PsychMed reviews
35Friendly staff and helpful sycoligest to keep me a good head space and work together through my problems.
Because im not backed by the ndis they cant help which really drives home the point that autistic people like myself are just a money maker to these people.
The matrix program changed my life
I’m a different person now then what I was when I started thanks to the help from psychmed
Great staff and friendly environment. Everyone is welcoming and ready to help in any way you need. Great support and help for everything that is going on. 100% recommend people to check them out and just ask for help. I know it's the hardest thing to do but just reach out and ask for help. They will help you find the best person for you.
Stunningly indifferent to needs. Called to rearrange an appointment I'd been waiting 6 months for. Receptionist obviously didn't care. Only offered to cancel appt.then maybe wait another 6 months. I'm already booked with psych, they can't reappoint? Obviously only interested in profit. Do not use!
My son is supposed to be seeing a psycholgist at the Giles Plains one but they keep cancelling on him. He has been going through a bad time lately. I rang them up to let them know he needs to talk, and he was booked in that week. They cancelled again! The secretary said shed make a note on his file. Seems like they don't care.
Nice personal friendly approach to clients and some useful courses are offerered in everyday coping in life/work online or in person. I learnt different approaches to issues I had struggled with but had no idea of a way around previously. I moved on from being 'stuck' in a bad place mentally. I can thoroughly recommend Psychmed for managing modern day stress, anxiety and other psychological issues. John
Amazing services, comfortable, patient, I can't say enough, thank you for a clean office, awesome psychologist.
Cheers
Wanted to store bank card details advised me it was under commonewealth law and they could do so. Didnt seem to meet recommendations of secure holding of card details securely. Not recommended.
And as ive just read the review below about just taking money.big red flag. The bank advise you not to hand over a cvv as protection on the card.so ur already breaching the bank security. Next.
Over the weekend I attended psych med graduation at Torrensville.
I listened to what they had to say Nat Cook and Quentin and I found it to be about themselves and not the people who graduated!
IT seems like that they are a very clicky group, not talking to the graduates but rather a get together for their own benefits.
It also seemed like that they have all the answers great speaches very poor in the practical. All about their founding rather than people suffering from mental health issues. 2 per cent on suicide prevention how poor is that.could say more but it only falls on deaf ears.
I've called this sad excuse for a company 15 times over a 3 day period and out of those 15 I got 1 answer where they said "they'll call me back that day" and all they did was take my name and number and I've never heard back from them God help anyone relying on their psychological help.
Waited 9 months for to be contacted after returning requested info. Finally made 1st appt.avail 6 weeks later and then kept getting calls to make an appt already sorted.
Tried to call 5 times today and each time got nobody.
Their gap fees are pretty low compared to other places and it’s in a really accessible location as well. Everyone I’ve met has been super lovely
Low gap fees and also free services. All the psychologists and admin team are super friendly and helpful
Rang them, Feb 2022, asked if they still bulk-bill, with 'no gap' payment, if requested by referring GP on a Medical Health Care Plan.
They said they, no longer bulk bill even with GP request on MHCP. (They stopped doing that a year ago, or so.)
For concession holders I was told there is a $27 gap payment.
For non- concession holders the gap payment is $120-ish.
Staff are friendly and try their best to assist all. The therapy cats are a delight at the Seaview Downs clinic.
I was referred here by my GP as I was a health care card concession holder. While it's not completely bulk billed, the gap with a concession card is very reasonable and even when I haven't had one it js very affordable.
I have had a terrific experience with Qui. Both in person and over zoom. I have learnt so much from him and would recommend him to anyone. We have focused a lot on mindfulness and he got me onto an app called 'Waking Up' which you can access for free if you don't have the means to pay for it by simply requesting it via their website.
He's also suggested quite a few books to me (not that I've managed to read them yet, but I'd like to)
Qui has facilities my having 3 test sessions booked through this practice with Ross at a very reasonable cost. They have been the WAIS, WAIT and WMS.
Worst waiting times i have ever experienced, for a place that you would think makes its priority to see people in a timely fashion. Zero star if possible!
Got an ADHD assessment that cost me $550, I have recently been told by a psychiatrist that only psychiatrists not psychologists can officially diagnose ADHD. So now I have to pay for a psychiatrist to re-diagnose me so I can get medication!
The room I was tested in was extremely loud and distracting (for an ADHD test!) facing north terrace which was under construction at the time, right next to the loud tram stop. There seems to be plenty of room in there, so not sure why that room was chosen.
The staff double booked the second half of my session so I felt rushed and had to finish the test via phone a few weeks later because I refused to come back in (as I had to keep taking time off work to make it in to the city).
The report I was meant to receive within 2-3 weeks took nearly 3 months to arrive.i had to keep calling to follow up.which for someone with ADHD and problems with executive function is really difficult!
Would give a zero if possible. Everything about this place reveals a complete lack of client care, laziness and unprofessionalism. The management are lazy professionally, not bothering to be informed of latest best practice, still just doing CBT, with no knowledge or interest in trauma-informed therapies, or approaches to empower people on a process to recovery and thriving through tools and practices. This place is the perfect example of lazy old fashioned disinterested patronising therapy. It really seemed that they would just nod at the client, allowing them to talk til the cows come home in sessions forever, just quietly taking the cheque, without a framework for progress and recovery. From an administrative point of view.my gosh.completely disinterested, disorganised and lacking in client care. You can wait months and then they will cancel an appointment with an hours notice and you have to wait all over again. Staff are patronising like the management. I had the psychologist cancel 3 out of 5 sessions and the ones where they did go ahead the psychologist was late and finished early and because it was over zoom (not during covid restrictions, so why? Just lazy) I could hear him working around his house distracted and then quoting things back to me about my life story that were completely incorrect. Then he got very rude and angry with me. Really quite disturbing. Do not use this service.
