Prohibition Liquor Co reviews
33Cheers to the Adelaide lads that started this Distillery from humble beginnings in 2015. Well done lads. Well done. Highly recommend the new fashioned cocktail.
Ok, let's start with, I'm not a gin drinker.
We wanted to try Gin, every body says its amazing and you should give it a go. So we thought we would, they squeezed us in into the cocktail bar.
The atmosphere was modern and Funky, the ambience was people having fun enjoying Gin at one of the reputably best Gin joints in town.
My approach to the barman was simple. "we've never done Gin. " his response was perfect. He set us up with a tasting, even though we weren't in the tasting room.
We were presented with 6 types if Gin, on two small platters (I gave it a good go). There were fruity notes, spicy notes and a few what the moments because I'm not a gin drinker. The bar tender didn't just dump the platters and walk away. He was very knowledgeable on each if the Gins. He talked us through each one, told us how to prepare it etc.
So, am I a Gin drinker now?
No.no im not, but this isn't an indictment on the Prohibition Liquor Co. Its just a "apparently I don't drink Gin" thing.
If you're looking for a really good Gin bar then this is your "spot". If you've "never done Gin" this is a good spot to see.
If Your a Gin drinker.
Great place, cool atmosphere, excellent service, knowledgeable and helpful and the gins are fantastic!
The entire experience at Prohibition Liquor is something that you will remember. The cocktails and martini drinks are sensational, we will return for a forth visit soon.
Great coffee service and location enjoyed taking a break and looking forward to returning for a gin tasting.
Paid $750 for a group evening. Recieved $170 worth of food; we received 2x cheese platters, 2x antipasto platters, and 2x dips platters for 30x people.
We had my best friend's hen's celebration here and it was just fantastic. Special thanks to Gretel who had been answering my many emails back and forth in the months leading up (planning an event during Covid, not the easiest thing to do). She made me feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. Another special thanks to Danny, who took us through our event on the night, talking us through each type of gin in depth, the gin making process, and answering all of our questions. All of the staff on the night were also very friendly and lovely. The food was absolutely delicious, of great quality, and presented beautifully. They catered for a few different dietary requirements, and all our guests had plenty to eat. Everything went swimmingly, thank you Prohibition Liquor for making our night so special and memorable. I'll be recommending this place again and again!
So Much Fun! Definitely go and do the gin flight. It's so great to be able to do a gin tasting in the middle of the city! The staff are friendly and very knowledgable and they make it a great experience
Huge selection of gins, tasting flights and informed staff to assist with queries. Great atmosphere and snacks/meals to accompany.
Love Gin, you will love this place. So many to choose from and great food. Friendly and informative staff. Fantastic experience!
Just a random message. I recently purchased some of your gin from Dan Murphy’s in Melbourne (mainly because I was trying something new and loved the bottle shape) then I realised you guys were from Adelaide! (My home town!) On top of that also noticed you now occupy 22 Gilbert St, where I used to work in a sign company! Small word! But more importantly loved the taste of your gin and will buy again! Love seeing such quality products coming out of Adelaide:)
Hope things continue well for you in these trying times.
Great fringe venue
Allegria choir sang beautifully.
Venue is industrial as they make their own gin.
Snacks great.
