Had a great lunch there, food arrived quickly even though they were busy, great food and friendly staff. It was a nice day and so we sat outside in their courtyard under an umbrella with a view of the sea.

Absolutely fantastic coffee and breakfast. Hospitality was fantastic. Only complaint was bread was barely toasted. Left absolutely satisfied. Would visit again without question next time I'm in Port MacDonnell.

Staff were so inviting, best breakfast of our trip. Amazingly fresh food and great location. Seriously coming back for more.

Very friendly service. We split a seafood platter, which had 2 of four different foods. Small piece of mullet overcooked. Plus chips. Really too much for one and not enough for 2. Soup was delicious. Would go back but order something else. Good ambience. Pear Dessert was really good.

Great meal at Periwinkles - the food was excellent and we had a lovely chat to the very friendly staff. We were able to take our small dog out into the outdoor seating area, and loved that a local lady also brought her cat in! How sweet! The café is very friendly and accommodating, which is wonderful, and it looks out across the water and foreshore. However the food was the best part, the coffee excellent, and I would highly recommend spending a lot of time at this café if you are ever in Port Macdonell. Its a great little town with wonderful headlands to the west.

Have visited this place many years ago when I was visiting my brother who lives in Mt. Gambier and he took me snd my dear sister to have a quick coffee break at Periwinkles Cafe. That day was very windy but the coffee was terrific. Never had any problems with their food nor drinks. Their toilets need upgrading for wheelchair users and need to have safety rails installed in the toilets too.

Fresh seafood, amazing view of sea and lovely ambience. Had my first ever lobster at this place, and it was simply fabulous. It is a hidden gem in Port Macdonnel. Visited Mount Gambier and was craving fresh seafood. It was about 25 minutes drive from Mount Gambier, and worth it. It's easy to distinguish if the seafood is stale or not well cooked. This place checked my personal quality checks, and l was flabbergasted with this taste as well as quality.
Ordered fresh southern rock lobster of around 900gms for 3 people which was grilled with garlic butter. It was served with fries, lemon wedges and garden salad. It was really a fun experience to learn how to eat a lobster. Do give it a try and order this for sure. You would Thank me later!
We also ordered oceans catch which consisted of grilled flake, panko crumbed calamari, panko prawns and herb prawn spring rolls. Quality and quantity, this was also a commendably executed dish.
Lastly, ordered beer battered large flathead with chips, salad and tartare sauce. It was fresh and crisp, the way we expect it to be. We were a group of 4 people and the bill was less than $150, including ordering the luxury food- Lobster. Definitely a place to visit if visiting Mount Gambier.

Lobster grilled in garlic butter freshly caught from the pristine waters overlooked by Periwinkles makes this worth any journey. Truly friendly and genuine staff.

While at first I found Periwinkles were the only food option open on a Sunday afternoon, I soon was VERY pleasantly surprised upon ordering food.
The food was amazing and the portion size was large. My meal tasted superb! My wife's meal was so great. The staff were also very friendly and helpful!

I am very pleased and I highly recommend this place for a fantastic experience!

Stopped in for lunch on New Year's Day. Well staffed and not too much of a wait for anything. Food was good, especially the chilli lime oysters. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Port McDonnell.

Great coffee, good choice of alternative milks. Fairly priced considering it's tourist location. Could easily gouge another 50c-$1 like most other towns along the coast but they don't which is refreshing.

This restaurant was highly recommended by Kim & Charlie, our BnB host. Friendly and accommodating staffs. Fresh seafood and cooked perfectly. Appreciated the options and price shown for the lobsters on the chart for us to make a decision. Other dishes/specials on the menu board. Nice place to hang out. We enjoyed our meal here

My husband ordered $40 seafood platter. Soft shell crab-mushie, dripping what looked like water and cold, fish tough and undercooked, chips mushie. 2 cookies offered VERY disappointing meal.

My husband & I always order the fish & chips. Periwinkles make the best apple crumble for miles around. Never been disappointed yet with food & friendly service.
