Ian and I called in to this beautiful place today.
The coffees were delicious. I had a Vegan Bliss Ball. So nice I purchased more to take home. Ian had the Salami Salad. Which he really enjoyed. The service was great.
All Staff are so lovely and helpful.
We will definitely be making regular trips to this wonderful place.

Thank you to Salt Cafe and Bar. I booked a window seat for 4 for lunch as we brought visitors who live on a cattle station in the far north of SA and wanted them to enjoy a beachside dining experience.
The table position was perfect, the food, wine, tea and coffee were fabulous. We were very happy with the total experience.

Fantastic local restaurant! We had fabulous coffee and food envy from the amazing seafood platters enjoyed by other diners. It's a must visit.
Update - came back for lunch and loved the seafood chowder! Grilled scallops looked amazing too. 5 stars all round.

Fantastic Cafe on the foreshore. The Splendid Breakfast was all that and more! Generous servings and everything was delicious, great coffee, excellent service. Very busy for a Sunday morning, all the reserved tables tell the story of how popular this place is. Definitely worth a visit, look forward to having dinner there next trip.

We had to wait 40 plus mins for our breakfast to be served when they were not even that busy. When I went to asked what happened with our breakfast none of the wait staff appologised to me. Instead they yelled at me and said there was a wait for the food. I said to them that even the people ordered behind us was served before us. They just said nothing. Finally our food came but there were egg shells inside my egg benidit and one of the eggs were cooked hard and the other one was semi running. I would not recommend this restaurant for breakfast! Just such poor attitudes from the wait staff!

The lobster is incredible, whether plain or grilled with garlic butter. The staff are so helpful and friendly. Essentially the freshest food cooked and served by people who really care. 10/10 put this on your bucket list. I will move heaven and earth to return one day.

Meh, service differs from day to day and your experience depends entirely on which staff member you strike. Sometimes, I can walk in and be greeted with a smile and other times im standing there and 3 or 4 staff members will walk straight past me and say nothing. Food is always amazing and beautiful. Takeaway coffee isn't the best though. I asked for a weak iced coffee and got a double shot coffee with no ice, just warm milk. Definitely on the right track, but a few things need improvement.

Got the lobster and a BLT. Really tasty food. Went during a lunch rush and a Tuesday a there wasn't table service which was awkward. You need to pick a seat first and then go up and order. There is more seating options inside and outside so check before ordering.

Nice location and friendly staff. The food was okay (the lobster was very expensive but tasted a little bland).

It was close to an hour wait for the food. I don't blame the staff if the place was very busy (it didn't seem so) but the absence of any acknowledgment that we were waiting for so long left a bad taste (aside from the local water).

Wanted to shout my teenage children to lobster for the first time. None of us were disappointed. Price was responsible, so I bought two. The staff were friendly and helpful. We walked off the street and were treated wonderfully. It was delicious and well worth the visit.

We had a few visits to Periwinkles during our stay at Port Mac and enjoyed each outing.
We had 10 people in our group and our food arrived quickly each time.
Staff are friendly and helpful, and the courtyard is a great place to enjoy the scenery. The food and coffee were great as well. I would highly recommend you try the vanilla slice which is made in house and so good!

Great coffee, but wouldn't eat there again. Ordered big breakie with scrambled eggs and smashed avo with the addition of a poached egg. On both meals eggs overcooked, both scrambled and poached. Waiter was great but kitchen took at least 15 minutes to replace the overcooked poached egg by which stage the rest of breakfast was cold. Disappointing!

Enjoyed our lunch here. The lobster? Was fantastic. Shared the Camembert and a lobster. Even had a chat with a local couple at the next table. Loved the name of our wine.

We’ve just had a delicious lunch - holidaying in Pt Mc Donnell - a great village.

Very good meal, my wife's crayfish was excellent. Terrific service and friendly staff. Would go back again when I get the chance.

Lovely Cafe in Port MacDonnell - great views, modern inviting interior. Menu looked yummy. I had a coffee which was delicious - even had my oat milk. Tasted great and my husband who is not such a coffee fan really liked it too. Friendly prompt service. Would recommend

Simply the tastiest and freshest crayfish and scallops we've ever had. It was worth travelling from Melbourne to Port McDonnell for this. I still dream about this meal!

龙虾2吃- natural and grilled lobster. Lobster is very fresh and delicious. The cafe is nice and clean. It also has beautiful ocean view.

This is a wonderful Café to come and enjoy very fresh and well cooked seafood. The staff are very friendly, and caring. The southern rock lobster are cooked to perfection, whether you go for it original or garlic butter style. We also enjoyed the scallops which were perfectly grilled. I would visit again if it was much closer to home! Highly recommended if you are in Port McDonnell.
