Palais Hotel reviews
60I'm afraid I'm a little old school, I preferred the "old" Palais before the substantial renovations & when the restaurant was downstairs. Someone spent a lot of time & money changing this venue & it looks good, but a little clinical. In its former state it had an incredible character that no longer exists. Every Sunday was a magnificent day with the beach views, music, dancing & great food from breakfast, lunch & dinner with a host of your friends. I suspect most clientele is now new & would have no idea what I'm talking about. The current incarnation is good, the food is good, it doesn't appear as busy as it once was, the ambience is okay, in general, not too bad, BUT NOT AS GOOD NOR AS GREAT AS IT ONCE WAS, WHEN THE ATMOSPHERE WAS MORE THAN GOOD, IT WAS INCREDIBLE. I recommend one should visit this establishment, certainly one of the better venues. Cheers.
Went there for a birthday dinner, I had the salt and pepper squid was okay not the best I've had but was still nice
Food very average.one female staff member was Rude when ordering food.yet the male staff when you get your drinks was very friendly
Walked to Palais this morning fresh and energy great sunrise calm water prayer meditation a good start for today grace of god there I go
Heritage queen room i had beautiful and clean room bed was so comfortable it was like floating on a cloud lovely big bathroom large tv. The moment you walked in the room was like stepping back in time, , the whole hotel was excellent
I was served by a good bloke, teenager, I think he said his name was Nathan. He stepped on the back of my shoe causing my shoe to fling off. However, he recovered and brought my shoe straight back to me. I was quite frustrated and ready to start shoving him, but he was just being kind, he’s a lovely young lad, great with kids too.
I love this place. What's better than drinking beers (or G&T, or whatever) with friends at the beach. You can choose sunny seating areas or shade.
Food is good also.
Had the scampi & scallops, flavour & marinade on a delicate bed of shoestring salad was delicious and 5 star. Still recalling the smell & flavour.
Great coffee. Friendly and informative staff. By the shore, it was hot, but the shaded deck was very pleasant.
Great vibe as you relax near the beach
This venue will always have the beach views in a magnificent building. Extremly loud venue
Th he people therefore understand sign language and th hat made for a terrific catch up with friends. No children past 9 pl m.
A place to be in the afternoon after a long walk at the beach. Relaxing esp w Raggae On and other bands playing music.id come here everyday. Foods are amazing too w reasonable cost. Bar staff are friendly.
Very wide selection of foods and cuisines, is very popular. Inside and outside sections are good to eat in, joins directly and therefore has quick access onto the Semaphore esplanade and beach path.
Great place love the renovations, great atmosphere. Lots of seating, big TVs and good music. Great range of drinks. Staff are friendly and service is great
Excellent service good choices on the menu seniors available and good range of specials parking is a bit of a problem because of beach goers during the summer
I would like to rate more because the meals are great but after eating friend and i went downstairs to have drink and the barmaid served my friend and ignored me we were both shocked at her manner. I was then served by another female barmaid who yawned twice while serving me. Tall male was polite and asked if i needed service but my experience was already damaged. Wont be going back and will be telling everyone I know not to bother.
Great location to eat, drink and hang out during the summer. Sat night downstairs turns into a nightclub and Sunday they have a band and great atmosphere for the more mature crowd.
Steak night Wednesday. $16.90 300gm. Rump. Absolutely fantastic value. Cooked to perfection. Highly recommended.
I love this hotel, happy hour is great and the food is delicious for pub food. Plus the view of the beach is a bonus too. Friendly staff too.
We visited the lower section which adjoins the sandhills and beachfront. The atmosphere was casual with lots of room to sit and enjoy a meal or just have a drink. Order at the bar for drinks and meals. The menu has a wide range of foods. The schnitzel were large and good value. We also had an entree of Haloumi cheese which was very nice and it was also a large serving.
There is a wide variety of beer with lots on tap. A great spot to relax.
