Orientai reviews
78Truly good authentic Thai dishes and nice and simple ambience and services good. One of our favorite restaurant.
I went a few times and the food is always great. The service is good alongside with the decoration of the restaurant. Car park is big enough otherwise you can park on the back street. My 3 and 6 years old kids enjoyed. Just one thing missing for me: coconut rice!
The best bang bang noodles in town lunch specials are so affordable s+p squid to die for lovely friendly staff, the do takeaway aswell they dont miss a beat here!
Been to Orientai many many times with the family over a lot of years and the place never changes which is a good thing! The food the staff and the location are outstanding. Had the best ever salt and pepper squid here - melts in your mouth. Prices are very reasonable
Has had the reputation as a premier Asian restaurant for years. Dumplings are Devine. Chu chi prawns excellent although five is a little light for a main. Fried rice tasty and flavoursome. Black rice dessert with (real) iicecream finished off a delightful Saturday night out. Staff friendly and not too imposing
Service was good and we really enjoyed the banquet and came away very well fed, with extra to enjoy the next day!
Ordered take away.
Tom yum soups were ridiculously undersized, less than 200mls. The food was oily and bland. The pad thai was uninspiring. For close to $60 it was very disappointing. Upon ringing up to provide this feedback, the manager was unreceptive and unwaveringly unapologetic.
We can't help but think that this whole transaction took advantage of poor portion sizes due to be take away customers.
Nice and modernized interior, good and service was great. Probably some of the best Thai I've had in a long time! Only downside is the car park can get a little cramped.
Great service and value, been here a few times and never dissatisfied. Food is fresh and full of flavour
27/4- came for dinner with a group 11 for my birthday. 3 meals came out 45mins after the rest. No apology. Unfortunately my thoughts have changed dramatically.
Food is amazing cant fault it! But after getting 1 main and having to wait 45 minutes for the second main to arrive the experience was ruined.
First time diners we will definitely be back.
Friendly attentive staff clean nice background music at just the right volume that you can talk. Entree was out pretty quick and just a nice time before mains. Good size serve for all meals we couldn't eat it all so we have lunch tomorrow. We had chicken satay and salt and pepper squid for entree could have easily fed 3. Honey chicken and beef cheek for main with a serve of fried rice we would recommend everything we had. Price was compatible with cafe primo type pricing even better with an entertainment book voucher.
Beautiful food and very good service. Only the second time we've been to Orentai and it was as good as the first. Our 7 year old loved the honey chicken.
The food is not bad at all. The lack of allergy alternatives isn't great. The place was also pretty empty and our food took ages.
The food tends to be good. After finding a hair in the food I don't think we will be back any time soon. I don't like the habit of waiters asking how the food was but you feel like that's where it ends. I expect my feedback to reach the kitchen. Otherwise don't bother asking.
Modern building, good parking and access. Food can be a bit hit and miss. We live close and usually avoid it here coz it had been gross, but last time they had actually gotten a lot better.for food anyway, service was still slow and they seemed very confused.
Don't quite know what to make of this. I can see why others like it as it's very westernised. I just really don't like oily food and my basil chicken was glistening with it (could barely eat any, but what I could eat I enjoyed the taste of). The others I was eating with enjoyed their dishes (a massuman curry and honey chicken, both very sweet).
I can't complain too much, they didn't skimp on ingredients. The servings for takeaway were ample but then again for $16-$20 they'd want to be.
The guy who served us was very friendly, and they were polite and clear over the phone.
Yummy food. A little disappointed though as i ordered the plum duck as a main course and it only came out as some sliced duck with plum sauce, i was kind of expecting some vegies on the side as well like other thai restaurants do. Very tasty though apart from that.
Went a second time 10 months later and it didn't disappoint, very speedy and friendly service, and the massaman lamb was delicious. Probably my only issue is that the restaurant is really starting to look tired and dated from the outside and the car park is terrible
