Oarsman Reserve reviews
27Really nice and relaxing place.the water always looks so good and just has a comfortable feel about it.
Good place to do some activities. Have a playground for kids a reasonable patch of sandy beach for a swim. BBQ area or a quick fishing session. A great walking exercise an hour or more walking loop around the lake. Dog friendly area and has restroom.
Tidy area, toilets let the site down.need more to suit the larger crowds turning up for big rowing events to such an internationally recognised venue!
Not great. No bins for rubbish and council parking person is ferocious. Hardly any disabled parking. Council must be running out of money. Try elsewhere. No
Well in 2000 I caught a mulloway well over 24 kilos here from West lakes.its my favourite place to fish sit and ponder has public toilets, small boat ramp.its a great place to start your walk around the lake and return to your vehicle.
Needs a bigger play ground for more kids great reserve
Great park we had a kayak and watched the kids learning to sail. Pretty funny at times but busy
A great spot on the lake at Westlakes, right near the West Lakes Rowing club. We attended a Birthday Party there, great playground for the kids, shelter and BBQ. Nice grass for the kids to play on and a little further over to the right another good size piece of lawn /grass to utilize. A little village green or a Grassy Knowl. Theres a walk along the lake via a footpath that goes alongside the lake. You can go a fair way but not all the way around, 3/4 the way around. A decent walk. A lovely place and the day we were there not overcrowded.
Across Military road on the othewr side is access to the Beach. Carpark and walkway to the beach. Very very nice.
We came here to try out our new kayaks, but actually this is a great little park in its own right. There’s a public toilet, a decent play area for the kids and there’s a restaurant there which meant we could grab a tasty bite to eat for lunch once we’d finished on the water. There is also beach all the way down the length of this park so I bet it’s pretty busy in summer, but that’s just a guess!
Luv kayaking here in my 5.3 m sea kayak, no waves and sheltered from ocean wind.beautiful surroundings!
Took out our kayak here today nice little beach and grassed area. Some shade from trees. Good facilities. We will be back.
Love this park. Is near the water with a little lake beach the playground is fantastic. They have 4 different spots to do barbecue and it is very close to the OAR cafe. I just thought they could add a fence between the playground and the street but it is safe anyways.
Wide meadow, clean beach, playground, barbecue party, boating and swimming. A beautiful inner lake close to the sea. It's worth visiting.
The playground here is awesome. My daughter is 3 and she's at a great age for it. The 'beach' area on the lake is also a great little spot.
Lovely place to take puppy for a walk! He really enjoyed walking along the water while his little feet frolicked in the sand.
Beatiful place. You can do many activities here, doing barbeque, plating in the pkayground, swimming, canoing, walking, jogging, or just playing the sand and water.
Place where you can bring the whole family, and also your pets.
A really beautiful spot over West lakes. The lake runs past the park. Has a bbq area and a public toilet, and a playground for kids. Also a lawn area to play games or a picnic.
Great newish playground, plenty of areas to sit and watch kids play, also has a small beach area with view of the lake (West Lakes) and surrounding homes. It's really busy on Saturday's due to the rowing club next door, we went on a Sunday arvo.
There are a few swings and slides, climbing frames, toilets nearby and bbq facilities. I think there is also a cafe near the rowing club which was opened today.
Our 4 & 12 year old's loved it and will be back!
Well maintained reserve with boat ramp for access to the lake and large playground for children. You can also access the walking trail around the lake from the reserve. Large grasses area and picnic facilities.
Beautiful place. Calm. Has a nice playground for kids. Benches to sit on. Barbecue area. Has a small beach area with sand for kids to play. People fishing. You can see lots of star fosh near the rock. Lovely place! Will go back any day!
