Oak and Iron

Been here multiple times and always great food and service. The iced coffees are great and the steak sandwich is always one of our favourites!

We have been regulars to Oak & Iron for quite some time & it had been a favourite of ours for general meals & special occasions. With COVID we thought we’d support a local however I feel that’s come to an end after our latest experience. I booked a table earlier in the week, rocked up & there was no record of the booking - all good, still able to be seated but no one was overly happy for us to be there. Menu was chucked on our table while we got seated. Specials weren’t explained (nor even offered). To get salad or veg is now another $2/plate! We paid $64 for two people (2 mains & two non-alcoholic drinks with no salads). What we received was not $64 worth. The beef schnitzel was like cardboard & overcooked, minimal gravy. Chicken schnitzel was tiny with surfer topping - we paid $6 for the topping & it was a big letdown. No one checked on us during our meal, dessert not offered. The atmosphere has really gone which is so disappointing! Previously we would have been more than happy to spend this amount for the meals and atmosphere but not after tonight. We left lighter in the hip pocket & still hungry & unfortunately very disappointed.

Quality food, adequate serving sizes, reasonable prices, the restaurant is spacious and carpeted (so it's not overly loud), and the service is exceptional. What more could you ask for?

Food was great, service was great, but the food to a bloody long time to come out, considering the place wasn't packed and our group had pizza's, schnitzels and salads, definitely wasn't worth the wait at all.

This is a place that is really classy without breaking the bank. The staff was friendly, the interior was nice to look at and the ambience was just right. The crowd was mostly a little older people hence I could have a nice time with some peace and tranquility

Its a nice place for atmosphere and service but its a little pricey. So if you like getting your money's worth its not really doing the job but its nice if thats not an issue. The people are lovely. Give it a go if you've got the budget.

Can’t make a plain beef snitzel to save there lives. Thin deep fried cardboard, that was supposed to be 250g, but wouldn’t have been even half that.
Left after four bites and went to Macca’s.

Staff are nice but food is very hit an miss. Had too many under and over cooked steak. Seriously it's not that hard to cook a medium rare stake.

Ordered a mixed grill and around 20 minutes later they came out and told me they'd run out. That wasn't too bad I substituted for a Hawaiin schnitzel. This was a turn for the worst, small, expensive, not enough cheese, soggy and lacking flavour. To top it all off the musician was beyond terrible, and far too loud for the setting. Very poor experience. Will. Not be returning.

Didn't enjoy the food but this was probably due to my choice, pork roast, but my friends enjoyed their food. The location was very nice and the staff very attentive and friendly.

We booked ahead and were greeted by very Friendly Staff! Recommendations were made and chosen and enjoyed beyond words! There was nothing that was too hard for the wonderful staff to do and the service was just perfect! We would definitely be going back and would Highly recommend the experience!

Great choices on the extensive menu. Regular soft drinks size seemed a little smaller than average but the food is fantastic and very well presented on the plate.

Ordered at 7.40 finally getting out meal at 9. The pizza was cold and the poached chicken was deep fried and disgusting. Deep fried is not poached. Would never eat there again.

I was first impressed with this restaurant's phone service as I called to book a table and was not disappointed with the food or the service at the venue. Highly recommend.

Had a fantastic time friday night with close friends. Lovely family friendly atmosphere and great food. Highly recommended it Great staff and Michelle Berry does a fantantic job of managing with her professional friendly caring attitude.

Have eaten here before and it was great however one waitress Ann was so rude we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. The food is great and the service is usually very good but unfortunately we had a bad experience this time.

The service hear is amazing. Constantly smiling staff that are happy to wait on you and meet any request. Would highly recommend trying the food too

Most of the staff are friendly but finished our bread not rolls and still haven't been taken away, but this is the second time we have had to wait over an hour for our meals. Not to impressed, price is reasonable.
