Oak and Iron

The service was absolutely amazing! The staff were so friendly and happy it is so refreshing to see. They food was great too. We can’t wait to go back!

I was invited by the establishment. Food was ok. Didn't play the pokies. I like to spend a $ here and there $5 being my limit but all but 2 are notes only. I don't want to spend more than my allotted budget so a little disappointing.

The venue is warm and welcoming and the food was good value and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Severley overpriced for the servings of food. Good beer prices. For reference a bowl of chips on the entree menu is $15. Go figure.

The Whole Crew from the serving staff through to the kitchen were Amazing and worked tirelessly to ensure our Special Lunch was a very memorable day.

Michelle from Functions did a great job in supporting our day when the other Function rooms of Auchendarroch House were fully booked. Mahli from Wallis cinemas was instrumental in organising the duel event of a private cinema screening before our lunch. Both these ladies are great organisers and managed to support me to pull of this event just as I imaged it.

Overall I am very happy with the commitment to great service that the Oak and Iron Staff displayed. Not one of our 24 guests were disappointed with their food, service or the setting overlooking the beautiful gardens outside.

I recommend Oak and Iron for any pre-booked Luncheon, big or small.

Again, thank you very much to all the service staff involved. 10/10.

Start with the food, portions are perfect the different selections of food and taste is one of the best in the hills the wine lust is small but great and don’t even get me started on the cocktails, if your looking for a care free night with great food and drinks this is the place, and last but not least the staff is amazing and then there’s Sam the most amazing worker you’ll meet in the hills, always there to help and have a conversation about anything, good kid and well done iron and oak.

It is ok here. Food ok, Staff ok, atmosphere ok. There is not alot to hate, but there is not a lot to love. I felt like I was eating in a restaurant in a quiet airport. Lots of space, things a but clinical. Nice and neat but not a great atmosphere. The highlight. My chips on my schnitzel were very good.

Wow, lovely presentation of food delivered to our table, by a clean smiling waitress, prices are reasonable. Parking was a bit scarce but we managed to get a spot. Welcoming atmosphere, clean venue.

Brilliant restaurant. The food absolutely slaps, so rich in flavour and truly high quality meals. Whether it's something small or a multi course meal, I would recommend this place anytime.
Staff were very friendly, tables were very clean, there's a lovely atmosphere throughout the building, it's a rather pleasurable experience.

We drove up on a whim after reading an online article about the property.

The rose garden is gorgeous with many exotic varieties and a lovely setting. Although normally only available to specific groups, we lucked out and managed to have a private tour of the wonderfully restored mansion.

It has features from the original wall paper and paintings, most enlightening.

As far as the restaurant is concerned we were between meals, so had drinks and a good size serving of yam chips, nicely presented in a large cone and glassware. Tasty and full filling. All in all a relaxing and romantic (even after 55 years!), day out in the Adelaide hills.

This would be an ideal location and venue for any business or social networking and educational presentations. Highly recommended.

Lunch 27th March 4 people. After the meal went to purchase a slice of cake to go with coffees. Expected to be given to me. He said he'd bring it to the table. Didn't bring it. Stood around chatting. Coffees almost finished. Went back to collect myself. Same staffer said very rudely "It's coming, ok". Took 15 mins for him to bring a $7.50 slice of "already sliced " cake to the table that I could have taken straight off. Didn't get his name. Young lad. Tallest on the team. A real smart arse attitude. After dining there several times would never go back because of this one person. Plenty of young people looking to get jobs in hospitality. Choose them better.

Very busy but was advised of wait time for meals. The meals were served in the advised time. Has some nice outdoor seating. Service was awesome and the food great. Drinks expensive.

The staff are probably the best trained in the district. Always polite and obliging. Special shout out to Andrew. Always remembers us. Meals are great value for money particularly steak nights. Would highly recommend.

First visit and totally underwhelmed. We called in on a Tuesday afternoon and ordered coffee with the intention of booking in to the Restaurant for a later date. First impressions Staff were unattentive and disinterested. Lady asked where we were sitting so i gave her a table number, she told me i couldnt sit there and told me where i could sit (which would of been fine in the first place) we were then charged an extra 50 cents for having the coffee in a take away cup. Coffee was burnt. Needless to say we didnt book for dinner. Dining out isnt cheap so your experience should be great food and excellent service. Wont be back plenty of other local businesses to support who will welcome our custom.

Hadn't been there for a while. Wasn't that impressed, nothing to rave about, very ordinary. Would we go back? Probably not

I had the chicken schnitzel with mushroom gravy, chips and vegetables very good.
There is vegetarian and vegan to choose from which are nice.
The restaurant is spacious, warm and comfortable.
On-site parking.

Gorgeous place surrounded by beautiful gardens. Excellent food and value for money. Highly recommended.

Not an enjoyable evening, schnitzel was over cooked to the point I couldn't cut it, the side salad drowned in dressing, its not what it used to be anymore. Just an expensive left over menu ~ never again.

We had our wedding anniversary lunch here today. Lovely food, great scenery and friendly attentive staff. We'll be back!
