NOLA Craft Beer & Whiskey

We have a new go-to in Adelaide!
Recently we took a short trip to Adelaide so making the right choice for lunch was very important. Thankfully we had heard great things about NOLA so we decided to head there.
We advised the staff that we didn’t have a booking and were pleasantly surprised to hear they don’t take them so this got our dining experience off to a great start.
We grabbed a table upstairs and ordered via the QR code making everyone’s lives easier. On order was Cornbread, BBQ Pork Belly Burnt Ends, Smoked Bacon Mac and Cheese, Spicy Corn Ribs, Cajun Roasted Cauliflower with Almonds and Blue Cheese and lastly, Frickles which were Lightly battered dill pickles with fermented jalapeno aioli. To be fair we ordered A LOT because we basically could not rule any of the above dishes out.
The food was outstanding to say the very least. It was really hard to choose a favourite here so we rounded it down to 3. The Spicy Corn Ribs, BBQ Pork Belly and the Cauliflower were the most balanced and delicious of all. That’s not to take away from the others, it’s just that those made us go wow!
The atmosphere at this restaurant was also great. The music was not too loud but contained a seriously good playlist.
Additionally, the staff were friendly but gave us just the right amount of space to take our time with our meals and leave us to it. We are not afraid to say that we asked for take away containers for the leftovers here - and yes, it was that good!
All up, we can easily say we know where we’ll be eating next time we visit Adelaide!

Organised a big team gathering and from start to end service was great, food selection and quantity was amazing.

Ordered two drinks and the cajun shrimp dip. Food arrived before drinks which was alright. Fifteen minutes later our drinks still haven’t arrived. Went up to the bar to ask about our drinks. Bartender said she’s making them. Then I noticed the group from the other table arrived after us got their drinks first. Went to the bar again, at this point it’s already been 30 minutes, and they spiked our dockets without actually delivering the drinks. After realising this mistake, they proceeded to make the two drinks but still they didn’t arrive together. Overall, this situation just made the experience subpar and not memorable for us. Only upside is that they apologised, but nothing was done to make our time at Nola enjoyable and less frustrating. Even the shrimp dip was just meh.

Such a great late night eat, I ordered the Smoked brisket PO'BOY and Beignets, both which were fantastic!

Nola is my go to venue for beer in the Eastern side of Adelaide and a must visit for their Cajun dishes. Jambalaya and the pork balls are my regulars.

Food and cocktails are great! Majority of staff are fantastic!
Although I would rate 5 stars, but one bar staff member tried to be very argumentative and accusing that I had ordered that particular cocktail when I had ordered something different. He decided to then through insult towards myself when I complained about his attitude and customer service. I truly believe I should not be questioned multiple times am I sure that I ordered a particular cocktail when the barman made the wrong cocktail. I politely said this is not the drink I ordered, he proceeded to question over and over again are you ‘sure’, suggesting I had just changed my mind and wanted something different. In the end I waited approximately 40 minutes for my correct cocktail to be made. The English barman through in some insults saying you obviously don’t work in hospitality, when I know hospitality workers in a up market bar should be hospitable towards customers, I had to tell him repeatedly to stop arguing and leave my table. Embarrassing look for Nola. At least other staff members rectified the problem when explained, but no offer of reimbursement or anything else for their mistakes.

Overall great food and drinks, but just one barman needs to fix his attitude quick smart! As Nola has a great vibe overall and great ambiance!

Can 200% recommend this terrific place. Lively atmosphere, with staff who are friendly and knowledgeable about the products they serve. Food is always excellent and love their focus on supporting local and Aussie brewers. It's a small space, so getting in during COVID wasn't always easy, but if you're willing to wait and be flexible they are very accommodating.

That was fabulous. Great service, easy order process and delicious food, it's a win-win! Highly recommended.

Great food, great beer, great whisk (e) y. What more could you want? Fried Chicken is amazing (I fully recommend the chicken and waffles), the range of local craft beer, especially on tap is extensive and continuously rotating so there's always something new to drink. And the whisk (e) y! All your favorites as well as some rare and hard to find are all here on the shelf ready for you to have a dram or two. Highly recommend.
Edit Nov 2021: Unfortunately the chicken and waffles are no longer on the menu however the fried chicken is still amazing as well as the rest of the menu.

NOLA Adelaide exceeded my expectations. The food was surprisingly amazing for a small bar. The general consensus is that the fried chicken is extremely tasty, I can confirm that statement. The skin is very crispy and the chicken is amazingly juicy. I had a great experience at NOLA and I would definitely return to try more of their menu and drinks.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Friendly staff and great drinks! Their food is also really delicious. Goes well with the drinks you can order. Huge selection of cocktails and ample seating! Both indoor and outdoor seating, and it's in such a great location. Very pretty.

Saw some great country music upstairs. My friends had a lovely evening. Good range of drinks. Friendly staff.

You cannot book here. Very cramped. There were 6 of us, booths only really big enough for 4. Food was nice. Wine and soft drinks on the expensive side.

Amazing food and amazing atmosphere, I have to say that the singer was so good at it that we were questioning if it was like a radio channel or a CD.

The vibe was absolutely fantastic, drinks was amazing as well, the first cocktail (had passion fruit in it) that we got was surprisingly sweet since there wasn't any taste of alcohol at all, great for newbies but the one we got after was pretty strong, we couldn't even finish half a glass cause the whiskey was just too strong (scotch something), great for long term drinkers or whiskey lovers.

Great food and experience, we had a few if their cocktails which where amazing and we shared the feed me option and added their fried chicken. Perfect location on the laneway just off Rundle street
