My Grandma Ben reviews
48 Three things;
1. If you're looking for something ridiculously delicious and filling the Bacon and egg sanga is the way to go.
2. Jordan is the most lovely, attentive, good souled, sunshine in human form you would be lucky to have serve you. (Please give that woman a bonus).
3. The vibe is like a warm hug.
Great little cafe within Plant 4 at Bowden. Coffee was very good and I had the mushroom paté toasted sandwich which was a decent size and was very nice. The staff were friendly and although they asked early if we were ready to order (which we weren't) they took some time to come back to take our order. Beyond that I can't fault the place. It's worth checking out.
Very good coffee, though never hot enough for me. I have always enjoyed the food available here.
Couldn't help noticing how much the young petite waitress was on the ball. Taking three four cups of coffee at one go, turning around to fetch for me water bottle and glasses from another shop etc. If only all milliniels are as energetic and diligent like her, billions can be saved from being wasted on those thousands of dole bludgers, every month.
I can't tell you what the food is like, after waiting 30minutes they got my order wrong. Then it took them 10minutes to figure out how to refund my money. Wouldn't bother again
Really nice food and coffee but the wait times are a bit much, 15 mins just to get a coffee. Although the time i had food as well it only took 20 mins, but being in plant 4 its busy most of the time.
My Grandma Ben is a sustainably focused café, bar and workshop space. I highly recommend their house made crumpets with a great coffee. Lovely space to have a working lunch or just catch up with friends.
Incredible coffee. Best coffee in Plant 4. They do NOT do takeaway, so only order from here if you want to sit down.
Picking and fermenting workshop was a treat! Friendly staff who are passionate about passing on their knowledge. A lovely night with snacks and wine and lots to take home.
I had the Brekkie Banh Mi (veg) - takeaway and it was incredibly delicious! They serve all day brunch - SCORE!
The service was quick and friendly - Ready in just over 5 minutes and the flavours of scrambled egg, cheese, kimchi and onion were cooked to perfection. My taste buds were in heaven. Would HIGHLY recommend.
My hands down favourite cafe in Adelaide. There is absolutely nothing else like it. Everything is made with so much love and is so delicious. Would recommend to everyone, honestly it's a must to give a try!
I aways have a great meal at My Grandma Ben! Personal fave of mine are the pies that they have on the menu, which change season to season! So happy they’re open and loving their new space! Best meal and coffee you’ll have in Plant 4 Bowden! 10/10!
Best place to eat in Plant 4 and they cater for weddings too! Highly recommend the homemade crumpets for breakfast, they are delicious!
Really friendly staff, I didn't love the menu personally but the food was nice, well presented and good portion sizes.
Amazing coffee and friendly staff. I am looking forward to coming back soon to explore the menu.
Edited my review, previously gave three stars but we decided to visit again today to give it another go and was pleasently surprised. Amazing food with so many fresh, tasty options and variety in ingredients.
Nice to see a brunch place that doesn't follow the usual trends. Will be back!
Previous review: Great food and atmosphere with the ability to book a table. Not sure if it is like this all the time but we waited 1.5 hours for our food, which isn’t acceptable or ideal if you have other things to accomplish in the day. Seemed understaffed with a constant long line to order food/be seated and long waiting times for their orders also. Quite a few items on the menu weren’t available due to stock shortages (also not sure if because of Christmas time).
Great potential in terms of food quality, just let down by other factors.
Tasty, nutritious and delicious. Love the fermented and pickled sides and garnishes. Would recommend.
Had a delicious breakfast at My Grandma Ben this morning. Loved the Roo Bolognese dish with fried egg on crumpets. They also serve locally roasted coffee (available in delicious filter) from Monday's Coffee. A total treat!
Pretty cool spot in the hipster part of Adelaide. Liked the food options as there was a nice array of dishes that aren't seen in most brunch places. Disappointing aspect for me was that they only did filtered coffee and I'm not really into that. A choice would be preferred.
Genuinely amazing and unique cafe, with a focus on local produce and the environment. Lovely people, and somehow even lovelier hash browns.
