Middleton Beach reviews
26One of the nicest beaches in South Australia & an excellent spot to see the Whales Popular surfing beach. There was at least a dozen surfers out there today. The views are beautiful all around. Plenty of parking available along the boulevard.
Amazing whale watching spot in the winter. We got very lucky and saw a whale within a minute of arriving about 400-500m away from the shore. Bring a camera with a big zoom or binoculars.
Broad flat beach great for walking on and no loose dry sand. Firm underfoot and watch where you are walking. You never know what the sea washes up. I found a sharp bone with a spine pointing up that would cause serious injury if walking bare footed. Enjoy
Absolutely awesome place rain hail or shine it's spectacular were bloody lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the world we really are.
Nice beach for the kids and dog, just be careful with waves. Kids can enjoy surfing lessons or bodysurfing.
You need to know where to park, as we were very far from the toilets!
Then find out there is not shower so I had to put the kids full of sand in the car and drive to the nearest toilet/shower.
Beautiful beach conveniently located on the Fleurieu Peninsula, approximately an hour or so from Adelaide. Long beach ideal for good long walks with your pooch or just solo walks. This beach seems to be a very popular spot with surfers ️ ️ and there were quite a few around. The waves didn't seem very large to intimidate newbie surfers but just enough to keep the better ones interested.
The carpark located off Chapman Road was quite adequate and there was plenty of space available (visited in the middle of the week). However, there are no toilets at this specific location nor is there any provision to wash off the sand/sea water/seaweed from your legs.
Great place to enjoy a day away from the city and just relax.
Spectacular view.you can enjoy the view while sitting inside the car if the weather is too cold and windy.
Awesome beach for catching some waves! Very long beach for walking too. Not the most picturesque but serves its purpose well
Good beach for beginner surfers or those riding longer boards as the waves are less powerful than Waits or Parsons. The waves are sometimes messy but it can produce some beautiful glassy rolling ones with the right conditions.
The beach itself is kept clean and has plenty of space so you can get away from others. Areas near carparks can get crowded though if you're not willing to head up or down the beach. Facilities are nice with toilets at several parks and bins + doggy bags provided for people with pets at most spots too.
The Middleton Point does get huge hauls of seaweed at times which can be pretty stinky and difficult to wade through. But with so much beach it's hard to be upset by this.
A white sandy beach with views along the coast and various headlands. Can be calm and pleasant or big swells unsuitable for swimming but good for surfing. Good for long walks with views with or without a canine companion. On occasions can hear the Cockle train pass along the coast nearby. Whale watching.
So bright and clean. Menu really good. Enjoyed breakfast out on the deck. Delicious food and coffee.
Such a beautiful place and on our back door step too.
Do yourself a favour and book a surf lesson with surf and sun you won't regret it.
Perfect for beginner surfers, nice towns along the road.cool place to visit if you go past Victor Habor
Unlike Port Elliot with shops and cafes, Middleton is suburban. The best surfing spot for miles. The beach is safe and flat but the water is often cloudy and sometimes sea weedy. However it is a popular beach for good reason
Lovely quiet bit of coastline. There are warnings about tides and currents if you are thinking about swimming but great for a walk or run. Also a good spot for watching the sunrise.
Compared to the East Coast of NSW, Australia this beach seems to have a finer sand that stays in suspension even with 30 to 60 cm waves. There is also broken up sea grass and a few areas of rock. There is direct exposure to the Southern Ocean so the waves can get vigorous at times. The slope is gentle in most parts. Look out for the surf school, been there for years and has a good reputation.
Good beach on right day for surfing not keep a good eye on children not really a swimming Beach.
A popular surfing beach. NOT patrolled by lifesavers. Plenty of parking and public toilets available.
Always great here. Better for catching waves than swimming though. Seaweed comes and goes but extremely beautiful outlook. Never really crowded.
Rug up and head down to Middleton, there are always waves and a selection of surf schools. Search for shells and other treasures washed up by the time. Climb the rocks or ride along the coastal path. Don't forget to check out the local shops. Plenty to keep you busy down Middleton way.
