Mick O'Shea's Irish Pub and Motel reviews
52Works post Christmas party was catered for perfectly. Fantastic food and setting organised outdoors, made for a relaxing and fun afternoon for everyone involved.
Order the beef and Guinness pie!
We’ve visited Mick’s for food and drinks quite regularly over the last few years. It’s always been good but last night’s dinner was exceptional!
My Guinness beef pie with mash (I swapped for chips on the menu) was sensational! First time I’ve had the beef pie here and I’ll be getting it again. It really was sublime!
Had a great night food was brilliant and got to sit outside on the grass and listen to Christmas carols
Pokies room Attendant was engaging, professional, efficient and so lovely, she makes guest want to return! Sorry I didn't remember her name, but it was after lunch on Thursday December 9th.
Great venue, beautiful garden and outdoor dining areas. Food was a bit hit and miss. The chicken pate was barely edible, recommend that you don't order that. Very small quantity of chips served with parmi, that's a big disappointment. And hardly any cheese on parmi neither. But still a good spot.
The expensive meals were very average, we had 2 cockroaches on our table! There was only a few people there and our meals took over half an hour to come out.
The meal was disappointing. The pork belly was dry and the chef hadn't supplied enough jus. I had ask the waitress for a jug of gravy otherwise the meal would have been inedible. I was not impressed being charged $3: 50 for a jug of gravy, it should have been complimentary under the circumstances. My partner had the pork entree and that too was overcooked and dry. Service was excellent, could not fault that.
Ive been to Mick O'Sheas lots of times. Ive eaten there, stayed there and had my engagement party there! Im writing this review because I ate there again on the weekend. I had the Burrito Bowl which was amazing and Ive always had good food there. Its such a nice spot with a large outdoor area and the indoor area is really cozy as well with an open fire. Our engagement party was great - good organisation and the food was very reasonably priced. I stayed there quite a while ago but from what I remember it was good!
I've really only ordered off the 'classics' menu
The old rustic Guinness pie with Soda bread used to be my favourite but unfortunately that's changed so I stick to the usual burger or schnitzels
This time we decided to venture to the chef choices /specials and unfortunately were disappointed.
I never want to be a 'Karen' because I am a chef so I know some nights you're understaffed or some things just happen.
The share platters were nice, we have the mac and cheese balls with bacon jam, bruschetta & aranchini.
They were all delicious however the bread was over toasted and sliced too thin, it kind of just fell apart and was hard to eat, same with the garlic bread for $10 it was dry, small and hard.
Not sure if they had an off night or what happened but the gnocchi did not taste like gnocchi at all
It was gluggy, powdery and had no texture of gnocchi at all.
Coles gnocchi tastes better and for $26 at micko's it's kind of disappointing.
The salmon dish has potential however the salmon was majorly overcooked, hard and way too chewy and the skin was burnt
The potatoes tastes a bit old
The best part of the dish was the wasabi & yuzu mayo and the greens
I will still be back because I love this pub I just will find it hard to have chef selections again
The wines and cocktails were absolutely delicious and most of the staff we encountered were lovely and really helpful and apologetic.
Beautiful atmosphere and friendly staff although the food took its time getting out and the starters we ordered came out after the mains.
Went for lunch.
Menu changed. Nothing 2 of us would eat left on it. Wouldn't remove items from adult meals.
Kids burgers are full of fancy salad that kids wouldn't touch. Real struggle to convince them to eat even once I picked out the 'gross salad'
Having my birthday lunch here, friendly staff, delicious food, amazing vibe, great atmosphere, value the $$$. Recommend! It is a great place for occasions and party, nice open space outside, definitely will try to check in with their accommodation next time! Keep it up guys!
No service. Waited to be served and waited for the food for 1 hour. Staff in kitchen quite rude when questioned. Don't know the meaning of hospitality nobody was organising.
Shame cos food even tho it was cold was good.
Comfortable place to stay, great food. Love staying here usually. But after a long day of travel, the only thing that isn't great.is the kids screaming at the top of their lungs constantly at 10.30pm!
Great meal and atmosphere definitely coming back and want to stay a night.
Only thing was our table at dinner time was very sticky.
It's a nice place but Saturday night, I waited too long for a drink, and the three functions were all sqeezed in to one area
Very nice atmosphere, clean rooms, nice Irish pub with a warm vibe. Good beer selection and food. Recommended if you're looking for a place between the McLaren Vale and the coast.
Lovely afternoon great atmosphere for all ages the band INCREDABLES were playing bloody brilliant great to listen to they had a very diverse set of music will definatly go again hopefully the band is there too. They do.have other bands every week we'll have to check them out as well
Live cozy place. Second time here. Place is absolutely lovely, the service is fantastic and the food is absolutely awesome.
Super atmosphere, very busy. Plenty of outdoor space, lovely gardens too. A young couple was enjoying their wedding reception in a private room, very nicely done out.
Menu was good and reasonably priced. There was an extensive range of beers to be enjoyed.
Down sides, no children's play area and the loos could certainly be made more inviting.
Overall, will definitely be going back.
