McLaren Hotel

Been here quite few times, the dining environment and services are very good, the food was good except the bitter meat which was burnt too much destroyed the whole meal on the plate. I was there about 12pm, was think to have the fish, but the waiter said that the fish didn’t deliver to hotel yet, so had to order the steak.

Just had my Daughters Birthday lunch there. All the meals were beautiful, fantastic steaks. Very friendly, helpful Staff. Thankyou, we will definately come back again.

Visiting from Victoria. My husband and I shared the duck and the lamb. Both were delicious and we could not pick a favourite. Service was good. Highly recommend.

Came back to get a the two selections of cheese again and I was quite disappointed. The serving of cheese, nuts and fruits compared to the first time was a crazy difference… where was the cheese? I saw 2 slithers… was a little pathetic. Definitely would not share this and probably won’t be returning. Consistency is key guys.

Great place on a warm day to watch the Tour Down Under. Good food, good music and plenty to drink.

Score based on the food as the selection of local wines and craft beers was amazing, lovely pub inside and out and great staff however the meals were very disappointing! Pan fried gnocchi was dreadful. Gluey texture, heavy and soggy wet gnocchi pieces which ranged in temperature from hot to cold and not fried off swimming in an unpleasant oily spinach sauce topped with bitter, rancid walnuts. Burger was better but served with cold chips.

Always nice meals and lovely staff. It has had more improvements to the outside which make it much easier coming in from the back of the building. I like the lighting so us older people can see when going to and from the car park.

We just popped in for a couple of beers.had a little bit of friendly banter with the barman. Enjoyed our visit

Lovely atmosphere, excellent customer service and staff. Let down by the meals, very expensive considering my beef schnitzel was deep fried and overcooked, should have sent it back in hindsight, the fish was very greasy too. Don’t recommend the food, won’t be coming back as there are better restaurants in the Main Street.

What a fantastic pub. Great food, great service and an amazing setting. Food is on the pricier end for pub meals but totally worth every cent due to the top notch experience. Thanks for a lovely memorable lunch.

Called in for pre wedding drinks with my family from England in tow. Good selection of beers and the young lady who served us and took a photo of us all was fantastic. Will be back when I'm McLaren Vale again.

Many places shut for dinner Sunday to Thursdayin the Vale.not the McLaren Vale Hotel, they are pumping, with a wide well priced local drinks selection and a great meal selection that you can find in most pubs. BUT the way it is prepared and presented beats most pubs. Highly recommend the snittie or the fish and chips.
Will give them five stars when the renovations are complete.
We will be back.

This was THE BEST parmy I ever had. 10 out of 10. Loved it.

Unfortunately our order did not make it to the kitchen, we arrived at 6pm, at 7.50 I questioned it with a staff member who came back to say for some reason the docket was not in the system. I was surprised all the staff that walked past us and looked at us or kept asking if we wanted more drinks didn't check on the food order as they could see we were there for quite some time. We ate much later than planned. Staff were apologetic and to be honest it may taint my thought to return soon.

Haven’t been in many years and was impressed. Great verandah area, excellent service and the food was amazing. Will be returning.
