Longview Vineyard reviews
57The staff made my Day Spa experience an enjoyable one. Came out very relaxed. Thankyou Longview Vineyard. Hope to be back for also a stay and lunch as well.
We drove in to a beautifully modern cellar door complimenting the equally stunning landscape. The staff welcomed us warmly and sat us next to the feature fireplace central to a bright, open cellar door with views of vines and gums. The set menu was flawless. We started with an antipasto platter of warm, crisp bread, cold cuts and pickled veg that incited the palate. At this point the brilliant staff offered a tasting of whites and reds. They were both knowledgeable and conscious of timing. The entrée was a shared selection of two pastas. The first was an earthy mushroom farfalle delivered silky and al dente. The second a show-stopping pork sausage gnocchi thoughtfully caramelised. This one was worth the price of admission. We would have left content at this point. We expected a set menu to be brought out at the whim of the kitchen, however the staff frequently asked if, and when we were ready for the next course. The main was a generous lamb shank that fell apart like Roger Federer on the mic after winning the Aus Open. Longview served nothing but Aces. We’ll be back - hopefully they defend their title. 10/10. Championship point.
We recently had lunch at the Cellar Door and loved everything about it! The staff, food & view was Highly recommended!
As someone who has worked in Hospitality for a quite some time now, I was truly appalled by the service we received whilst attending a lunch with friends last Saturday.
I understand the venue had a serious brake down in communication between their departments, but these things should never affect guest experience the way it did. Don't accept big groups in your cellar door if you cant handle them.
For anyone wondering, our friends who organized for us to have lunch at Longview Winery, were meant to get married there before COVID-19 restrictions came in, so they had some credit from the winery.
I would have thought somewhere as renowned as Longview, would have acknowledged this by giving outstanding service, but unfortunately they missed the memo.
Very disappointed, will certainly not be recommending this as an establishment to visit.
Wonderful experience. Stayed at the Lodge and couldn’t be a better place to wind down and relax.
Beautiful view from the villa suites. The set menu with dessert was delicious and worth the $$. The customer service was a little lacking. The tasting was nice but lacked informed knowledge and would have been nice to have been given a clean glass for the dessert wine we sampled after the reds.
Nice place to get away from the kids, nice wine and views. The only thing stopping this from being 5 stars…… no soap or body wash in shower, no pepper or salt to season your eggs for breakfast. No pod machine, a $300 investment would go a long way to those who stop using plunger coffee years ago. Now back to the positives great staff, clean rooms and nice spa
Special Mother's Day 4 course lunch - absolutely delicious with lovely wine and great service. Best way to be spoilt and enjoy the day! Thank you.
There has been an update to the facility since our last visit.
Good wines to taste and a small platter selection to compliment.
Stunning Venue. Fantastic views. Excellent down tempo relaxing vibes and well priced food and wine!
Delicious wines, and a beautiful venue. We had a great experience with Sam in Cellar Door, and the staff here are very knowledgeable and passionate about their wine.
This time a year ago was a magic retreat, now appears to have dropped standards. Guess we chalk this one up to Covid as seems to be the excuse of the season ️.
Pros:
Nice location with views to follow.
Cons:
•Curtains, carpet
and spare blanket had dirt/stains
•Mosquitos were able to continue to find their way into the room despite all doors/windows were closed and we had used spare clothing to block under doors
•Asking for second day breakfast supplies only offered more bacon - no extra eggs, juice or butter
We drove 20 mins out of our way on the way home to do a tasting and buy their Nebbiolo as we’ve had it before. Arrived at cellar door 4: 01pm to be told by 5 staff that they were closed despite there being a large table still outside and obviously not understaffed. Cellar Door guide says closes 5pm, their sign says 5pm and their FB page said 4: 30pm (they’ve now updated it). Anyway extremely disappointing that they didn’t want our custom and we won’t be recommending them to anyone at all. Inviting us in for a tasting and wine sales wouldn’t have been too much work but the staff clearly weren’t interested. I wouldn’t want my business run this way. Regret going out of our way to get there. Pike & Joyce and Murdoch Hill were amazing - go there instead. Great wine and much more accomodating staff!
Nice property, but not worth the price. Stayed in Pino Suite which I expected a far better experience. Only a locked door separating us from the next room, meaning we could hear every noise. Room was OK, nothing special.
At 10pm a water pump started right behind our bed, which the staff just told us to wait out, rather than come and try and to fix.
Didn’t even to get to taste their wine as check out at strictly 10am, but wine tasting starts at 11am, which is frustrating. Went into cellar door but they didn’t even offer a taste of anything prior to 11am.
Overall average experience for what I thought was going to be a nice retreat.
Lovely, light-hearted wine tasting with Lily and Sam with a spot on tasting platter. Cheers Longview.
We stayed for one night in the spa suite, came in early for a tasting which was fantastic and lucky us, being a Monday we had the place to ourselves. We stayed in the spa suite overlooking the vineyard, it is such a beautiful spot. I can't wait to visit again.
My wife and I are staying with Family in Macclesfield. We walked 3km's to get to the winery. Beautiful walk. When we got there at 240pm, we were told that we could not be served lunch. Walked back to Maccy and went to the pub. Maybe it's the colour of my skin or the way we were dressed. There were other people having lunch. The older lady that was the manager was not very welcoming. 5 stars for the walk. 1 star for the winery just so I can post this message
Great wine, excellent service, very comfortable rooms. Atmosphere is sophisticated with a nod to the rustic.
Highly recommend a visit and stay.

Amazing wines, great prices, especially if you become a member. Accommodation is very nice and the provisions spot on. Lovely service and very knowledgble of the qines and area.
