Lone Star Rib House & Brews Gilles Plains reviews
28Thank you to the amazing, outgoing and friendly manager, who went above and beyond for our group, we had an amazing night! Good music, great staff. Ribs n mash were the absolute best!
Food is alright, nothing too special though. The staff are fantastic and I must say the lady with the gorgeous short curly hair is absolutely everything and without her charismatic, energetic and gorgeous persona it wouldnt have been half as good. Baby back ribs were average. The chips also average. The alfresco area is really cute.
We were only half way through our entrees when the mains arrived. We felt rushed and would have liked to have been able to stay longer and have another drink.
Although the food was mostly good, the fries were cold and inedible. They did offer to replace them, but no point in getting them after the rest of the meal was finished. A discount would have been more appropriate.
The service was great, if a little over enthusiastic.
We then went to pay by card and were charged an extra. 65 cents. This added to a slightly disappointing experience.
We tried out one of the weekly specials. Very friendly service. Food was served fast. The chicken schnitzel was slightly overcooked and salad didn’t look very fresh. Overall, we thought the food was ok. We will be back to try out the ribs and other food on the menu.
I am not one to leave reviews for restaurants, however, this experience was extremely disappointing, especially with how we were treated after.
My family ordered a rump steak, burger, fish and chips and chicken schnitzel. For entrée, we had garlic bread.
• The garlic bread was hot and crunchy which we enjoyed.
• The rump was cold to the touch and chewy. We called a waitress over and politely informed her of the situation. She took our plate away and asked for it to be reheated. This was then returned to us, still cold. Nevertheless, we did not want to create any problems and continued to eat.
• The burger’s buns were cold and dry.
• Nothing wrong with the chicken schnitzel, however, I paid $3 for a small sauce for it to be cold.
• The fish was not fresh and had a slight aftertaste.
After the situation about the rump steak, we decided to not fuss over the food with the waitress and continue eating.
Once we were finished, we went to pay and one of the other waitresses asked us for feedback regarding the food. We said we didn’t really enjoy it and stated our reasons. The waitress was not pleased with the feedback, and instead of acknowledging it, she started indirectly implying to us that we were liars. This was extremely offensive as we were not asking for free food but simply providing feedback on our experience.
She mentioned that they have one of the best chefs working and pointed out that they have heat lamps to keep the food hot. A chef will know the difference between hot and cold food. Ours were cold.
She even said, ‘you seem like you didn’t enjoy the food, but you finished it’. I’m sorry, if I am paying nearly $100 for food, I will be finishing it. We tried to fix the rump steak situation, and it was not resolved properly.
She offered 10% off of our total bill, however, we refused and said no thank you. She continued to insist on offering the discount. I paid my bill and checked the receipt. No discount was offered.
Don’t ask for feedback if you are not willing to take on feedback.
What a wonderful waitress, Bianca was so great with the kids we had a 14th birthday celebrations a big table of kids and adults was just great, live music great food, great service!
Ordered the Texas Rib Ranger, shared with my son. Absolutely lovely meal. The meat fell off the bones easily, cooked to perfection. Tasted great, especially the bbq sauce, which was just the right quantity for our order. Also had a side of chips and coleslaw. Nice mix. All in all, it was a wonderful meal. Our hostess was a wonderful, happy lady, full of energy and life! It's refreshing to see a beautiful natured person, happy to interact with customers. We will definitely be returning to the Gilles Plains Lone Star Rib House.
