Largs Pier Hotel reviews
60 We just had a 2 night stay at this beautiful hotel for 2 separate functions.
Friday night cocktail party for nephews 21st birthday. The function team led by Carly were amazing. Food was absolutely delicious and plentiful.
Saturday night
Reunion dinner. Family from all over Australia attended and stayed at the hotel.
Food again was amazing.
It was a little bit of a wait for meals. We apologised as our Dinner booking was for 6 pm and we didn't order till 7.30 putting the entire team under extra pressure.sorry again kitchen staff.
Our night was full of fun, laughter, good eats & drinks. We again were looked after by a very patient team. Thank you.
Sunday morning breakfast of Eggs Benny (perfect in-house made holondaise) &Hasbrowns eaten on the deck overlooking the esplanade & jetty.
We highly recommend this hotel. If you are lucky enough to meet their hotel manager Katie as we did, you soon understand her entire team are hand picked.
We look forward to returning soon.
Had breakfast here and the meal was absolutely delicious and the services were very warm and friendly. Highly recommended
This is for the pub, not accommodation.
After going there most Fridays evenings for a meal for the past 6 x months, I have finally ditched them after last visit. The majority of the same staff who I see each week treated me and our family on each occasion as if they had never seen us before. Most are very young which is no issue as long as there is a demonstrated interest in the customer. Last week I asked for a table for us and they said “no we have no tables unless you can see any outside”. This is whilst 3 others were standing talking to each other behind the bar. There was no interest in trying to find something. So we are now at another spot and it is chalk and cheese in the service department. I cannot knock the food. Always good. Just very poor customer service from my experience.
Dropped by for dinner on a very quiet end of weekend night. Lots of bar and table staff who are very attentive. Good food quality.but the wait for the food when there were very patrons was so long we asked three times and eventually went to ask for our money back because the shine of the outing to the so well reviewed hotel had evaporated. They raced food out to us. Was the kitchen undermanned? Did they forget the order? There seemed to be no head waiter or supervisor to keep things on track. We won’t be going back.
Good pub food but a bit on the expensive side for what you get.
Great location which allows you to go for a stroll along the jetty afterwards. Easy enough parking as well.
Did wait a bit longer for food compared to similar establishments
Went there last night for dinner and was served up a delicious meal by friendly staff. Wife enjoyed her meal too, will return.
For one the service was awesome and when my son's pizza came out with onion on it when my partner asked for no onion. I didn't want to be that person. But the waitress (Chloe) was so understanding and with out any fuss went and got another one without onion, which was delivered earlier then she had said. I have worked in retail for over 20 years and she has great customer service skills. And the pizza looked amazing
Meal was absolutely delicious, pricing was unreal especially for Pensioners. Ny unreal i mean so well priced. Staff friendly and nothing was a bother, always greeted by a smile.
This hotel has charm.lovely beachside views. Didnt stay her. Had lunchtime meal tday. Fish n chips. So
fish suoer fat. I found unpleasant to eat.the salad was of wiry lettuce dry with fatty aoli style mayo as dressing which was rich n heavy.i was lookinf releief feom fried food with soft mixed lettuce n vinagerette. The chios are flat, steakhouse style, outside crispy, inside grease laden.why pot the salad.put it straight on th plate.iv phd about the chips n wiry salad b4. They cld do better. I wished chefs had good discerning palates n wld taste foods they prepare so they cn see these shortfalls.oh well.
Meal was delicious, but unfortunately we waited for almost an hour for our dessert, which we had ordered at the same time as our main. Other tables who had ordered long after us, got everything before us. We were one of the first dinner guests, and one of the last to leave, because of the long wait for dessert. No one kept us informed as to what was happening and we had to ask for our dessert 3 times. Great pity!
We stayed 1 night in a beautiful first floor corner room with breakfast on the balcony outside our room. Dinner on the deck with friends, fabulous weekend.
Beautiful old hotel, generally the meals were good. I happened to be the unlucky one with a piece of roo cooked to medium well in spite of asking for rare, and just to top it off the jus was almost inedible and had everything positively swimming. It tasted both burnt and vinegary and not in the least like the roo it was supposedly made with.
Have been here before with excellent food, so I reckon (hope) that it was just a once off. Everyone has a bad day here and there. This day was an especially poor one.
Three stars on past experience, otherwise I'd select one and consider it a good deed.
It's really very beautiful. Breakfast is an enticing thing for a place like this. Their food tastes good, doesn't look the greatest but I had a vegetarian fritter meal it was delicious but was spare. Coffees really quite. A pub that does breakfast might need some time or encouragement to express interest or competence for breakfast enthusiasm. I felt a little daffy in my breakfast cheer, the service was very 6pm pub without the familiarity. I think if you were after a traditional breakfast it would be quite good. The cook is competent. I'd try it again
Thought I'd give this place another go after a very average experience a couple of years ago. Still very average. Breakfast really not that great. Very expensive for what you get. 5 star prices for pub quality. Location is great.
Signed Up To Get A Rewards Card, I Drove My Friend There For Her Free Drink For Her Birthday Plus They Gave Her A $20 Voucher For Food, (cant wait for my birthday), I Also Received $5 For Signing Up For A Rewards Card,
Beautiful lunch for my Mum's 87th Birthday with picturesque views of the ocean. Lovely, friendly and efficient staff. Have been there on many occasions and always consistent with their service. Wonderful reception when booking, accomodating a special request for a table that had space for Mum's walker. We'll done, will definitely be going back
The duck and lamb dishes were beautiful a brilliant experience along with the Panna Cotta, Compliments to the Chef. Underwhelmed sadly at waitresses interactions, seemingly anti social and cold. Otherwise the Largs is thriving as always.
Beautiful, majestic building with large rooms, many common spaces and olde worldly charm. The views from the balcony are fantastic, but beware, balcony smoking is allowed and can ruin the mood if the breeze is blowing the wrong way.
Went for dinner last night and waited for 1hr and 15 min to get our meal. When it finally arrived it was only average. Staff didn't even apologise for the delay. Won't be going back again.
We put the boat on anchor 50m from the shore and came in for fish and chips. A great spot. I think there may be tandem skydives onto the beach soon?
