Koko Black - Adelaide reviews
40 Can't give lower than one star or I would. Chocolate range looks gorgeous but I didn't end up buying, for health reasons. Watched the sales person use her gloved hand, not her ungloved one, to tap the sales screen, then went to pick up my chosen chocolates with the same hand. Both staff seemed amazed when I objected; didn't apologise and didn't even seem to see anything wrong with what they were doing.
No sale made and I'll be buying my chocolate somewhere more careful with hygiene.
Very disappointed.just a few days before Christmas and the music was punk rock - not the ambience we were hoping for. Weak tea and a small selection of food, no scones!
The chocolate varieties here are simply irresistible. A must come when you are in Adelaide. The chocolate drink is good too.
It used to be my favourite cafe for drinking hot chocolate. In my last visit, I got a dirty menu with lots of stains, a very watery and taseless hot chocolate and very indifferent service.
The hot chocolate was tasteless and very milky. The paper menu was messy and full of stains on it. When I mentioned that, no one cared.
Very lack of communication and table not cleaned 10min after seated
Over charged for a hot chocolate and 3 chocolate
Supposed to be $14.90
But charged at over $16
Went with a friend of mine here to go get some coffee and the people were so lovely, sweet and funny absolutely Gorgeous people, lovely coffee and a wonderful atmosphere, definitely check this place out and go show the staff here some love they so deserve it?
Lovely spot located in the Adelaide Arcade. The chocolates are sublime especially their hot chocolates. Love the ambience and music (when they have it on). I gave it 4 stars because the table service is a bit inconsistent and the top deck seems to be always closed. Other than that, it’s a great spot to enjoy hot chocolate and much more. My favourite is the Belgium hot chocolate
The most amazing customer service I’ve ever had! Renad really looked after me and helped me pick out a gift. Thank you Renad and Koko Black.
Fantastic service, was served by a fantastic team of people!
Very understandable that despite being short staffed they made the best of the situation.
I do hope that they get more staff soon as it is a shame to not be able to use the full amenities (upstairs). It seems like head office does not care about their staff suffering poor direction.
Chocolates are fantastic- I will be back again, I hope the other reviews understand what truly being under-employed is like in the hospitality industry. They need to take more care before they pass judgement on the staff.
Their Easter range is a treat! And after recovering some as a gift I can’t wait to see what they produce next.
Good gluten free chocolate is so hard to find. It’s so nice to have very knowledgeable staff.
Nice place to grab a coffee or some quality chocolate, the service was quick and the staff were friendly.
Great hot Chocolate, great service, and a special treat from the wait staff. Thoroughly enjoyable visit. Yes we are going back!
I love visiting this cafe with my granddaughter, it’s a favourite thing to do, but the last two visits have been a total disappointment.
They now close the upstairs which is my granddaughter’s favourite spot to sit, our visit today at 11: 45 pm was met with a menu of only very ordinary oat cookies and croissants with jam.that’s it? No other good available.
Needless to say we left to find a café that served food.
We will go back again but if it disappoints again it will be our last.
Visited Koko Black to buy a gift chocolate box. It was peak hours, but one of staff, Amanda, kindly explained differences between gift package and recommended chocolates according to my description. She was very professional and friendly. Will definitely visit again.
The ice coffee is to die for. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.
Today 27/2/22 had Flat white coffees, was rather bitter and not the best.
Chai is so watery and the brownie lacked a flavour. Had to leave the chai after cooked of sips.
Service and hospitality was excellent though.
Sunny mango chill is my go to drink from here. Cinnamon roll could do with more frosting and serve fresh.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. When a slight mix up was discovered, their response was outstanding and offered extra chocolates! Very impressed with Rebecca who served us!
Took them 20 minutes to get me a cinnamon roll. Food, I'd understand, but cinnamon roll thats already made? C'mon
Great coffee. Great outdoor seatings. But, waiting 25 mins for a simple order was unacceptable.
