Kiin reviews
24Great food and service. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We had the feed me menu for 2 people. The only slight comment I have, is the courses were very rushed. At one point we had 4 different plates put in front us and because we sat at the bar it was cramped. Other than that it was great!
Just wow! Flounder and Pork belly fabulous, easiest 5* ever. Kiin beer on draft as well was perfection.
We’ll, this was a surprise. Kiin is in a very quiet part of the CBD, yet it was close to full on a Wednesday in early January, which we took as a good sign.
The food (degustation) was first class and very well explained. We’ll do al later carte next time, but that was a good way to be introduced to Kiin’s style.
The staff were excellent. Their knowledge was tops, their passion obvious and there was always someone nearby to tend to any queries or needs.
Very interesting wine list and we tried some new wines to our delight.
Kin is our new favourite and we’ll be back.
Absolutely amazing work done to the kiin team tonight came here for my birthday with my partner and wow I was blown away by the service and the quality of food these guys do the flavour and atmosphere was outstanding.
And most of all was the koko loko cocktail.
Definitely will be back thanks guys for a wonderful night.
Kiin overrall was a nice dining experience. Because we were a group of 6, we did the 'Kit Waa' $79 per person. I don't think that I would like to do that option again - I would prefer to pick our own dishes as I did not feel the cost matched what was provided.
Food that was delicious: Prawn and lychee pop stick, red curry cheeseburger, charred chicken green curry and twice-cooked scotch fillet.
For the 'mains', it was three dishes (two chicken curries/one scotch fillet). Three dishes between 6 people. Am not really convinced this was enough for the entire party. But with that being said, the chicken curry and cheeseburgers were stand out dishes.
Food that was average: Mushroom laab, stir-fried rice cakes and pork crackle, green apple som tum. Boring. These dishes did not land with anyone.
Wow! As in ‘disappointing wow’
… when you book a dinner for 6p to celebrate your daughter’s birthday and surprise engagement day before… and order copious share plates and then time for ‘mains’ …yup…sides were awesome … pumpkin…chips… broccoli… etc … all devoured before 20 mins later our order of scotch fillet arrives!? !
And when I ask with a smile to the waiter delivering the said beef…”I’m surprised and disappointed that the meat had come out after the condiments… his response was “madam can’t you see how busy we are? …And you need to understand that a 500g steak takes a while to cook! …. My response… yes of course but would much rather wait for the protein to be served before the accompaniment’s? … his response… “ well I’m a vegetarian so wouldn’t know? ! ”
I rest my case
Must say … Big acolades to the Best server there … Tuoy? (apologies for incorrect spelling) … he Made our night and is always the shining light when we dine there… but unfortunately will be a long time coming
Meal was fantastic. Really enjoyed it. Had the full banquet which the kitchen cannot be faulted for. Food and drinks were 5 star.
However, reduced rating because we were rudely pushed out of the door, forced to pay at the table before desert had even been served and reminded on several occasions that our time had been over extended. Clearly over booked. Not what you expect given the top dollar price you are paying.
Dampened what otherwise would have been a great evening out. Only just tolerable as we were with friends - but would have been totally unforgivable if it was a business dinner. Would have been quite embarrassed if it was a big night with clientele.
The nine course banquet was pre booked, when booking, not like it was a surprise. Need to fix /adjust their scheduling given the number of courses and volume of food.
Definitely no offer of after dinner coffee etc.quite unacceptable for such an upmarket and quality food offering within adelaide.
Absolutely outstanding, delicious, mind blowing food! The lychee pop is extraordinary, as is the green apple and cucumber salad, the tiger lamb pasties, the beef in penang master stock -next level! I cant wait to return so I can experience more of what Kiin has to offer.
Had a wonderful lunch yesterday. Food was delicious and the service was just lovely - I was expecting the food to be excellent but you can never rely on matching service - wait staff & others there were kind, knowledgable and appropriately attentive. Gosh it's nice when you have that - its so rare! Thank you!
Had the $98 set menu last night. Total disappointment. Started off with great two small dishes (lychee then oyster), then to nice kingfish crudo and an ok little burger, but after that it all went downhill. The two veggie dishes just tasted very similar you might as well served them as one dish. Both were spicey, sour, sweet, just like the other small dishes. The main dish - seafood curry - was just another sour, sweet, spicey dish. It was full of little prawns with long strings (tails?) that we were not sure whether to eat them (rather unpleasant) or just leave them in the bowl. The muscles looked big but when you opened them the meat was quite small, mushy and tasteless. There were some pieces of fish but that's about it. Lots of sauce, again tasted quite similar with the other dishes - spicey, sour, sweet. Not sure why the chef decided to serve the dishes that tasted all the same where there were other choices in the menu that could be put in the mix. In other places a set menu tends to have a variety of tastes to expose people to what's actually on offer. So jealous to see people at the other tables that went with the ala carte menu. We should have done that! Sadly, it wasn't a good first-time experience even though the staff were very nice.
Gorgeous interior, top notch service and delicious and exciting menu. Cocktails were yummy also - would recommend the Bangkok Betty.
Food was exceptional along with attentive, friendly staff. Had the feed me option which was the perfect amount of food. The salad and dessert were a highlight. They also do very good cocktails.
Dining out is not only about the food but the experience and all of the aspects. Went out on a rare night with friends for dinner only to discover that we were seated at a communal /shared table. Apparently this is due to the number of people in the booking. Had I known this would be the seating I wouldn’t have gone as I really wanted a private conversation with friends. Didn’t really want the group next to me to hear my personal life…. Anyway overall food and service etc.food flavours awesome! Serving size is extremely small. I will not take my husband… he would want to stop at McDonalds if we didn’t select at least 10 dishes to share. I’m saying that though but with the meat or beef steak being $95 it then becomes extremely pricey to eat and be satisfyingly full. Lucky for me I’m a small eater. Seafood dish had three tiny prawns. And and a handful of mussels with a small bit of fish. Be prepared for small dishes at high prices! Service good but not great.basically inconsistent. Ambience and decor nice bit weird on the crockery selections… don’t really go with the beautiful interior design and fit out. I always have the question to myself at the end of the meal and experience. Would I go back? Unfortunately that’s a no from me.
Love coming here. The food is always exceptional and the cocktails are killer!
Staff are super friendly and have no issues accommodating dietary needs.
Highly recommend the Thai red curry cheeseburger slider!
Such a fantastic restaurant in Adelaide, gorgeous Thai flavours, the curry Cheeseburger and Lamb Pasties were stunning and the Steaks cooked to perfection, finished over charcoal and served with a Thai twist are to die for! 10 out of 10 for me!
Went there tonight for belated mothers day dinner. Amazing customer service and food is simply stunning. Every dish is packed with flavours and thai inspired. We ordered 5 medium sized dishes and two mains to share for five people and it was the perfect amount of food! Easily the best thai fusion restaurant I've ever been in adelaide. 10/10 and will definitely come back
Literally one of the best Asian restaurants in adelaide - a little bit pricey but the food is just simply amazing. Decent wine list with great service and cozy atmosphere.
Adelaide well overdue for a new dining experience like this. Exceptional service, creative flavours and an impeccable setting. Had a fantastic night and will definitely be back.
First time attending Kiin as we had heard great things.
The food was absolutely delicious, could not fault it at all - however we think that because we were seated outside we were somewhat forgotten - we had to ask for our food menu and our food was far too spaced out on arriving.
Will definitely come again though.
An amazing experience. The staff were very professional and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious will be back and recommend to everyone.
