Keith Stephenson Park reviews
36Great grass areas for picnics. New playground is architecturally and aesthetically pleasing, but lacks practical play equipment, and relies on imaginative play which doesn't suit all kids. "Running track" aka path through the middle of the play space is a hazard, and the lack of shade hasn't been improved with the upgrade.
Beautiful park very well maintained gardens. Nice clean restroom. Great children's playground.
Lovely kept park, lots of lush greenery, plenty of shaded areas in the warmer months.
Attended an event here and highlighted the beautiful surrounds of the park.
Picnic areas under cover and scattered seats around the park
Toilets are adequate
Parking space accommodates groups
Was looking for a nice reserve area to stop and enjoy our lunch.
This park is well situated just off the main road and allows easy access for entry and exit
Has rotunda and plenty of seating
Very well maintained and you could spend plenty of time here if you wanted to stretch you legs or allow the kids to burn off some energy.
Walking trails.it's great
Looked for a place to park caravan and have lunch very hard to find somewhere but did eventually
Good playground can't wait for the update also any special day of the year there is normally something on
Great choice of venue for the fantastic carols and fireworks. Great family fun to be had around the park. Disappointed with lack of disabled parking tho
Needs shade sales. Dogs must be on leads, toilets ok, picnic area good lots of places to sit but bbqs didn't work.
Like this place often call in and have a break take lunch or tea and drinks and just relax and enjoy the atmosphere
Nice park but the toilet facilities could be a lot cleaner (lots of bugs and cobwebs) and there is virtually no shade either at the play equipment or near the lake, so any day over 28 degrees makes for a pretty unpleasant experience. Can't stay for long on warmer days. Parking is pretty great although often fills up completely on weekends and there is often a coffee van onsite. Overall a decent meeting place if the weather is milder.
The adelaide festival did a great thing putting the koi garden inflatable fountains here.kids of all ages absolutely loved it. Great to be part of the festival free. Great picnic areas lots of shade.
It is a great open space. So much space too move and a good little play ground for up to 10yrs old. There is a toilet block close by. Only negative is there are no fences and a creek right next to the play ground.
It was very crowded and my asd son couldn't enjoy himself because there were lots of people there
Absolutely beautiful park. It has a fantastic playground for kids and big kids at heart. Clean amenities and lots of shady spots to set up. It has a rotunda if you want to use that, you'll need to get there early. Is a great place for a party or picnic alike.
Wonderfully laid out parkland with lovely mature eucalyptus trees and smaller Magnolia trees. Ample space. It also boasts a picturesque lake. Toilet facilities.
Family friendly park plenty of space toilets on site and a fish & chip shop right across the road
Nice park with walking paths, bbq places and access to toilets. Well maintained facilities and the park itself.
It is fantastic to have a function there. With all the facilities and playground equipment available for children. All round fantastic grounds.
Here are some good photos I took of my 2 fav Mallards who always see me and know there getting bird seed not bread to eat.also here is an update to them baby wood ducks I posted a month ago and also some new baby birds have shown up.
Keith Stephenson Park is centred on Western Flat Creek, at the junction of Flaxley Rd and Adelaide Rd, Mt Barker. This is a family orientated very popular park in the centre of Mt Barker. A walking and cycle grack follows the creek. A playground for young children, bbq facilities and toilets available. The council keeps the lawns in good order. A car park is available off Flaxley Rd. Very enjoyable day with the family.
