Karen’s Diner reviews
37Great banter with our servers, perfect for those that can let go and let loose. Pleasantly surprised that there were games played and how interactive it was. A good time was had!
The staff didn’t entertain with us at all and the food was edible but not worth the money. I do not recommend
Magnificent food, tasty and full of flavour. Service was hilarious. Not recommended if you don't like profanity. Interactive dining so make sure you're ready to cheer and clap!
The reviews are all wrong. The food was/is good.
What we weren't expecting there would so many tweenies celebrating birthday's. Expected more of adult only set up.
Staff were still in character though.
Food, experience was what was expected. A fun couple of hours. Gone once probably wouldn't go again.
My family and I ate at Karen’s diner this evening, and all agreed that we definitely enjoyed ourselves. It wasn’t the average dining experience, but worth the time as we laughed, enjoyed our meals, participated in multiple activities and were kept incredibly entertained. The youngest of our party was a little upset by the staffs antics, but as soon as they realised, their entire mood shifted and they were gorgeous towards her, to the extent that she was able to walk away with a laugh. Very talented performers and great food with a good range of vegan options, I’m excited to come back!
Not what we expected and did not live up to the hype (Melbourne was a way better experience). Definitely not what you see online. Food was below average and way overpriced.
The food was delicious and the service was great, they're definitely committed to the bit though so don't expect a smile.
The atmosphere was great, but a little overstimulating for anyone with sensory sensibilities. Too loud to have a proper conversation and so many neon lights, some uncomfortably bright depending on where you're seated.
Stevo and Damo were absolutely revolting. PMSL. Wasn’t expecting it but the burgers and onion rings were great. DO NOT go to Karen’s unless you expect to be traumatised
Didn’t get the rude service I expected, was very disappointed about the experience. Food was a waste of money. Chips were cold and hard, burgers were very dry. $70 dollars for 2 burgers and 2 milkshakes, was definitely not worth it
A once only experience for me.
Cannot see how they will survive as people are not going to patronise this place.
Food is just ok and slow coming out.
Do not go if you are easily offended.
Booked for my son’s birthday - the venue was at his request as he’d heard about it on social media.
After being made to wait outside to read the “rules” before being let in, we then had the “f” bomb dropped - in front of what were very clearly children - and when I pointed it out, was told this is what they do, and I was a “dickhead”.
We reluctantly allowed ourselves to be directed to a table that could have been either of the tables pointed to (no table numbers, no settings), and we were then summarily ignored, while other patrons - only some of whom had received food, and many of which looked half-cut despite it only being 6pm) were being humiliated for entertainment purposes.
It was far too loud and (to be honest) far too mean-spirited.
I absolutely get the idea - which has the potential to work really well, even for all ages - but the staff just weren’t funny or clever enough to pull it off.
A good concept ruined by poor execution and a lack of appreciation for humorous abuse that doesn’t rely solely on one particular expletive.
We left without ordering (at the birthday boy’s request), when it appeared obvious we weren’t going to be fed any time soon.
We walked further down the road and ate at The Stag instead - great burgers and schnitties - and ended up having a great night.
I recommend going there instead - and then going home and watching an episode of Fawlty Towers to see how it *should* be done.
The worse food I have ever eaten, it took over one hour to get a drink. Customer service was funny, the one guy on the floor was very good. So called manager needs more training and please train your BOH staff.
DO NOT EAT HERE
Fun experience, food was good so was the drinks. Loved the decor inside the diner and the pre service entertainment
5 STAR! It was so entertaining and we all loved it! The food was amazing including the vegan burgers. It was so much fun, I will definitely be coming back
Best night I have had out in Adelaide in a long time! Will definitely be back!
Staff were extremely funny, if you can’t take a joke don’t come here! Clearly by other reviews people don’t understand the concept or didn’t read the rules when booking, This is an interactive experience and not for the light hearted!
Food was amazing 10/10 and quick to come out.
The food is surprisingly tasty here. However the novelty of our sneering waitress and a rude yelling waiter wore off really quickly. The "music" decibels physically assault your eardrums. The gimmickry is too simplistic and repetitive to warrant a return visit, once is plenty! Can't see this business being around for too long ️
Honestly I had the best time, if you’re a person that doesn’t enjoy Aussie banter don’t attend. Food was amazing and they know how to put on a show. If you’re looking for a good night I’d highly recommend this place!
Burger was good but the chips were unseasoned. Was bombarded by unsanitary practises. The menus they gave us were dirty and they have no idea what hygiene is there.
Omg love this place I first walked in and got screamed at by tillie and then did the catwalk everyone loved me and now they all are my besties I love them especially Sarah Sarah was awesome I love them so much when I was leaving I said love you all blew kisses and everything I love you Karen’s ️️
