Hong Bao Korean restaurant reviews
36A nice little restaurant, its kina hidden, but do go in and try the food, you won't be sorry.very generous portions, and authentic Korean food, i love there kimchi fried rice and, kimchi stew. It is packed on weekends for lunch, so you might need to book, it gets very busy.
Been there twice now and got the private room at the back cause of the size of our group. You know the place must be good when you hear all the diners speaking Korean
I really looked forward to eat some Korean food in here, but the black bean noodle was overcooked so the noodle was too soggy. The bleached hair woman who is taking the order was really unkind. She seems like she doesn't want me to be there. I was so disappointed. I really don't want to go there again.
This is one of Adelaide's hidden gems.
Good service, amazing Korean food, but can get very busy. So booking may be necessary at peak times. Crispy boneless chicken is my recommendation. Warning, once you have Hong Bao chicken you will think KFC is rubbish!
Frequented by Koreans, always a good sign of good food. If you lucky, they will be playing K-Pop on the 4K wall screen.
I dont know why my review is deleted, hope it was not by the owner. Used to be a huge fan of hongbao but i am SO DISAPPOINTED and will never come back again. I would recommend other korean restaurants. The noodle in black bean pasta was too overcooked so i even didnt finish it and sauce was so watery which is not usual. It was same to the sauce for Fried battered pork. They were so watery literally like water.
And everytime i visited there a staff with bleached hair was always unkind. I dont know why she is working there cos she looks so unhappy with her job, doesnt even reply or look back when customers call her, so we had to shout so that everyone in the restaurant could hear what we wanted. No one doesnt care customers inside, and we just gave up asking them. Do you know what my friend said on the day? I told him to ask for more side dishes if he wanted but he said "No i dont want to. She is really not kind". Shame on you.
Great Bibimbap, delicious kimchi and the crispy king oyster mushrooms is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten.
My personal top 1 Korean cuisine in Adelaide. Both authentic and welcoming vibes, it really sets you in an environment emulating a restaurant in real Korea. Also the widest range of Korean food you can find in this city.
The second best korean chicken I have ever eaten in South Australia. The other food was nice too but the chicken parts are always different. Sometimes U only have 3 legs and a lot of chicken breast. I might think they just scale them not depends on what parts they are. I have ordered half and half one whole chicken without any additional fee. The size was huge enough for two people or more. The price wasn’t that costly. Good to both eat out and take away.
Try fried black bean noodle in a big plate and sweet sour pork! This place is Modernised Chinese food restaurant. Nice!
Food is delicious korean/chinese food with korean staff. Simple restaurant. Seats about 30 people maximum in 3 rooms.reasonably priced, parking behind restaurant licensed with korean beer, shochu and soft drinks. Service a little slow but definately friendly and eager to please.while we were there a constant stream of korean/ chinese diners. A hidden gem, go there and you will be glad you did!
Foods quite delicious however very rude staff. Now before you think it might be misunderstanding due to language barrier, let me assure you i speak Korean 100% fluently. I doubt I'll be coming back here again.
Been here too many times with my family. Not too bad, really like the sweet and sour fried mushrooms
Real Korean style Chinese restaurant, if you know what I mean. I like their jengban jajangmyun with seafood and sweet and sour pork. My hubby liked jjambbong as well. Our kid likes kid's jajangmyun. Very yummy and addictive! The place is kid friendly, with children's books to read. Foods are always served without too much wait. We used to think their opening hour was unreliable as they were often closed when we visited but since late last year that never happened! (maybe their new opening hour is working really well for the chef finally so he can keep the shop open during the official opening hours!?) we are regular customer here and we would keep visiting them. Oh. I almost forgot to mention their pickle is quite yummy, too!
I echo what the others are saying: this is the best little Korean restaurant out here in the 'burbs.
I was told this was the best Korean restaurant in adelaide. The portion size was good but all the food tasted bland. The sweet and sour pork wasn’t crunchy and he sauce just tasted sour. The pork leg was dry and tasteless. The only two items that tasted normal was the seafood noodle soup and the seafood pancake. But I could of ordered those at a different Korean restaurant for the same price but better taste.
