Hong Bao Korean restaurant

I really love the Korean food here! As a Korean, it’s near authentic experience here. I always ordered the fried pork, and black bean noodle and seafood soup. Those are 3 dishes I will definitely recommend and are the iconic dishes to get at this restaurant.

Give this a go when you're in the neighborhood! The food is a mix of Korean and Chinese, which still tastes really nice though there are some differences in ingredients. The seafood pancake is a highlight, with a lot of seafood, crispy and lovely sauce. Beef rib soup is delicious, the ribs are broken down & cut in small pieces unlike other places, with some Chinese apples as well. Bibimbap is really yummy. However, please don't order fried chicken if you are looking for authentic Korean fried chicken. We also love that they have word search books, we really enjoyed doing them while waiting for the food!

We had the Kimchi pancake, Soft Tofu soup and some fried chicken.so good. Been here a few times and the quality is always on point. Reasonably priced and good size servings!

I ordered black bean noodle but they used frozen udon noodle instead of using proper black been noodle.

Original Fried chicken is too dry, kimchi pancake is too sour and not crispy also roasted pork with vegetables please don’t give me Chinese cabbage it doesn’t match with dish. I’m so disappointed about the food quality.

Incheon feeling all over! I love this restaurant, every time I come here it feels like I have gone straight back to korea. The Tang su yuk was all I expected and the kimchi jon (pancakes) were fantastic, especially in this cold rainy period. The biggest plus about Hong Bao is how family orientated they are. A great place to take family and friends. I will always come here whenever I visit Adelaide. Go a bit offbeat sometimes. It's not all about K-BBQ ;)

Absolutely my favourite Korean restaurant! Everything was good and delicious. The owner is always friendly and nice?

Terrible food, small portion for the price, sauces are diluted and not enough amount, not freshly cooked, noodle had just few pieces of vegatables and meat inside sauce, taste terrible. Wasted money.

The taste of the chicken was delicious, the combination of flavours really good, friendly and fast service as well.

Only ordered takeaway Tangsuyuk 탕수육 for the first time. Disappointed. Batter was too thick and the direction to cut the pork was wrong. The sauce was so so, pineapple soaked in it? Sorry, won't come again.

Hong Bao was highly recommended by friends. Jajangmyeon was one of the best we have had in Adelaide. The original and soy korean friend chicken was also very good. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.

Tried the restaurant twice. The fried chicken is good. Bimbimbap is good. Service is bad. No smile and no response when you say thank you.

Jjam-ppong has so much less noodles than before, and really salty (I have a doubt whether chef actually taste it as it is amazingly salty). It has been my favourite menu, and the major reason to go to Hong Bao.
However, I would not go/order if there is no improvement.

This restaurant experience is ridiculous. They forgot my friend’s food and we waited an hour for it to arrive. I had finished eating already when my friend’s food arrived. It is completely not fair for us to wait for an extra hour for your food to arrive. When I tried to talk to one of the waitress, she just walked away without acknowledging me. And you know what, other than all that, the food doesn’t even taste that good! I ordered ginseng chicken soup. My chicken is ridiculously soft, taste like the precooked chicken in a vacuum packaging. The chicken bones simply breakdown and melt in your mouth, which gives a coarse texture and it is disgusting. I have made chicken soup at home before, and there is no way a chicken can be that soft even if you cook it for hours. Extremely disappointed in the restaurant will not come back again. I hope you reflect on our experience and think about how to improve customer experience. For instance, increasing the number of staffs, creating a order system that minimises the errors. Hope your service and food gets better in the future.

Small cozy shop with parking at the back. Doesn't fit many customers. So definitely have to book first. Kimchi and seafood pancake was delicious and crispy. Sizzling pork was flavoursm and not too sweet. Jajeongmeon was a huge decent portion. And it's got the authentic saucey flavour. It's not too salty, just nice. Not a fan of the chicken feet unfortunately, it was so difficult to eat, and the tendons were tough so it doesn't fall off the bone easily. Crispy pork wasnt crispy at all either and not very flavoursm. Was just alright. Price is reasonable for the serving size.

Waited an hour for my soup.the kitchen forgot abt my order. When my friend finished hers, my soup finally arrived

The 깐풍기 (Kkanpoonggi) was absolutely DIVINE. An absolutely mouthwatering thick sauce - the dish is a combination between Kung Pao chicken and sweet and sour sauce. ABSOLUTELY recommend the party-sized 짜장면

Authentic Korean family food. Our favourites were the kimchi pancake, spicy rice cake and Korean fried chicken. The extreme spicy sauce sure was extremely hot. We loved it.

It's a great Korean restaurant with nice staff members and homely environment. The food is great with my personal favourite of Korean Fried Chicken.
