Hive Barossa reviews
32After reading reviews we settled on this busy cafe for a coffee. Watched the girl nuke the cake (steam aplenty) and coffee only average. Sad traveller.
Last 2 visits were not great.
Sausage roll was rubbery like it had been scorched in a microwave. Coffee were milks and weak with dirty glasses. And the brownie was reheated way too hot with the cream going all frothy and runny. Will not return. ️
Lovely venue with high quality food and drinks. Quite pricey though - a fairly small salad cost $15 - add a piece of frittata and you're set back $28. Coffee is good quality but 2 coffees and a piece of cake was $20. At least the quality of the ingredients and products was high and the cafe environment is clean and modern.
Update: went back for another piece of vegetable tart with salad. This time the quality was even better, and the pricing was also better. Tart and a generous serve of side salad was a far more reasonable $16, and the salad was dressed this time - a beautiful fig dressing. I enjoyed it so much I will be going back again. Cafe redemption - satisfied, happy customer.
Visited this cafe weeks ago but didnt have a chance to write a review. The cafe interior design attracted me so i walked in wanting a coffee, the girl at the counter saw me and turned her face away - yes i was ignored and no greeting. I then stood in front of her, she was chatting with another lady who seemed a bit older, they were chatting on and on like a fun conversation - yes i was ignored. After about a min, the older lady turned her face to me and asked "hey what can i get for u? ". It wasnt a welcoming and wasnt a warm feeling. But i did hear the girls greeting others who seemed to be the locals. The coffee was ok, not bad. Hope the service will be more friendly, less pretencious to new customers like myself. Dont let countrytown down in terms of its friendly and warm nature.
Had the eggs Benedict which were excellent. A very good hollandaise sauce and poached egg yolks were runny just as they should be.
Lovely eccectic&charming fresh food& creative meals place.need more of these in adelaide.food so fresh&filling! Lovely worker called "Marlo" wored off her feet, seems2know everyone&treats rest like family, a gem in this quaint town of gorgeus angaston in delightful barossa!
Super friendly staff and really nice food and coffee. Would recommend the zucchini and cranberry loaf. Often just a short wait for takeaway orders which is really helpful.
Lovely little coffee shop in main street of Anguston, great tasting meals and great service. Also has facilities for business lunch. Great place to check out if you in town.
Nice space and friendly staff. Efficient service. Great magazines to read. We dropped in for coffee only and can only rate for that. Coffee only 1 star. My long black had no crema, no flavour and could have easily been passed of as instant coffee. My partner's flat white was weak and milky. Won't be back for coffee.
Very disappointing. At 2.40pm we were asked to vacate the coffee shop with in the next 10 minutes as they will be mopping and cleaning the floor. I don't think the manager / owner? Has any hospitality experience. I can provide you with some information on how to run a catering business with out asking the customer to leave, your not a pub with a liquor licence, no your a coffeshop and don't take peoples money 20minutes prior to your closing time no you tell them sorry we are closed. 7 am till 2.30pm on a Saturday and during the vintage festival. Shame on you. How disappointing for a service provider in a well known wine region
Great coffee and beautiful venue, only downside was we felt rushed. We asked before ordering if we could have a coffee and she said yes but half way through finishing our coffee they were locking the doors and stacking chairs. I understand completely we were there over your time you had on the door maybe just next time tell us no. It was just a little disappointing from the previous experience I have had there. But definitely don’t pass up on coming here it’s a great little cafe and the staff are very friendly. Just some advice to take on board.
