Hahndorf Inn

Pretty disappointed with our meals, especially considering the price! The Bockwurst flavour was OK. Served with a dry sauerkraut, mash that was hard and a bit cold, almost like it was heated in the microwave. I ordered pepper gravy on the side which had a nice flavour with a punch but looked like it had sat around for a while, the pretzel was nice.
Beef schnitzel was a bit chewy, chips weren’t cooked properly. Salad was OK.
The atmosphere on the ‘walk in’ side was underwhelming, would be good if the German musicians moved around the venue. Service from the staff was good but I wouldn’t return in a hurry.

Great live music, food was delicious and the feeling was welcoming. Definitely need to go!

We were not impressed here. Chips were beyond average (we left half a bowl full), limited gluten free items however we were glad for what they had.
Lovely inn but the music was so loud it was uncomfortable.
Food is overpriced for the standard given. I can get better food from my local fish n chips (and they aren't much better).
We won't be back but it should be noted that the snags were nice. Probably a good spot for a drink

After reading all of the good reviews we decided to try this place for a Thursday lunch. We both ordered chicken schnitzels, mushroom gravy and one cheese kranksy. The food came out within a few minutes of ordering (it arrived before our single bottle of mineral water). Sadly it was one of the worst schnitzels I’ve ever eaten, even my husband left half of his on the plate. The mushroom gravy had only one giant slice of mushroom in it and it was so thick you needed to spoon it out. The kranksy looked like it was heated in a microwave. The highlight was the “garden salad” but sadly it was so small (served in what you sometimes get small gravy in at a pub). An inedible meal for $75. Don’t waste your money eating here. On a positive, the waitress was lovely

Food was great. Had the beef spicy parm and ribs. The seating is hard and uncomfortable. The music was nice and added to the historical ambience.

I love this place. Unfortunately when we went there 2 out of 5 beers were not available but whatever we tried were delicious. Main attraction is definitely the fun, live, traditional music. Whether you are sitting outside or inside, it’s really amazing.

When visiting Adelaide, I recommend a day trip to Hahndorf. This in is super tasty food and Booz wise. If visiting in the winter I highly recommend getting their gluhwein. It was perfect for a cold chilly day. All their German beers are excellent as well. Choose based on style or get their flight. Their food is also super tasty as well. Their food comes in large portion sizes. Their family options offer a little if everything. I highly recommend this restaurant

Good selection on food and drinks, good decor. Not sure if its because of covid where it is hard to find staff and i know it is hard to keep the spirits up within the staff but people in charge should lead by example and smile a bit more. Everything else was great

Food came fast, drinks were lovely. Came back afterwards for a few drinks. They stayed open for us until late. Staff are great!

We were part of a group, it was a busy day and we were served promptly. They also had gluten free options.

Waited for an hour and still did not get our food, got a garlic bread after 50mins, customers ordered after us have already got their food. Unhelpful staff.

Disappointed to have had a fair issue with two mains that we knew was not normal and talked to the manager after dinner. It was a emergency chef due to C19. The manager accepted it then sorted it like a absolute champ + a round of drinks to smooth over the situation. Well done.

Visiting the Hahndorf Inn, me and my family had the German sausage platter with a side of sweet and regular chips/fries, and it was a lovely dish. The interior itself is also a nice sight, boasting a wooden cabin-like architecture to match its heritage with a Germanic aesthetic.

Overall, a nice place to dine in with quality food, and I definitely recommend whether you’re just dining or seeking to try some German-style foods. ️

We left very disappointed after reading such good reviews online. The place was so understaffed and we were left on our own the entire time. We had to get up to get our own sauces and table water, and no one came to take our order for 25 mins. The food was very bad. The sauces for the schnitzels were completely cold, the chips were very over salted, and the amount of parsley on everything drowned out all the other flavours of the food. We ordered a hotdog and they literally just served a sausage in bread with no sauce or anything. It was also considerably overpriced. The place over the road is much better quality food and much better service for a similar, if not cheaper price.

Ate so much I thought I was going to die, well worth nearly experiencing death to stuff my face full of those amazing ribs however.

One of my favourite places to eat in Hahndorf. The beers are great, the food is amazing and the staff are awesome. Will always come back here when I'm in town

The chicken Schnitzels and mushroom gravy is so good, check out the size of these I’m glad I was hungry. One of the best snittys I have ever have we definitely coming back.

The girl who served our table was wonderful, a definite highlight of the visit. The food was not wonderful. Pretzels were cold and a little soggy, gravy had a skin on it. Overall not terrible, but definitely not great
