Fish Out of Water Hyde Park reviews
67 Great fish and chips. Highly recommend.
Went during peak and advised of wait time prior to purchase.
Best fish and shop ever, always super fresh, amazing salads, orders always on time per advised wait.
Only sticking point is your falafels are awful, please find a new supplier! I was very surprised given the quality of everything else you make is top notch!
Got recommended to sus this place out as it has a very good reputation. Very good service and short wait times which was impressive. I ordered a butterfish battered with some chips and calamari rings and wow they didn't disappoint. The fish was delicious and the Calamari was absolutely devine, chips were good. Defiantly recommend Fish Out of Water
Fish was delicious. Wide variety of fresh salads to go with your fish and chips. The beetroot, carrot and apple salad was great. Personally, I like crispy chips and ours were a little soggy, otherwise, all good.
Best gluten free fish and chips I’ve had in SA
Big, big menu and thee GF beers were a very nice surprise!
We spent almost $50 Dollars for a overcooked lamb sandwich with tomato and alot of lettuce, and a prawn wrap that had 3 prawns and lettuce, with overcooked chips that are inedible.
Best food ever! Come here regularly as they’re coeliac safe, I’ve recommend a lot of people here and they’ve all love the food too. Definitely one of my favourite places to eat in Adelaide
Reliably delicious food, value for money, fast and friendly service. This is our regular burger joint! The hamburger + the lot + beetroot + pineapple always hits the spot.
We got fish and chips from here, they were nice but we are spoilt in North Queensland and our fish is double the size what we ordered. Not a reflection on the business!
Absolutely amazing food every time.
Family with coeliac and can safely eat here each time. Always friendly, always busy! But busy for a reason, the food is brilliant. The monthly specials are always worth a try!
The food was appalling! All gluten free, soggy, over cooked and portions the size of the ring of a glass. We threw it in the bin after one bite, worst meal in Adelaide!
Being from Victoria it's been a real adjustment trying to find a good fish and chip place in SA and this was one of the highest rated ones so was very keen to try it. Potato cakes were decent, chips were fine, I also had a steak vicious burger it was not quite my cup of tea. Had some okay flavors but kind of a mess to eat and the steak was tough. Calamari rings were undercooked. They were very pale and kind of just flavorless, the texture felt rubbery and raw. My girlfriend had butterfish and she said it was quite nice. The desserts we purchased were the real bad spot. The cake tasted fairly mediocre and the portion size for the price was absolutely ridiculous. Had I known the slices were so small I wouldn't have bothered but I ordered over the phone so I kinda got stuffed. The slices are a sliver of cake for the joke price of 10 dollars. If you put all of those slices together I reckon there would be roughly 10 slices to a full cake maybe even more. If the owners think that one cake is worth 100 dollars, especially one so plain in flavor, they are sadly over valuing their product.
This gets at the biggest issue with Fish out of water. The pricing. A medium chips is worth 13 dollars. Back in Victoria 5 dollars worth of chips would give you the same amount maybe even more lol. I get there may be a potato shortage but the prices at the store have not gone up that much to warrant 13 dollars for a medium size chips.
The customer service was very well done the girl at the front did an amazing job given how busy they were. I did notice they don't seem to accept cash, their tills didn't look like they had a cash option but I could be wrong about that. Keep in mind if you want to pay with cash, again I could definetly be wrong about that I'm sure the owner will clear that up if he replies to this.
All in all, I would not return but my experience was not awful, just not good enough for a return visit.
Look I get it’s Easter Friday etc but I have been waiting 3 hours when I gave the restaurant a call they kept threatening to push my order back when I asked how long it will be and by the looks of it they have! I am a single mum and just wanted to feed my child. It’s a shame that a restaurant that apparently takes pride in customer service etc they sure fell short of tonight
Amazing fish! Fresh and great consistency. Service was brilliant, restaurant was clean and location is just perfect. Me and my family ate the Fisherman's Basket, and are proud to say we have never tasted such great crumbing and quality of fish, so far from the ocean.
Friendly and efficient staff, a good range of 'fish & chip' shop foods on offer Quality is generally good (but I have had consistency issues). Well worth trying.
Popular place with a great reputation.
Food was extremely good so i can see why they got the award for SA's best fish n chips
Best fish and chips ever only thing was There potato cakes could have had a bit more potato in them was like no potato in them
Hello this is active orange. I am here to leave a review for fish out of water hyde park. I enjoyed a meal.pertaining of fish and chips.it was sumptuous.thankyou for this meal. I have been active orange.over and out.
Have ordered here almost every Friday night for several months. I get GF and my partner gets vegetarian options. Never once have our orders been confused or have I been set off by gluten - which is the standard whenever I eat out. It's incredible that not only do we not get charged more for GF (unheard of), their range is huge and consistently GOOD. We live 50m up the road but still get deliveries because we're lazy heathens. It's our favourite end-of-the-week treat. Keep up the good work. We love you guys!
GF Yiros wrap and the GF nuggies. Oh god the nuggies. Consistently awesome crunchy chips too!
Interestingly you have to ask for cheese on your burger to then call it a cheeseburger. And the cheese is extra cost and it's not listed on the menu too. Vast range of food. Could be too many. Yellow chips caught my interest. Taste is okay, but could be better
Forgot to put salt on or maybe they put too little.
