Electra House Hotel reviews
68Good venue, friendly helpful staff. Interesting piece of history which staff seemed to know and were only too willing to share. Good selection of drinks especially gin which was excellent. Menu was small but varied. Highly recommended.
If you like your undersized gristley steaks both overcooked and cold, with cold dry shoestring fries then this is the place for you! The sauce was good, but not nearly enough to redeem the rest.
My friend and I decided to have lunch in the bar at Electra House. We hadn't been back for some time and we couldn't remember why.until today. We both ordered beef burgers - a simple enough dish. One was brought out and I mentioned to the girl who brought it that we have another one on the way. That didn't seem to sink in so we waited.and waited.and waited while the OG burger got cold. I eventually went to the bar to order another drink and ask where our second burger might be. She went to check the kitchen and they had thought they had a double up of an order and only made one. By this time the initial burger was stone cold so I asked for it to be heated up. It was taken away but I don't know what was done to it when it was gone but heating was not something that took place as it was still stone cold when it came back. As was the fresh one. And to still charge me $10 for the second glass of wine. I would also like to point out there were 2 other people in the whole of the bar area. Yeah, nuh.two chances. Will definitely not be back.
An old Insurance & investment building with a complete internal multi level remake a top Restaurant, Cocktail &! Wine bar then at night a Pumping Very Cool nightclub with DJ's full of hipsters
One of the best spots to be in town. Highly recommend it during the day or evenings for drinks, food or dancing.
Lovely little place. A little on the pricey side for drinks but not too bad for the cbd. Service was a bit average but over all a nice experience. Close to public transport, within walking distance from the train station if you don't mind going for a wander. Would consider going again.
Quite expensive - the prawn skewers are to die for though. I wouldn't go here on a Friday night unless I wanted to fight the crowds. Overall great ambiance though and customer service too.
Really diasapointed in this venue, i have contacted them twice about a function and both times have been told someone will call me back and nothing. Great way to be successful in business.
Service was beyond excellent. The waiters were friendly and kindly answer the questions about the menu and made excellent suggestions. The food was delicious. We order a few dishes and all were excellent and good portion to share. Dessert was my least favorite. We order fried ice cream and this one was lacking the crunch and the sweet dressing on top, the fary floss was a different touch but not enough to make it great. Not bad but have tasted others that are much better.
Ive walked past this place 100 times and never been in until recently. Definately worth a visit. Great service and a nice private beer garden
Great looking interior with tons of drink options with some tasty food options for lunch, though a bit pricey
Nice modern bar. Great for catch up without needing to scream at each other. Fast friendly bar service.
Went there for a work function, plenty of things going on in this place. Great place for a function from small to large groups. Food was ok, drinks were better.
Went to the 5 star event for Melb Cup, what a dissappointment! $160 for glorified 'pub' food, shared plates, not enough food. No entertainment, whoever was doing the sweeps was not friendly. No annoucement about the race.looking out over a building site.very average, great if the tickets were $80 but no value for the money. Theme was New York, I don't know what was New York about it, none of our table happy at all.
Second time here one time for lunch today I was there having dinner with my son in the beer garden. Arrived at 4.30pm and waited until 5pm for dinner beer garden is very relaxed staff are nice and friendly Food is very good will be back with family and friends.
No real atmosphere. Beer garden ok but people were smoking near people eating. One staff member didn't know that wine doesn't go in a champagne glass. This place could be great.
I used to like going there for weekends and enjoy the atmosphere but after awhile got worse and I stopped going. Security in front door are picky but nice and friendly to the people they know, used to be legit but too many cheap people with bad attitudes trying to start a fight and personally I seen many times in the toilet tools for using drugs left in there.
Lovely large open dinning area with open kitchen and reception. Would recommend the omakase for first time customers. We had a lovely anniversary dinner with a quiet evening that ramped up as the night moved on. The waiters were elegant and very helpful, with the manager always looking out for anything any tablet needed. Definitely a return customer. Look out for the fork specials for a bargain!
Very poor service. Food is overrated and overpriced. Not the fine dining experience I’d expected.
I would of been happier at a local kebab shop.
Amazing bar food and friendly staff, cheap gin day and other specials available. Very retro flashy vibes.
