Wondering if Hollards deal with people who don't drive huge 4WD's?
What if I just want bags of compost as don't have a big vehicle for bulk purchases?
Or am I left with Bunnings?

Hollard’s is close by, and does have a fair range of products. Personally, find their loams contain a lot of rubbish, and have experienced inconsistent pricing.

E G Hollard & Son at Mitcham in Adelaide has consistently been an extremely reliable and trustworthy company as far back as I can remember. I've used their services for decades now.

They are an "old school" work ethic and "true blue" Aussie business with friendly personalised service, who hire good staff in all areas relevant to the industry they are a part of.

They never try to sneak in any hidden or "bonus" charges. Despite the costs of things within their industry inevitably going up, they try to keep what they charge their customers as low as possible for as long as they reasonably can.

Their delivery drivers are professional and are always careful not to damage property during deliveries and actually follow customers written instructions to the letter (people who have lots of things delivered to their house know that this more often than not, is not the case).

In all the years I have used their services I have never found a single thing to complain about either big or trivial (Hence why I'm giving them 5 out of 5 stars). Just an all-round great business on every level.

Was recommended particularl soil as being acidic thus suitable for natives. Checked pH on arriving home and found ph 9 to 9.5. Useless for banksias

Great service today! Greeted by Clohe at the weigh bridge, who i told i wanted some sandy loam for re seeding a lawn and she offered great advice on upgrading to a turf mix soil. Keep up the good work!

Used to get my veggie soil from Forster's, but the last trailer load was double the price and had to use a wetting agent! Someone suggested Hollards and the product they sell is far superior, friendly staff, recommend

This place is really good for all your landscaping needs. They have a great range of soils, sand gravel etc. Also a good range of fire wood from red gum, another harder wood which one of the staff told me about but I forgot its name and a lighter wood which is great for kindling or keeping the harder wood burning. Staff are all super helpful and willing to help you with anything, I had about 3 different staff come and ask if I needed a hand. Very reasonably priced as well. Highly recommended

Always have had exceptional service from Hollards. Quality products at reasonable prices. They always deliver on time, rather than the 2hr window that other similar businesses usually refer to.

EG Holland and sons is a long established family business on the corner of Grange Rd + Egmont Tce next to the railway line, Hawthorn. This business has a showroom of outdoor needs, together with sand, metal, firewood, stone, mulch etc to beautify + landscape the garden. This is a interseting place to explore for the unusual.

Hollard's is one of those places you remember going to as a kid with your dad. And now 25 years later you go there to get all the stuff for your own house.

A great place to get all your soil, sand, compost, gravel sand and all that. They do delivery at a cheap rate but will also lens you a trailer for free for two hours. Five stars.

Really happy with the tiftuf turf delivered from hollards and the customer service from Joe, Marian and Matt, in person and via phone. A great small business

Always friendly staff, happy to sell in small volumes for little jobs at home. The yard can get a bit congested with vehicles.but they do an amazing job given the size of the property!

I always go to Hollards and the staff are great and they always have what I need, sad to read about some people leaving less than good reviews just because they had to wait a little longer not because of bad service but because other custumers were ahead of them, keep up the great work guys and probally see you on the weekend again.

Can highly recommend. Went there a couple of times to buy my chicken fodder and lately they delivered some soil to my house. Good prices and friendly people. Good service to the community, my chucks would starve without them)

I purchased a couple of fire pits with the initial thought of making them planters. I picked a couple that had holes in the bottom for the drainage.

I then decided to turn them into Lillie Ponds so needed to take them back. The guys didn't hesitate to swap them over and when one had a leak in it and was not the right color, they again swapped until I was totally happy.

They absolutely didn't need to do that, but they clearly wanted to keep me happy and I am thrilled with the results. I was never made to feel like i was an inconvenience or difficult customer and I thank them for maintaining a smile and being helpful the whole time. I love this place and there is always so many things I want to buy. Thanks again for great service.
