Dr Ben LaHood

I've recently completed a LASIK procedure and a series of post-op checkups managed by the LaHood Group at Remuera Eye Institute. The whole process was extremely smooth - the pre-op and post-op checks were meticulously done, and the LASIK procedure itself was swift and efficient. The post-op self-care instructions were very clear, and I've had absolutely no problems from the procedure, whilst having flawless vision restored. It was a great experience!

I cannot speak highly enough of the Staff and treatment I received throughout my visits and Cataract Surgery which was performed by Dr Ben LaHood. Fabulous result! I can now read without glasses and my long-distance vision is much enhanced. The world looks fresh and beautiful. All the staff were warm and helpful, explaining exactly what was about to happen. Dr Ben Lahood was not only an excellent surgeon but very caring and understanding, as was his optician Ice Liu. They told me that there would be no pain or discomfort and despite my cynicism this proved to be absolutely true!

Ben (and Ice!) explained everything to me thoroughly and made the whole process of LASIK very easy. The surgery itself went really well and I am very happy with the final visual outcome! Would recommended to anyone who is looking to get laser eye surgery.

I recently had both cataracts removed and replaced at the Eye Institute, each one week apart. As a Naval Architect my career rely's on having superior vision, so confronting what was seen to me as something quite serious had a high level of trepidation for me. I am delighted to say that the whole experience from walking in the door, first assessment, surgery, right through to regular after care checkups has been absolutely outstanding. I honestly cannot see how it could be done better. A big thanks from the bottom of my heart to the team at Eye Institute, especially Ice Liu and Dr Ben LaHood who both made this such an outstanding and pleasurable experience. My only sadness is that I do not have 4 x eyes, so I am limited to only 2 operations,) I highly recommend the Eye Institute, Ice Liu and Dr Ben LaHood to anyone that wants the best in every respect.

I was under the care of Ben and Ice for my LASIK operation. They made me feel very comfortable through the whole experience. They looked after me before and after the surgery. It was pleasure seeing them for my checkups. You can trust this team to work professionally and smoothly so you can relax throughout the operation. I can now see a bit better than 20/20 which is awesome!

My eyesight has improved dramatically having had 2 x cataract operations and corrective lasik treatment to my left eye. As a result of these surgeries I no longer wear glasses and I can now easily read the bottom line on the eye chart and small print on my i phone.
During all operation, pre and post op appointments I found the attention to detail and expertise of Dr Lahood, my assigned optometrist Ice Lui, Medical Secretary Catherine Conaboy and the reception staff at Remuera and Northcote as being totally professional and customer focused.

Ben is a great Doctor! When I went to Ben I had been suffering from Viral Keratitis and even after 3 months of treatment i could not see properly. He changed medication and within 2 weeks my eye sight returned to normal and once the course was complete I was fully cured.

The most important part of the treatment was the personal care and empathy he provided to reduce stress from the prolonged illness.

I met Dr Ben LaHood at the Ashford Eye Clinic in Adelaide. Being very nervous to have the cataracts taken out of both my eyes, Dr Ben put me at ease immediately & assured me all would be ok which of course it was. I had both eyes done and am so pleased I had them done as I am able to read etc with no hassles now, plus I can watch AFL football and can see the players clearly now. I thoroughly recommend Dr Ben, its New Zealand's gain & South Australia's loss. Good Luck Ben.
