Discovery Parks - Lake Bonney

Always nice to stay here. Not sure that Contactless reception is worthwhile as I was met by a lady, then another lady had to fix entry code to enter and then site numbers on post had been changed and I had to ring up. Great site and stay as always. Will be back again when looking to stay in the Riverland.

We spent 3 nights here over a regular weekend, on a powered site. It was quiet on Thursday but was a lot busier by Friday night/Sat morning. The grassed sites were really well kept and we had some great shade from big trees.

The bathrooms and camp kitchen were well equipped and in great condition, although the shower went cold when any toilet flushed. Plenty of BBQs around and helpful staff to answer questions. We also hired paddle boats for an hour, which were a bit pricey but enjoyable.

Our kids (4 and 6) LOVED the pool and splash zone/water slides. Not too cold and even a few floating beanbags to share. Our site was quite central, and we found the pump track to be a bit isolated, off in a back corner.

Would definitely stay again on another trip to the Riverland.

Great place to stay. We stayed 2 nights in a cabin. Was certainly roomy enough and well laid out. Park looked as though it had quite a few activity things for the kids. Located directly on Lake Bonney itself.

Lake Bonney Caravan park is large family/pet friendly park and is walking distance to club, pub and cafes in Barmera cbd. Great butcher in the main street and a local market on the weekend. We stayed here for the October long weekend, booked a powered site for $70 a night, disappointed to find it was dirt not grassed.

Pros:
grassed lake frontage for water activities; boat ramp in park, vintage van converted into coffee shop in grounds which was very very well patronised daily, ice cream van making the rounds daily, very friendly and helpful staff, water warm swimming pool and play ground games room to keep the kids entertained, updated clean and tidy amenities blocks, plenty of shaded sites, several amenities dotted around the park, disabled toilets, pet friendly even in school holidays, surprisingly quiet despite number of kids and dogs there (well done everyone), large games/entertainment area and camp kitchens.
Cons:
no grey water drainage on dirt site we stayed on, sites not big enough to accommodate vehicle and van or tent, vehicles had to partly park on roadways throughout the park which was a bit of a safety issue with kiddies on bikes; packed in for maximum occupancy but the biggest issue was not enough toilet tissue - 4 of 6 toilets had depleted supplies for the 4 days - needs to be restocked at least twice a day during peak occupancy periods.

Look it IS a lovely van park for families and despite it being school holidays, was surprisingly quiet at night but we felt not value for money; do hope they can address the cons especially the parking and toilet tissue supplies.

We stayed on the powered site, lakefront and had a great BBQ night.
The shower room was clean. The one I used had a very low water pressure but based on the noise from other rooms then I guess I was just unlucky choosing it

Facilities are in good condition, only the hot water is a bit hard to control. Overall is the place I would like to go back again either to try the cabin or camp sites.
Powered site seems to have individual water tap at each site which is very handy.

Amazing trip! So much to do and not enough time, loved very thrill-seeking second. Hundred percent recommend. Just one question, does anyone know the answer to the many dead fish washed up on the shore? Its not a worry though as you can stand right next to them and not smell a single fishy smell! I spoke to the workers and they said they picked up at least 2000 fish that morning but don't know why its happening.

A wonderful and comfortable place to stay for the whole family. Situated right next to Lake Bonney, there are so much to do just inside the park itself. Paddle boats, canoes, BBQ, bike riding, ground, swimming pool, just to name a few. The deluxe cabin we stayed in was presented neat and tidy with modern facilities. We will definitely be back soon.

We stayed just during the week for 4 days, we had the dog friendly cottage cabin. It was so clean and great gate off area for our dog. The facilities were amazing. BBQ area, with fridge and little herb garden.

5 star for families. Staff were very lovely and welcoming.

Love it. Beautiful modern cabin, park pretty full as it was a long weekend but was really peaceful, enjoyable stay.

The cabin was comfy and everything was supplied. Lovely view of Lake Bonney. Quiet and peaceful. Sunsets exquisite. This park caters for all ages. Highly recommended.

Stayed in two bedroom cabin, Bathroom could do with floor having a drink and repair to wall, screen broken on lounge window, T. V. Internet available, enough space in kitchen and lounge, main bedroom with double bed adequate other room two single beds, both rooms had wardrobes, in lovely caravan park, great for kids, jumping thing, pool, play equipment right next to Lake Bonney, Close to eating places and main Street with variety of shops.

Wonderful experience! So much for the kids to do. Lovely clean facilities! Beautiful camping spot!

Love love love it! Will definitely be visiting again. Kids had a blast, so much for them to do. Mum and dad also had fun and relaxed:)

I’d give 4 stars if it weren’t for the terrible attitude of a staff member.

—awful lady at the front office. Rolled her eyes at me and spoke to me as if I was an annoying child who just broke an expensive ornamental galah.

There are definitely some positives to this place. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and majority of the guests were pleasant and respectful. We weren’t attacked by rogue lizards or left to hunt and gather, however take note of the many reviews regarding staff. If you’re easily upset, send someone else to the office to do any business there. Also, bring some portable chargers! It can take two days to charge any device.

Great location near the beautiful lake Bonny. The budget cabin was clean and we'll set up. The bed was comfortable. It had a bounce and two singles and own bathroom. The park has beutiful gardens and lawns accessed the the lake. Hire canoes and trikes. Great fishing and boating area. The owners great you with a smile and make you feel welcome. Our cabin was dog friendly.

Great park place to be! The staff are so friendly and helpful! Thank you Rose for your massive help honestly they are luck to have you! Will definitely be booking again!

Cabin was very clean @ was all we needed for sleeping.the staff at main office were great.could do enough to helping to help.all staff great.

I love this place, staff are very helpful & appear to be relaxed, although I did see alcohol in the public fridge, we had no problem moving camp when we changed our mind, being a Discovery member also a bonus. We will be back
