Cumberland Arms Hotel reviews
53 Came in tonight for abit of a nice catch up with my friend so we could grab a parmy and some beers. I was served a kill patrick parmy that tasted completely off. It tasted like it had just been removed from the freezer and banged in a microwave, I didn’t even finish half of it. I was curious to see if it was just my taste buds but it wasn’t my friend also said there was a distinct off and tangy taste to his plain schnitzel. Not ideal guys. I’ve been coming to the Cumby for food for over 7 years now, before it even had a nice beer garden. I’ve sadly in that time watched the food quality gradually get worse and worse to now the unfortunate time has come where I doubt I’ll be back. I doubt the people running this venue care about this review as I know the place is a popular drinking venue but if I can inform others that their food prices aren’t worth it then I’ve done what I wanted to do.
On a side note the staff were nice.
Pretty terrible service- really wouldn’t go again. For any special event it’s not worth it.
Great pub with a nice selection of beers on tap, with equally good food options and specials! Fabulous outdoor area. Back again during the Adelaide 500 Supercars and still a great place to eat & drink ️
Such a beautiful and well-trained staff made our Christmas visit a pure joyous occasion. The food was fantastic with everyone at the table commenting on how nice it was.
Collectively, everyone around the table had: salt and pepper squid, roast pumpkin salad, crispy skin pink salmon, vegan burger.
We finished our visit off with a lovely coffee ️
Overall rating = underwhelming/mediocre. Pretty place, came for dinner. Had the Pork belly salad which was alright - refreshing for the 30degree day. Partner had the fish and chips he was craving and was unhappy. Looked like the last cuts of greasy fish, over salted chips and deathly garlicky aioli sauce. The saving grace of it was the slaw as it didn't have much of a flavour but fresh.
Had hoped place was decent reading reviews - won't come again for food.
Great priced meals, outdoor beer is great most of the year around. John & the staff are so friendly.
Food was great, venue is central and clean. We booked a table for 20 for a get together but were not told at time there was a trivia night on there that night. It made it extremely hard to communicate with others at our table due to the sound system being so loud.
I recently had the pleasure of dining and drinking at the Cumberland Arms Hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. The restaurant offered a wide range of delicious meals, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The bar was also a highlight, offering a wide selection of drinks and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The bartenders were knowledgeable and assisted me in choosing the perfect drink for my tastes. Overall, the restaurant and bar at the Cumberland Arms Hotel are top-notch and I highly recommend them for anyone looking for a memorable dining and drinking experience.
The food was very poor quality and nearly cooked. Had the burger - inside it was raw. The Nacho's were stale and the pork belly salad was bad (pork overcooked and salad tasteless).
Avoid Saturdays for meals - the pub was full of extremely drunk groups of people making it difficult to enjoy a nice evening out.
For a pub in the city that looked so good, it was a big let down. The service was average and the food was the same. For a Saturday night I expected it would be bussier.now I know why.
Great seating arrangements, outside area is great. Drink prices are pretty average. Staff were fantastic and very attentive.
Ordered the brie and beef burger only to cut into it and the patty was undercooked, clear red chunks of mince. Asked for a new one that was cooked, got the exact same thing the second time. When I asked, they advised "that's how it's cooked" despite no notes on the menu line to state the mince patty is cooked medium rare. Never ever had a patty come out like that ever. Patties are always fully cooked unless the patron asks.
Finally said I was not keen on a half cooked patty, and frankly very put off by it. So they offered to swap my meal. Ended up getting the chicken parmi. So after being there an hour I finally had food, while the rest of the table had finished eating.
It was fine, nothing amazing. Decent size, they put it on top of the chips (which everyone hates btw). And gave a massive amount of slaw with chunks of onion in it (gross).
Disappointing experience.
Staff were amazing though 10/10.
Great spot to catchup, plenty of different seating options, indoor and outdoor, temperature supports ie multiple fans situated to help with hot days and ventilation, or heating for winter. Food good, great bubbles options available
Came and had lunch out back in the beer garden. Vibes were great, music was good and the male staff member who served us inside was really friendly and welcoming. Table service would be ideal or more staff circulating outside to keep drinks and nibbles flowing.
Food was quite good. Toilets needed work done to them. Also only the one bar for quite a few people. Staff were friendly so all up not too bad
Great food and service. The Kim Chi chicken burger is a treat. Also well done for being a Vaccinated only venue.
Great service from Ben and Annie. Food is great.
Highly recommended, Great option for a Sunday sesh.
Usually a great place.which is why we keep coming back. Today we left disappointed. Kitchen was closed, completely, with no snacks at all and without letting us know before we booked. Our group was split into 2 booths making it difficult to socialise and the bathrooms were filthy.
We had our Christmas work function at the venue in the beer garden.
Atmosphere was excellent food was great service was excellent also with special thanks to Ben & Annie for all your attentive service.
Highly recommend this place for one and all.
Friendly staff but was quite disappointed in the food. Had a cheeseburger from here and it seemed to have a lack of effort put into making it. Gave some feedback which was appreciated but not sure if we would return again for a meal
