Crown & Anchor Hotel reviews
43It attracts a certain type of punk/metal crowd. If you are that sort of person, you would probably give it 5 stars. They are certainly a very strong supporter of new bands and regularly have 20 bands playing each week.
Great pub to catch up with friends and have a drink. Live music gave us some coasters and permanent markers to draw on while listening to great tunes. Excellent staff, chill vibe in the front bar and reasonable drink prices,
Sienna Hart played the live music.check her out on Spotify.
The serves are generous; the service is friendly; the wine tasty. A good time was had by all. Do you yourself a favour and try it out!
Awesome, support live music, fast service during busy times, very Alternative and quirky.pool tables.
This place gives me country pub vibes and it's awsome, staff are pretty relaxed and the place is pretty clean. Super cool and relaxed place. Definitely recommended going.
The Crankor, always attracts a unique crowd of people, to go with the character of the venue. Recommended
This place is apart of my upbringing. It's nice to know the standards and culture haven't shifted at all x
Went to see Superdose Gangway and they were excellent as expected, please bring them back soon!
Great atmosphere, great fun people, music so so for a 60 year old, bring back some oldie songs.:)
Had an awesome time catching madura green for the first time with an awesome line up of bearclaw club and sunsick daisy!
Had a pretty grouchy glassy take my drink away before I was finished.
Most staff were overall friendly and fairly hospitable with quick and efficient service
Would recommended to anyone wanting a cold beer and local tunes
Gotta love cranker.service always top notch, music excellent, atmosphere even more so.great toilets too - could stay in them forever reading everything on the walls, and really excellent for privacy and gender neutrality too.there’s no where better for drinks and tunes.
Great dive bar that puts live music over pokies. Awesome drink specials and friendly clientele.
It's what a pub should be, beer, music, 8 ball and no pokies. It's a Mecca for all of alternative lifestyles and beliefs
One of the last true great pubs of Adelaide.
WOW! Great location, very earthy Pub. Tried a new beer Ashanti as they did not have my usual. Not a bad thing as I enjoyed and drank this for the rest of the Night. We had Dinner for 6 upstairs in this wonderful small room full of character. The staff were cool, attentive and friendly. NICE! Last but not least, the food. WOW! The food was earthy, healthy and Yummy. Thankyou Crown and Anchor
I cannot believe this worker is representing this place…. It’s embarrassing
Where do I start with this review…… The way me and my friend were treated last night was the WORST customer service I have received in my whole life. We were told to wait downstairs as the place that we were eating at, midnight Spaghetti (an amazing place by the way!), was not open yet. My friend and I were minding our business when we were asked for our ids (mind you it’s 5: 48pm on a Wednesday night). The worker (dirty-blonde hair, glasses, male) was VERY passive aggressive to us, and used such a rude tone when telling us this. As we were simply waiting and not planning on buying drinks, we left. We ended up waiting in the foyer of the restaurant, minding our business when he came down AGAIN and ordered us to leave, even though we were specifically told to wait downstairs by the restaurant. We asked him why, and gave the rudest response, at this point I’m convinced it seemed as if he had a personal vendetta against us or something because I’ve never seen a grown man become so enraged by two harmless minors. I’m sure that this man has single-handledly lost more customers for both the Cranker and Midnight Spaghetti, because we were very close to leaving ourselves, but glad we stayed for the amazing food at Midnight Spaghetti. Time for a step-up Cranker, embarrassing!
I've read my initial review and realiaed I was in the wrong, the cranker is a stellar establishment and I was probably too intoxicated to be there.
Original left for reference.
I love the crown and Anchor, best pub in Adelaide, unfortunately tonight I dropped my phone whilst getting out of an uber. Upon entry a bouncer told me that I was not allowed to enter, I tried explaining that I dropped my phone on accident however the bouncer didn't want to hear it. I believe a little more consideration for honest patrons should be accepted.
Thank you.
It is good venue it had comedy on yesterday run by Ross Voss also has music sometimes the staff are very friendly aswell
One of the iconic and last standing original band venues. Support your local muzos and the Cranker!
The Crown & Anchor Hotel or as it's affectionately known, is the The Cranker is a smallish pub that holds comedy nights, band gigs, etc. Has a pool table and pinball machine.
Place is pretty rad, comes across and dingy and the toilets can be a little dirty but the booze is good and cheap, the staff and friendly and you don't have to wait too long to get served despite the bar being full.
Very easy place to have a good time with mates.
