Coffin Bay National Park reviews
33A real jewel in our state. Stunning beaches and great camping. Some more visitor education and closer management from park rangers would be really beneficial. During our visit there were people operating drones, drivers not respecting speed restrictions on busy beaches with kids around, and people camping outside of designated grounds. Majority of visitors doing the right thing during the busy holiday season, thankfully.
Awesome spot to explore with the family. We visited on a day when the weather was less than ideal (very windy, not warm) but there was still plenty to see and explore.
A decent 4wd and some recovery equipment is recommended to get the most out of the park as there is some absolutely stunning drives through the sand dunes to be had.
100% recommend this!
This national park is huge! We drove for quite awhile through it and felt like we just touched the tip of it. Beautiful views from the spots we stopped at. Was great to see lots of emus and kangaroos. Was worth the $13 park entry fee!
Absolutely breathtaking views. Only downside was seeing others speeding and a joey that had been killed by a car. Slow down and respect the wildlife!
$12.50 pass until 11pm, wandered back in again at night to see stars without light pollution
Would be 5 stars if the National Parks improved some of the side tracks. We have a 4WD but many don't.
We loved our stay at Coffin Bay NP. 4wd only. 2wd access is very limited but if you have a 4x4 it’s an amazing place to go. Our big highlight was the Sand Dune
Seven mile beach best part of the national park, all amenities so clean and no rubbish around which was great. Very well looked after place
Extremely gorgeous landscapes. Best to do it in 4X4 if you would like to cover remote parts of the park. 2WD would show you around the first half of the park which is still beautiful and will let you camp at Yangi. You wouldn't need more than a day to explore the park if you're only in a 2WD or if you're not planning to do any of the hikes
Fantastic coastline with islands, turquoise water and crumbling cliffs. Emu family strolling across the road - not the least bit concerned by our car. Plenty of great lookouts and 4wd tracks. Brilliant coastal landscape.
Easy to explore. Beaches can be easily accessed by both 2wd and 4wd. The roads to the beaches are very well maintained. Great walks from easy as 45 mins. Great campgrounds overlooking Yangi bay.
Based on my experienced, I could say that the Coffin Bay is one of the most brilliantly beach that I have ever been or seen.
Follow up my pictures you will love it too? !
I love the sound and smell of the sea ️️
This is such a gorgeous National Park. The views are incredible and so are the beaches. Most roads in the initial part of the park are sealed so easy to get around. 4*4 desirable to get to some of the beaches. And the beaches are worth it, some of the best I've seen in the world. Bring your own snacks and have a picnic.
To enjoy the best of Coffin Bay National Park, you need a decent four wheel drive. We didn't know this and so couldn't get to the best beaches. Long drive on dirt road only to find we couldn't get where we wanted too. Some great views along the way though.
Coffin Bay National Park is sensational! The beaches all along the coast of the point are really nice, and you can generally find a beach to go to what ever the weather is doing. Good 4x4 driving, good camping and there are long drops at most camp sites. Really nice scenic and fun place to go for either a day trip or long stays.
4 weeks along the Eyre Peninsula, this will always be the highlight of our holiday. Stayed at the site for 2 days, without ever moving, regret nothing!
You could spend the entire day here or even camp. The national park is abundance with beautiful beaches and good hike trails. However the trails weren't marked well.
If you’re hungry for more remote and awe-inspiring coastal scenery you can go west to Coffin Bay National Park.
Extending on a finger of land is an area of high cliffs, enormous sand dunes and amazing beaches, some pummelled by ocean waves and others in peaceful bays.
The more sheltered southern end of the park at Yangie Bay is ideal for kayaking and canoeing, and on land you can set off for a picnic in the bush.
For gorgeous vistas on the south side there’s Golden Island Lookout, accessed via sealed road with near-constant ocean views.
The beaches in the park’s very north are extraordinary but seldom visited, and you’ll need a high clearance 4WD to get there, crossing epic dunescapes on the way.
We visited a few years ago now. We spent the the whole day, just taking in the scenery. A spectacular place, I highly recommend you vist. Just awesome.
