Cash Converters reviews
37I went to the Cash Converters in Prospect yesterday 22 Feb 2020 and I found a torch which was $12 but I looked at the back and it had a sticker that said "$5 DISCOUNT". So I went to the staff and they told me that it wasn't their sticker, so I looked at it closely and found out it was a Bunnings sticker. I told them about this and they told me that they bought it from someone for $3 and offered to give it to me for $10. This is a complete ripoff.
Terrible place, terrible staff, you won’t get even one dollar refund even it is in their three months warranty. Definitely lodge a case to the Consumer and Business Services (CBS).
Purchased an item from this online shop. Very happy with the item being described accurately and dispatched in very good time for a quick journey across the country. The item was well priced and in excellent condition. Highly recommended store.
A difficult location to access. Parking is at the rear of the shopping centre. Best option is to walk through the shopping centre to gain entry.
Staff are friendly.
I went in and the staff didn’t greet me in any way. I asked help to Matt with my friend, he arrived annoyed not giving us much time to choose not suggesting anything. I decided to get out because of the negative atmosphere and no one even said bye.
Salesman stole my item.
Went in to pickup webshop orders, have had issues with this store doing bait and switches before lying about item conditions then acting like they knew nothing (how can you not see a crack in a disc and list it as good condition?).
Went in to pickup my order, decided to get some more games, found a figure in the cabinet my father would love, asked to grab it, went to the counter paid for everything (salesman wasnt very enthusiastic or good at customer service), store was empty part from me and the salesman.
Get home all excited to give the figure to my father who's disabled and can't get around, to find the figure isn't there. Check the receipt and it's mysteriously missing on it, check webshop no listing.
Ring the store first thing today to find the figure was sold less than a minute after my transaction. There was no one else in the shop meaning the salesman decided to pull it from the transaction and pocket it himself.
When questioned over this the store got defensive and started suggesting I was lying and covering for their own staff, yet not wanting to disclose if the staff member had bought the item.
Dodgy as, checked ebay values and found the figure to be worth quite a lot more than it was priced for, so it's become pretty obvious what has happened.
Avoid this store like the plague.
Staff here are generally great.
One staff member is however lwtti g the team down. I saw an add on gum tree or eBay about a push bike. All I asked was about the size. I told him what size I was after
The Staff member then relied he couldn't find it written on the bike but believed it was the size I was looking for.
Walked in the store and it was written clearly were all bikes have them displayed.
The other issue I find is presentation.
Items should be cleaned before they are up on sale.
Not only will this help resale value but also enhance the customers experience, the image of the store and make the items more appealing.
The bikes are all sold as they are.
Covered in dirt he l tease and grime.
They should at the very least have a rag whipped over them.
I went there to sell a high end Longines watch with all the paperwork, box, bag, evaluation certificate etc. I was offered a price of $1500 but we agreed on $1800. However, lady said she needs to speak to her manager and would be back in couple of seconds which turned out over 5 minutes. Then, to my surprise, I was offered $1000 by giving stupid logics. Needless to mention, the watch had current evaluation of $3100. Fraudulent! The only word comes to my mind. So disappointed
Bought a laptop, which came with a 3 month "warranty". The screen stopped working a day after purchase (various other issues as well such as turning off due to kernel panics and speakers and aux port not working), so i took it back as soon as i was able to get back there (4 days after purchase), where they wanted me to come back again in a week to "verify the issue" despite me showing them that the screen obviously didn't work (screen wouldn't even turn on but the keyboard back-light worked so it was evident that it was turned on). Ended up getting the refund on the day but certainly wasn't easy, and had to deal with the rude manager to do so. Won't be going back again.
I have never seen staff members look so bored in my life. They showed no interest in their 'customers' whatsoever. The young girl looked as though she didn't want to be there, or was suffering a hangover. I spent a half an hour in the store and felt invisible. It felt like the staff couldn't care less about anything else, other than going home for the day. Go to Clovely Park Cash converters for the best customer service.
You can find some it secondhand items at a good price but the place doesn't look clean and welcoming and workers need to improve their customer service sorry
Clean store. Good selection. Manager must be having a bad day. He came across as being very pompous
I have never been so disgusted and disappointed.and its very sad because i have been a happy customer visiting this branch for over 8 years.literally just 10 minutes ago, i came in and saw two n64 controllers in their shelf cabinet and i thought this would be great one for me one for my brother (who has a severe disability) i asked the girl to get them both out of the cabinet, and as she scans it through the counter, she smiles and giggles while saying they have both been sold online.this policy should be changed immediately, or if anything never keep things up for sale in a cabinet shelf knowing you have it online for sale.your employees should be on top of this stuff. Im not sure how i am going to explain this to my little brother.you will not see me in your shop again.very sad very disappointing.
I've never liked Cash Converters business model of preying on the desperate, weak and naive. Paying cents on the dollar for something they will sell for a 5000% markup. The store itself is poorly located on Main North Road. You can access it from a rear entrance but you can't exit from the same door. It's 'broken'. Yeah right. It's been 'broken' for months now. It's more like preventing stock theft. If that is the case, why don't they just be truthful about it? The store has a vaguely decent range of items you won't be able to afford. Like with all Cash Converters their prices are ridiculous. When stuff is cheaper new than it is second hand, what is the point of shopping at CC? Staff can be friendly. Their range of DVDs is enormous. I can't recommend.
EDIT: Dec 2017. I have been back to CC a few times since I wrote this and I can say that the staff should be fired or at least retrained. When asked about the availability of an item which I knew to exist only the week before, I was told that they never stocked it. An outright lie. The remainder of the staff just look bored or can't be bothered to help you.
I've dropped my rating by one star.
Would Never Shop here again!
Very Bad customer service from the guys in the pawn department and from the very rude tired girl in the finance department, on both occasions I walked out without any purchases or finance help.
I recommend you Go to the city, Hampstead gardens or Payneham branches to avoid disappointment.
Staff was nice and i got the ipad from there which is in fantastic condition. Just the prices were too high of some things otherwise a cool place to get something you need.
Parking can be a bit of an issue behind the store. Good range of products, depending on what you are looking for. Not the cheapest store around considering items are second hand. Helpful, friendly staff.
