Lovely place.
Dogs not allowed inside the Carrick Hill building only outside.
Delightful. Beautiful gardens to picnic, and the home itself was stunning. The volunteers were very knowledgeable and helpful. This was a little gem we didn't know about. We'll definitely be coming back.
Love it, history is amazing. Gardens are beautiful and kept very clean. Cafe good food. Perfect for family’s kids and wedding or other events. The place seems magical.
Stunning gardens and beautiful historic house. They regularly have interesting exhibitions. There is art by well known artists throughout the house. The gardens also have a section for children to enjoy. Pretty difficult for wheelchairs to get very far, but there is a lift now in the house and the new area being built will have a lift as well. The grounds are pretty steep and a lot of the stairs do not have rails to hold on to so it is pretty hard going for those with mobility issues. The house is two storeys with a magnificent grand staircase. The new pavilion with its amazing large windows will provide a stunning view of the gardens and a large event space. Perfect for weddings.
Sculpture exhibition in the Gardens by local artists, well worth a visit. Beautiful gardens, amazing views and incredible historic mansion.
Free entry to large beautiful gardens which are well kept and lovely place to spend a few hours picnic or for celebrations. House entry is just 17 dollars per adult (consession rates available), and worth having a look as it's wonderfully preserved and quite a beautiful house.
Pets allowed in garden but not the house
Well worth a visit, the interior has an eclectic mix of art and some wonderful bronze busts by Epstein. The link with Beaudesert House in our home county of Staffordshire in England was a big surprise. The gardens are lovely with many aromatic roses in bloom during our visit and the terrace provides expansive views and excellent coffee and cake. A visit is highly recommended. Do check opening days though.
Wonderful remnant of opulent old Adelaide with its postcard perfect appearance and sweeping views of the city. If you have time, you can piece together the lavish, art-loving lifestyles of Edward and Ursula Haywood based on the many plaques. And keep in mind he's the guy who started the Adelaide Christmas pageant. What a legacy. The gift shops and cafe are cool, if you can afford to splash out. The free Storybook trail is whimsical if slightly unkempt. And I like to keep an eye on the website to see what events or displays are happening, if I remember. Great to see Carrick Hill up and running again after Covid.
Great place to go and learn about some Adelaide history (and how the rich used to live in the 50ties.)
Nice place to visit.
You can do dry picnic too.
Greenary, castle is the most attractive part of this place.
My daughter works here is a absolutely beautiful wedding venue & function venue 110% recommend
A wonderful English country garden experience - beautifully maintained, peaceful, unmissable!
Amazing house full of local history. Cafe expensive but not bad. Will go back for a walk around the grounds. Great view over Adelaide.
Great little adventure for the kids with its story walk and an amazing well maintained historic house for the history lovers.
Perfect spot for a lazy afternoon soaking up the warm spring sun on the lawn with city view on the horizon.
We went here on a rainy morning but with this magnificent property that was not an issue. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff made it a pleasure. You gain a real sense of the couple who built Carrick Hill and the feeling they had for this home.
Wonderful grounds and stunning neighbourhood. Very much so in love. We had an amzing time. Great tourist spot.
Love this place. Gardens are devine, house is amazing. Wish they would ask me to move in lol.
I worked here for many years. Highly recommend a visit here
I love visiting Carrick Hill. It is a wonderful experience exploring the gardens and the mansion. I would recommend it to anyone who can walk.
Loved the grounds and children's walking trail.
Didn't get to see the house as there was an event. Will definitely go again
