Caffe Buongiorno - Norwood reviews
61A friend and I have breakfast here once a month and are always impressed with the meal, the coffee and table service. The lady barista is an icon. HOWEVER last week the presentation of the food was poor/average to say the least. The scrambled egg and salmon was slapped on the plate with no garnish: the poached eggs and avocado was similar. Do you have a new cook?
I always get the scallopi Al fungi my fav but the veg with it is no longer Italian style with butter and garlic. Now stir fried which is not nice. Wrong type of veg
This place is a disgrace. The owner is so rude and shouldn’t be allowed to run a business. Food is pathetic.
Had a lovely pizza to go. I enjoyed it thoroughly and it was full of flavour. I had the one with the lot.
The caffe was alive with customers. All ages were eating there.
Always excellent meals.
Tasty pastas and great pizzas.
Coffee and cannoli perfect after a meal
Lovely accommodating staff.
Great lively atmosphere.
Have been coming here for years and will continue to do so.
Always a great night with friends!
Open late, good food and reasonably priced for the location
There are always Italians there, there is a reason for this
Busy, busy, busy BUT always welcoming. Variety is there. Keep an eye on the specials board though, that's where the real treats are.
Years of consistent great family food with an Italian influence. Whatever the occasion this is the place to celebrate.
A disappointment. The pizza was honestly the worst I've had in years and the staff weren't impolite but they definitely weren't making an effort to be helpful. Seriously overrated.
Food was delicious, service was quick despite on a Friday night. Cozy environment. Highly recommended.
Just had the worse risotto I have ever had. The chef obviously has no idea how to prepare a risotto. It tasted like some previously cooked rice hadjust been thrown in with a large amount of cream and garlic, a few prawns and a couple beans at bottom of bowl. I mentioned to waiter that I didn’t enjoy and no response. Way over priced, will not be back
This is absolutely the best Italian restaurant that I have ever been to. Really like its casual atmosphere which allows you to sit in a corner and hear people chew the fat. Food taste brilliant and comes in huge generous serve. Coffee is fantastic as well. This place will definitely be our choice for Italian food in the following years.
Basic Italian food, nothing exciting at all. Staff are rude. Much better options on the parade. Prices are high for what you get.
Late 80s style cafe brekky cuisine. Casual, friendly place. If you are looking for hipster vibe, this is not for you. I marked 4 due to the old fashioned service and the retro feel.
Extremely disappointing.coming from Melbourne it was a massively underwhelming meal. Would last long in Melbourne at all.
DEFINITELY FIVE STARS!
We tried the special scotch fillet with mushroom sauce and risotto which are huge, super satisfying and so yum! The interior is cozy and you can just relex and enjoy the food. We will absolutely come back to try their pizza!
Bloody good food! First time I've been here for years & it didn't disappoint! Lucky it wasn't full on the night we went, otherwise it can be a bit noisy! Staff were happy & customer service was great! Prices were good. We will definitely go back!
Was rudely asked to keep a large group of kids 5 and under quiet? This used to be a family place but now is just run down old with really rude staff not too mention price. You ain't no 5 star
If this was during the week or even Friday or Saturday night I would understand completely.but Saturday noon pfffft go across the road better food better service all round.
Great coffee! Perfectly cooked pizza. The size portions are alot bigger then I expected. Good value for money!
Took my daughter's out for a quick bite. Explained to them how Buongiorno was the scene of many post school celebrations in the late 80. The owner Ron was a very vibrant and entertaining host. Fast forward to 2018 Buongiorno's still busy, without cocky pretentious school leavers like me and my friends being rowdy. The food generous, good value and staff politely efficient. Girls enjoyed the busy atmosphere and well prepared food.
