Cafe Michael 2 reviews
71Large meals, friendly service, well priced for their range, taste and quality. The peanut satay was just wonderful, for those that like chilli, ask for some to be added. We enjoyed Pad Thai, beef massamum, ginger prawn, beef rendang. The ginger was the star of the dishes. The protein in the other dishes was slightly overcooked. The vegetables were fresh and well prepared. Bathroom was clean and tidy.
The restaurant looks a bit old, but the food was amazing. I was here during Adelaide Fringe and I think that this is the best Thai food restaurant that you must try when visiting Adelaide. Massaman beef curry was my favourite, following by Chicken Druken noodle. The chicken was well-cooked to remain juicy. It was dark outside during the fringe so I didn’t have chance to take photos! Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try authentic Thai food in Adelaide!
Green curry was pretty tasty. Seems a little pricey for the quality. Would still be interested in going again to try more of their food. Staff was very friendly
An amazing place to try out Thai food in Australia.
Specially whoale Fish, Barramundi.
ONE OF THE BEST THAI RESTAURANT IN ADELAIDE.
Must Must try.one of the best Thai food resto in the town.have had their Pad Thai, Chicken Satay and Veg Curry which were commendable. 10/10
Nice, quiet and clean restaurant, staff were very friendly and helpful. Best pad Thai I’ve ever had, and large generous servings. Will definitely be back again to try some other dishes:)
At first we were happy, no one wants their nights to be ruined after a good time at fringe. We sat down being welcomed by the waiting staff and ordered some food and drink, then we started waiting, endless waiting. We were served with a soup (the soup was nice) and then were tatolly ignored by the staffs, we asked 3 times for our main course, every time the waitress said, oh yeah it's coming, and we kept on waiting. Customers who came after us had finished their dishes, plus second round of drinks, gone; another table of customers came in and ordered, then had finished their food; almost like everyone has left and we were still waiting, I think their crocodiles must be super fresh because I guess the chef were catching them from the river.
I don't mind to wait, especially when there's fringe and they are super busy, but we asked three times for our dishes! Three times, and we waited for 1 hour.
When dishes were finally delivered to hour table, the guy left them with no cutleries and napkins, expecting us to have them with our fingers.
Never back again.
Love the fish cake, fried rice is also one of the best.
I would definitely come back, need to try the chicken larp and the whole fish meal. They smell really good.
Friendly staff excellent customer service good food. Can’t ask for more. Will definitely going again.
Customer service is excellent, the food is far beyond my expectation, couldn't have been more satisfied, will definitely go back next time
Great lunch menu. Delicious food, always ready in minutes, and very friendly staff. Highly recommended
Save your money & don't eat here. Tasteless. An absolute let down on all fronts. Every few years I give them a try hoping they have made more of an effort to their claim of #authentic but no. Overpriced. The opposite of fresh. Aftertasted like truck exhaust. Never again. BEWARE
Photos don’t do justice. You just have to come and taste the food yourself.
I never enjoyed Egg Noodles in my life but this place changed me. Simply taste, smokey, right sweetness, umami and creamy. Noodles was properly cooked, none of it sticking together. Right texture and very delicious! I encourage you to try it and you will not be disappointed.
Definitely will be back!
Very good authentic Thai food with proper Thai essence. CM2 has got a variety of dishes including vegetarian and vegan options too!
The chef, Soda is a highly experienced with legit Thai dishes.
The staff has a very decent approach and very helpful with choosing a good dish for you.
The orientation of tables is also pretty good and the restaurant can fit a rather large number of people on busy days or otherwise in case of a small event with family and friends.
Good value for money and great Thai taste!
Ive had some slight misses at CM2, but last night's red curry beef and larp chicken dishes were excellent. We got there a little early, but they made (covid safe) room for us.
Pineapple fried rice dish was tasty, the decor is pleasant.
The commercial radio station playing and TV on in the corner of the room seem at odds with what is otherwise a more relaxing ambience.
The quality of the food has been, in my experience, consistently good. The Thai green chicken curry is *amazing*, a lot of heat and generous portions. The rice is fragrant. Ive been enjoying dine in and takeaway since very early hospitality days on Rundle
St over ten years ago and Ive loved it every time.
Ordered delivery - and menu was not clear on options to get just veg vs chicken + tofu (not sure why this would even be an option as I can imagine many people wanting tofu and chicken). Ended up with chicken and tofu. Tofu was awful. Sauce was oily and disgusting. Even if I had meant to order just the chicken green curry, why would I want nothing but chicken and greasy sauce? What an absolute waste of money. I left a nicer review on Uber eats and got a response saying I ordered incorrectly and hope to see me order again next time. Regardless of ordering the wrong item, it was still poorly made and probably the worst Thai food I’ve ever had. Would not order again.
Superb Thai food. Enjoyed a lovely chicken fried rice lunch with mates on a busy weekday.
Good decor and warm hospitality.
Very conveniently located close to Rundle mall for business people and shoppers.
Chef use her hand to pickup food from the wok to taste it. Then use the same hand to pick up salt and spices. Nice saliva dressing
