The managers people skills leave a lot to be desired. Another couple who was there said much the same thing, so decide for yourself.

Terrible wait times, waited over 45 minutes for an egg muffin! Staff disinterested, service very poor! Sad as it’s a great location. Don’t recommend ordering in house, just purchase something in the general store and make it yourself! Muffin came out slapped together and burnt. 1 star!

The coffee was beautiful but I have never met or come accross such rude and unfriendly owners. The hired help were lovely but the owners were shocking. They are definitely in the wrong industry, was hoping for a lovely country friendly vibe, but got completely the opposite, rude, abrupt, and make you feel that it is too much trouble to order or purchase anything. Definitely won't be back, what a shame these two people don't leave it to the hired help to run it.

Found this hidden gem by chance. Beautiful food, well priced, great wine & enjoyable scenery. Definitely worth a visit… forgot to mention friendly staff!

Though the food is ok, the staff are unfriendly. I’ve been there several times now and the service never improves. Disappointing.

Stopped in for lunch and was blown away by the awesome cheeseburger and steak sandwich with the lot. Absolutely delicious. Staff were bright, happy and helpful. A lovely place to take some time and enjoy.

Good food and good coffee. Such a great place to sit for a casual bite watching the boats go by on a nice day.

Let's face it, you are in the middle of nowhere and then you cross paths with this bussines, great food (even better than some places in Adelaide), stunning view of the river and great service. Seriously what else do you need?

Perfect location. We were the only ones sitting on the deck mid morning. Friendly, prompt service. Tasty BLT, Club sandwich & Angus burger.

Bow Hill General Store is our favourite place to take visitors from Adelaide for lunch, the service can't be faulted, the menu and food presentation is fabulous and the meal and the scenery complements the hosts.
Last Friday 22nd we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary, and couldn't think of a nicer place to have lunch with our wedding party.thank you Mandy and Mick.

The staff are really scared of COVID, or police, or both and more. I came in without a mask and they immediately panicked. I have an exemption from wearing a mask but being there for holidays on the River I did not have it with me at the moment. I was requested to wear a mask or show my exemption right at the entrance and when I could not a shop assistant screamed as loud as she could: "This gentleman has an exemption but he doesn't wanna show it! " All the staff went on high alert and requested me to leave immediately.
I consider this as discrimination as we are on level 1 restrictions in SA with 0 COVID cases and masks are required for places where social distancing cannot be maintained. The shop was absolutely empty and I was keeping my distance and had no symptoms. Their refusal to service me was not justified.
Are they going to serve unmasked/unvaccinated at all or leave them without groceries? Are we going to be 2nd class citizens forever?

Terrible, absolutely poor customer service, long wait and very rude, kicked is off the table and no one is sitting there, waiting in the car park for my food which took over an hour, food was cold and did not taste nice

General store, dine in and takeaway. Modern and staff are very attentive. Magnificent outdoor dining area with panoramic views of the river.very popular

Such a peaceful, relaxing, beautiful ambient place to enjoy lunch or breakfast and yes, its licensed.:) Have on several occasions enjoyed a glass of Wine or Beer with their fantastic Gourmet Burgers and Chips that believe it or not, are super crispy and golden. For me, a Chip worthy of eating, is one with crunch and doesn't look half cooked. Scenic views of the Murray River and Cliff face. Have also been graced with the Murray Princess cruising past. A beautiful sight to be seen. Coffee and Cake to finish - now that really was the icing on the cake, so to speak! Popular, especially when its sunny - so consider Booking if you can, to avoid disappointment. Can get a little fresh at times being open to the elements outside, so I usually take a light jacket just in case. Amazing, modern Kids Playground directly across the Road, so there's something for everyone.:)

Fantastic friendly service.excellent food! Would definatly go out of my way to visit again! Very clean and tidy.

On a houseboat called in, found some of the staff a bit abrupt. There were 9 of us and service overall was ordinary. Apparently they had a function later that day and we were in the way, Had to drink coffee outside in the cold. We had people in 80s in the group. I guess they have a monopoly in Bowhill.

Great little stop for a coffee and I Pie. Looking forward to heading up to the balcony during summer.

Great, quick take aways, licenced, friendly staff. The only thing holding this brand new rebuild is these restrictions. We are just up the road and can't wait to have more from the store.

Operating from a temporary location, the food and coffee was great. Even an outdoor area to sit and take in what may be again.
