Border Village Roadhouse reviews
67 Great stay at Border Village Roadhouse!
Big Roadhouse with convenience store and actually very decent coffee ️
Rooms are nice and clean. Comfy bedroom and an effective AC/heater for cold night of the Nullarbor. Above all it offers pet friendly rooms!
Big + on the entertainment side with a golf court ️ (1 hole narrow par 3) and a swimming pool for refreshing time after the drive!
The roadhouse is close to the 2 best lookout on the Nullarbor coast. It was very comfy to drop the luggage at the room and go explore this beautiful part of the world!
Totally recommend!
Can't get any clean water here. Water bottles at the pumps always empty. Spend nearly $4000 a week here on fuel and can't even get a bottle filled up. Can only use recycled water which leaves a grey stain on everything it touches. Will have to start fueling at penong instead
My hubby stayed with our dog waiting to cross into WA after boarder closes due to covid.he had a fantastic comfortable stay and was made to feel extremely welcome, as was Jess our dog. Clean comfy bed and room. Would highly recommend
Petrol price was high $1.92 and my dad donated so much just to shower. Met a truckie (looks Chinese descent) promoting truck/oil&gas dependent job. Last straight road before reaching Perth.funny experience
Rooms are are very basic. No internet service in rooms. Only in the roadhouse. Can only watch tv in roadhouse as tv in the room does not work properly. Just remember you pick up time when you cross into WA, it’s right at the front, go to the next town for accommodation. I would not even rate the accommodation.
Grabbed a burger while stuck there for 33hrs due to a breakdown very nice burger and showers were good unfortunately the bar didn’t open while we were there as I’m sure we would have ventured in there as well.
Happy and nice staff
Service was top notch! We had fun staying here. Was our last night in SA before we crossed the borders the next morning! X
Definitely worth a look. Good range of of giftware, good people, & a small bar. I have to go back.
Good chips too.
Truckies showers.
For a place so busy definitely needs huge updating. All costs would surely come back. Manager of bar/ restaurant also needs smarten up on how to speak to people and inform them on what is happening. To say bar is closed due to issues with poker machines and 2 hours later tell guests that it is their drinking in restaurant area that is stopping the bar opening is nothing short of rude. Our room was good and clean.
We stayed one night in a cabin. The cabins are set out in an informal rectangle and are basic but clean (except for a bit of sand/dust on the floor when we were there). The TV reception (only 3 channels) was not good and the wifi signal hardly made it to our cabin.
The cabins are set back from the main road so we weren't disturbed.
The main positive was the bar/restaurant which was very friendly, the food was tasty and with large portions and the beer prices were reasonable. We enjoyed our evening.
The petrol prices ($2.23 for ULP) is very expensive, so you should plan your journey carefully. (Eucla normally has slightly cheaper fuel but that was not available when we crossed the border).
Border Village is the only part of SA to use Australian Central Western time (also used in Eucla and a couple of other roadhouses in WA), which is a compromise midway between standard SA and WA time - a curiosity in itself.
The lookouts over the bight east of Border Village can be quite stunning and you can get nice views of the coast from Eucla (12 km west).
Great spot, to recharge before the long trek, perfect as a base to explore the area, lots of history and magnificent coastline, friendly staff, good meals
The perfect place to stop on your way across the Nullarbor, friendly staff, clean amenities good food
Executive rooms are very nice - clean and recently renovated. The team was marvellous assisting me to charge my EV even though we arrived late in the evening.
The room, while the area is small, has a great bed, which is what you really want. After a long day.
It’s lovely and clean. Great housekeepers.
Our meal was fresh, tasty, with a beautiful salad. Portions are generous.
Oh and the staff, every single one that we had dealings with were very friendly.
Yes, I would recommend
We are regulars at Border Village. We always spend a night during our Nulabour crossing. Huge meals, a cold beverage and clean comfortable accommodation. All the units have been refurbished over the last year or so. 9/10.
We stayed in a cabin, which was spacious and quite newly-refurbished. There's was a slight hitch with check-in and they went above and beyond to make up for it. Very friendly staff, and a hearty meal to top it off!
Still number 1 after stopping here after 11 years absent.
One of the friendliest and welcoming people along this stretch.
They make the best salad sandwiches I have ever tasted. I have no idea why but they taste incredible! I always make it a stop before I go through to WA or on my way back, and I always have 2. Compliments to the chef!
Horrible place that will rip you off given half a chance. Try not to stop and go to Eucla if going West
Staff were friendly, had a meal there as well it was great. Ashame that the disabled toilet didn't have a shower in there as well though
