BIG4 Loxton Riverfront Holiday Park reviews
45 Booked a powered site for 2 nights well in advance, due to my wife just having surgery (will provide a doctors note if needed!) we are unable to make the original booking and we wanted to re-schedule for the June long weekend.
Was basically told bad luck and lost our deposit due to 14 day cancellation policy.not that we were cancelling, we wanted to re-book!
I would have thought in these tough times of business a simple re-schedule and deposit transferred would have been very easy to do.
Not a happy camper at all and do not recommend, very bad customer service!
Again I stress, WE WERE NOT CANCELLING, we wanted to re-schedule!
I had a great stay. My small jayco cabin was a little dated but well looked after. The queen bed was very comfortable. It was cold this week and I found the extra rug in the cupboard wasn't quite enough. I asked for an extra rug and they found me one and put it in my cabin, thankyou very much.
I'm not much for Air-conditioning at night because they can be very noisy.
The duck outside welcome me every morning. Very cute
Great stay thanks
You got to check out the Giant Pelican.
Not very accommodating on a day with hardly any visitors - we asked for a grassy site to avoid all the dust but were told no “because the sprinklers are on”, no further explanation or acknowledgement of our request. The sprinklers were off a couple of hours later. Also asked if it was possible to arrange late checkout and was told no because the toilets closed for cleaning at 11 and they allow for early check-ins? The park was practically empty. Asked for riverside site, were told two nights minimum - again, almost empty park. Otherwise the park is nice and well kept, amenities are clean, but steep price for off season ($44 for powered dust site).
Unfortunately we only stayed one night here but would have loved to stay longer. The whole park is spacious and well kept. Vans aren't on top of each other and this creates a relaxed ambience. The facilities are newly and tastefully renovated and the reception staff/owners are very nice.
Camped in the unpowered section. A long way from ablutions, no water taps. Because it was a busy long weekend it would have been beneficial to have a few portaloos to accomadate the large number of campers. Good swimming nearby in the river.
Must of got the donger of dongets in the park, inside and outside appearances were filfy, cabin 2. The park was beautiful it's self with beautiful views of the river. Previously done my homework on line of accommodation and prices that started from $135 a night. I thought I would do the right thing and book directly through the big 4 only to be quoted $220 a night because of school holidays and that is what all they had left being booked out, school holidays had not even started, told reception don't worry and booked on line for $140. Big mistake.
Advertise as River front, but river front only has 6 sites. Put on dirt part and there was plenty of lawn area vacant the 3 nights we were there. Long walk to river front, and reception a long way away. Won't be going again
I cant rate this park highly enough, its was sheer pleasure from start to finish, and has left me & my very senior dog with some wonderful final memories on our last adventure together.
The lady at reception was full of country charm, and offered to upgrade me to a river front site, which was amazing! I slept with my camper doors open and my head under the stars (so obviously felt totally safe). I woke to ducks on the lawn and a view across the river of kangaroos drinking from the waters edge.
The river front sites are a bird lovers paradise, and are right next to a large lush lawn area with kids play equipment, bbqs and picnic tables.
Town centre was a lovely stroll along the river front, or head off in the opposite direction to the aptly named 'Heaven Clifftop Viewpoint'. Near there they were working on some swanky looking glamping tents which looked amazing!
The bathrooms & laundry look recently renovated and are spotlessly clean, as is the camp kitchen and BBQ area. The shower water pressure is next level!
This place is clean, pretty & peaceful. Loxton was not on my original itinerary, but i had to make last minute changes due to covid, to avoid Victoria, and boy im glad i did. I will DEFINITELY be back!
Great place to stay, right on the river front with powered site in our mobile home just perfect
Easter was busy and the toilets were only cleaned once a day, they got very dirty, otherwise very nice although $35 on for an unpowered site may have been able much.
We did not the place. To many permanents, poor tv signal. Had an issue with our van and they would Not let us have a late check out even though the park was empty. One of the office was very inflexible. We will not be back.
10 nights here with "Travel Auctions". Great spot, lovely amenities and nice staff BUT we had to ask to move after first night as we had no shade at all although the park is covered with gorgeous trees. We were told couldn't move on the grass as we would kill it staying for 10 nights so we got another gravel site with lawn in front of us and a tree. Still not a nice spot. I know it makes practical sense not to put people in a lovely grassy, shady site to save the grass but it's just frustrating to see it and not be able to have that comfort, especially when you see another van on the grass for 9 nights. Sorry but won't be staying again.
Not bad. Was near empty and we were disappointed to be given a site far away fro the river and in full sun. Toilets were brand new
The park is totally open and unsafe. Everyone can join the river side sites.why should i paid for a open unsafe area? People got party all over the night and no any staff come to stop them. It is the worst experience i have ever met.
Lovely park, so peaceful and serene. We had an ensuite site and could see the river. Great walking trails. It's a perfect place to relax and unwind. Easy trips to Berri and Renmark and the Riverland Field Days were great again this year also
Excellent.very pretty river bend area.pet friendly.had a lovely walk pn the rivers edge.very nice clean amenities.people very friendly.loved my stay here.
New Owners!
Awesome stay, clean Cabins, well kept facilities, very friendly and helpful owners, will definitely recommend and will be returning, Keep up the good work
If I could give no stars, that's what I would give. Park manager (lady) very rude, ground uneven and full of prickles, amenities not the cleanest. For a Big 4 Park I would have expected more due to the extra money it cost. Give this place a miss.
We came here for a vintage caravan meeting. The grounds were well kept with good tree cover. Facilities were modern and in good repair. We saw and were able to photograph emus, various parrots and kookaburras.
Accomodation was good and clean but customer service was non-existent: they didn’t give me a code for the wifi upon arrival (fair enough, happens) went straight back to the office at 6: 08 (office closes at 6) even though they picked up the phone they couldn’t be bothered to give me the code, their response was come back tomorrow. Not very customer friendly.
