Banjo's Bakery Cafe reviews
38Fantastic food, just a shame about the guy answering the phone on the 28th of may 22, super rude! Would've been 5 stars otherwise
Happy I can get the Tasmanian curried scallop pies here that I fell in love with in Hobart. Banjo’s guarantees 6 scallops in each pie, and indeed there are!
The “house cake” which is more like a custard tart topped with raspberries is good too.
Banjo’s also offer outside tables, so you can have your dog with you as enjoy your snacks.
As an incentive to try them, Banjo’s has a 50% off welcome offer if you download their app and order online. Their multi-buy deals are also good value.
Enjoyable spot.
Very friendly atmosphere and service.
Great selection of food.
Little pricey for a bakery, but I'm assuming the location bumps it up a bit.
Great atmosphere. Great pies, pastries and coffee. But not so good on service. The lady that took my order looks pretty annoyed when taking my order. She literally can’t wait to finish my order and just move on to the next customer. No ‘thank you’, no ‘anything else’.
Tables were dirty, there were 3 front of house ladies and none of them can actually find time to sanitise the table.
Nice Coffee. A great range of bakery items. But definite lack of staff initiative, all the tables had food spilled and other peoples rubbish, tables in disarray. We needed to rearrange tables ourselves just to be useable for 4 of us at one table and worst of all ask for staff to come and clean the tables while we stood waiting for them to come. Not a great look for an out door cafe that people walk by and decide to stop or not.
Eat here regularly, good own made pies, pasties and the like. Always friendly service. Good clean well presented premises.
Every time we come here the service is both friendly and excellent.
I love this bakery it has rely tasty paisterys. And it is in a wonderful location. And it even has toilets.
Lovely coffee, delightful staff and moreish saviours. Your made to feel like a regular on a quiet morning after just 1 visit.
Great pies, vegetarian rolls and sweets! A charming place for lunch or a coffee. Feels so bright & clean. Prices are reasonable and the staff are lovely too. Highly recommend the raspberry housecake, brownies and mud cake. Thank you Banjo's! (PS Please bake more mini Hawaiian pizzas as you run out quickly and they are our favourite savoury item)
Got my order wrong twice and charged me for items they didn't put in my bag. Realised too late so couldn't go back.

can’t wait to experience more!
My family found this place by accident and what a great accident it was! Called in for a late lunch and the food was sensational! We ordered pies, sausage rolls and fresh sandwiches and everything was 5 Star quality. The pies tasted fresh, their pastry was delicious and the sausage rolls were to die for! Every staff member we interacted with were happy and friendly, you could tell they really love working here! We enjoyed our visit so much that after a couple of hours of walking around Gelnelg we ventured back for afternoon tea! My only complaint is we live so far away from this store (we're from Victoria)
There is a reason why I’ve come here every morning of my five day trip. The coffee is the best in the area and the fare is scrumptious.
First visit I thought it was great. I live nearby and have used them several times. The pastry on the pies is not what was expected on an SA pie, the bottom falls away if you try and eat it on the run. The sandwiches are sometimes old and soggy. Their pasties content are different but good. The place is fitted out nicely and popular.
Love the coffee. A real surprise. Food was delicious. Place was busy and you could tell that some staff are still finding their feet. However, most still managed to smile. Lovely to see a new business employ so many of our young kids. Keep up the good work xx
What a shop.yes they are very busy but all popular shops are busy.great coffee, great food, great service and thank you to the manager (James or Jamie) who despite being flat out made sure my family were looked after and suggested things to do in Glenelg. Bakers doing a great job and we will be back this time next year. PS try the vanilla slice! Patrice & Sal
Absolutely phenomenal. Prices are fantastic because there are a lot of multi buy options. The servings are all a bit smaller but they taste unbelievably good. So many options! It's going to be hard to walk past this place and not buy something. Wonderful coffee!
Popular shop in a perfect location, expect to wait a bit.
If you are wanting to have breakfast, morning tea, lunch or just a snack that is made and prepared by the most wonderful, caring staff with the most professional manner around, you must visit Banjo's in Glenelg. We were only there for five days and made it our go to place for breakfast and lunch for four of those days. We certainly look forward to our next visit to Glenelg. Many thanks to all of the staff at Banjo's from John.
