Ballaboosta Burnside reviews
27 We had a 7 person group booking recently at Ballaboosta. The food was tastey, especially the lamb kofta, and the atmosphere was nice. However, the service left something to be desired. It took 30 minutes before we even saw a menu and after taking both our drinks and food order at the same time, we were never approached again to see how we were doing or take more drinks orders.
We ended up having to go to the bar twice just to have our water refilled over a three hour dinner. I'm not sure what the situation was but there seemed to be enough staff to support the patrons and they were happy to sit behind the bar chatting and working. Perhaps they're just allegric to making money off drinks because when I got home I basically needed a hydralite to replace my fluids:)
Hopefully they can improve this part of the experience because it's a nice place.
Met with friends for Pizza and wine. We had booked, but initially were seated next to a long table. It was loud, so we opted to sit outside, it was a rare warm night so that was fine. Pizza was nice, staff were attentive. However, we were asked after we finished eating to move back into the restaurant for coffee and cake as the table was booked. We obliged, moved tables and then sat there for the next 30 mins waiting for service. The table we vacated still didn't have people on it, so, why did we need to move?
It was a mistake apparently, but why wasn't this explained to us with a 'sweetner'. We left to have coffee elsewhere feeling underwhelmed, and that our night out had been spoiled.
This place is an absolute jewel! Not only does it offers a cosy atmosphere, amazingly flavory food, and a friendly charming service but what makes it even better is the fact that you get to enjoy of such unique proposal at any time of the day, for a fraction of the price you would be paying in most of the trendy places in Adelaide. The minute you go in, you can tell that these guys know what they're doing, please do yourself a favor and pay them a visit! And by the wat, coffee was on point and beyond, will be coming back for sure!
Can't comment on food, just coffee which was very good. Friendly service, nice spot. Accessible without too much traffic noise.
Understated luxe is on tap here, with rich greens and natural textures right down to the crisp white linen shirts donned by the beautiful wait-staff that effortlessly glide between tables. The food is just divine, served fast and tasty, and the best value in the Eastern suburbs. A perfect Sunday morning tonic.
Food was good (small and expensive). But service was poor!
Booked online for dinner and chose the 'On Patio' option. When we arrived they provided a table inside, so I had to mention that we booked outside on the patio. Then after getting a table on the patio, half-way through the dinner we were asked to move to a different table, so we had to move all the food and drinks to another table. One last point, after we ordered drinks and food we were never approached once if we wanted more water, drinks, food etc. Like another reviewer mentioned.they are still working on the service!
Wow! Genuine service, amazing ambience and delicious food. Perfect place to sit on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Exactly what the East of Adelaide needed.
Will be back, with friends.
