Bakery On Linden reviews
35The food speaks for itself, one of the best in Adelaide. Fantastic service from people that enjoy what they do. You will be glad you called in.
Dropped by the cafe a while ago to see that the store was selling r u ok day cupcakes.these were simply devine, though i couldn’t help but feel the only people who needed them were the staff after being verbally bludgeoned by the owner
The way the boss treated the workers was atrocious. Criticizing them constantly while he made more mistakes.
Welcoming and speedy service. Food has always been decent, savoury or sweet. Disappointing portion sizes and steep prices.
I've been going here long before it was "Bakery on Linden", and have been mostly disappointed with the change.
The prices feel steep for the quality and portion size given. I paid $11.60 for an Egg and Bacon Pie and a small coffee (no alternative milk). I can't understand what would make either the pie or coffee near $6 each.
And even then, the coffee left a strange aftertaste, unsure if that was the coffee or the powder used to make it a mocha. I did notice the barista pouring shots to prepare the machine, which was good to see, and may have meant I came in a little too early. Egg and Bacon Pie was pretty good! Very salty and hearty.
Inflation has noticeably impacted bakery good prices but this location so much so. Diamond Burger, a burger joint on the same road, has also noticeably steep prices, but they make up for it in quality and portion size, whereas this place does not compensate their prices or portion sizes in any way.
I would love to be able to come here for breakfast or a snack more often, but with food quality so middle-of-the-range and prices so high, the temptation is not there.
All the best to future customers and I commemorate all hospitality staff.
EDIT: I appreciate their reply to my review, I will give them another shot sometime soon, looking forward to it!
Used to be good when it was Saint Georges Bakery and their Kranskys were amazing. Nowadays, the food is just reheated and average.
Edit: what a snide and inaproprit response. You've lost a star, once more.
A really nice place for pastries. We go there a lot and my daughter loves their vanilla slice in particular.
I left my credit card there yesterday. I went in just now and you know what? They kept my card safe! Really great people.
I had a Kitchener bun from the store today and it was not very nice. The people in the store serving seemed ok, but would not go back based on the taste. Price was fine though.
I’m very grateful to the lovely woman who helped us with a gluten free option for my daughter. She took extra steps to clean everything before she used it, to prevent any cross contamination. I really appreciate the extra effort, thank you
Chunky pepper beef steak pie was yummy. This is from someone who frequent the St Peters Bakery in St Peters.
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by the senior employee/manager. He constantly seems to be yelling at the young employees and the friendly middle aged employee! The business seems to constantly say they're short staffed - I can clearly see the reason why! The employees should not be tolerated this disgusting behaviour!
Nice place. The pastries are a bit dry and lack texture (if you know what I mean). Friendly staff and otherwise a great bakery.
Had a couple of sandwiches plus 2 coffees for 40 dollar. Sandwiches were Ok but it's not worth they money. Also they took ages to prepare them. I find myself a bit disappointed when "bakeries " don't bake on site. I will just give them a 3 start review because of the reasons mentioned above.
Go here at least once a fortnight product and service has always been consistently very good curry pies are great and the coffee fantastic Recommended
Friendly staff and great coffee and food. Obsessed is an understatement. Found my new go to!
Me and my family visits this place every couple of months for breakfast. The quality of food has gone down considerably along with the unenthusiastic customer experience. We ordered some freshly cut sandwiches which were very dry and were just an assembly of ingredients. Unwelcoming, expensive, flat!
Not a bakery. Don’t visit here if you are vegan.
To owner: we visited this morning and were shown the raw slices. Was looking for vegan bakery goods. Not looking for a pasty, asked if there was cake or donut or something and answer no and was told they are not baked there. If I’m wrong I will change the rating for sure.
The best coffee I ever had for a long time
Thanks guys the staff are very helpful and friendly
The beef pie it's great
Purchased an apple crumble pie from them. Cut it up and it was still raw. I had messaged them about this and they claimed that it was just butter and needed to be "gently heated". But when you eat it, you can clearly tell that it was raw and was very doughy in the mouth.
Food is fantastic, the owners are beautiful and amazing. The girls are so friendly, and can't forget the young man who works there, you all are amazing. Thankyou for great friendly service.
Been here 3 times this year. The cream filled sweet pastries are pretty good and very fresh but don't pick the coffee cream filled vanilla slice, it was so average. Inside is not a good place to sit down for a cup of coffee and cake and some conversation because the place is squashy and gets very noisy, but they do have an alfresco area.
