Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden Visitor Centre and Cafe reviews
49Must visit in Port Augusta! Lovely and clean place. Cafe menu is average but great ambiance. Tourist shop has a lot of great items.
Great experience to walk amongst the native Australian bush plants! They have good tasty vegan choices.don't miss the gift shop! Great quality Australian useful knick knacks highly recommend if you are passing through or visiting Port augusta.apparently the sunset walk would be great too.we just went during the day and had lunch.
I’ve just completed a 20,000 km loop from Vic, SA, Northern Territory Western Australia and back to South Australia and this has to be the most pleasurable experience coming to the arid gardens and drinking nice coffee and the best vanilla slice in the whole of my trip. The setting is exquisite, the staff friendly, food and cakes delectable.
If you are in Port Augusta make sure you have a walk around the Arid Lands Botanic Gardens. This is a really fascinating place to explore different sustainable garden designs and plant selections. Plus learn loads about the plants of the outback.
Love it, great service, food and coffee not to mention the amazing scenery
Fabulous gift shop and nursery!
This is our most favourite place to go. We go have lunch let the kids into the play area and then go for walk around. They are so exhausted when we leave. It's fantastic. And the staff are lovely and mostly always smiling. 100% recommend this place.
Incredible place! So many plants. So well arranged. Lovely seedlings and seeds. Service and help from the lady in the kiosk impeccably. Nice coffee.
We two shared an enormous serve of Banana Cake washed down with two cups of quality coffee. We sat in the winter sun enjoying quiet time before examining a diversity of seeds, books, clothing and miscellaneous other items in the well stocked souvenir shop.
We had a good time there.
The food and drinks were nice.
There is a shop to buy gifts for yourself or others.
Toilets to use.
Several walks around the gardens.
It's worth a visit.
Summer is definitely the wrong time to visit. Would have been a lot better a month ago. Visitors centre was nicely designed and cool. Walks were good.
Excellent venue for a child's birthday. Kids had a ball, food was great and we could relax and have a coffee. Excellent value for money also.
This place is always my food stop in Port Augusta. The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. The service is very nice. I would absolutely recommend everyone to stop here for a brunch or breakfast.
What a great place to enjoy a long lingering lunch with my girlfriend's.
Excellent service and the fresh food ever so tasty.
We shall return soon.
Thanking the staff
Lovely venue. But severely understaffed when we visited on Sunday morning. Obviously popular as 8 people in front of us in line but only 3 staff on who were run off their feet.
Also very stingy with their ingredients, the barest smear of quandong jam and smashed avo was the thickness of butter. Shame because venue is lovely. Coffee average
Very nice place. Find out more about our native plants. Large range of birds inhabit the gardens and are a joy for bird photographers. The cafe have a good menu and wonderful coffee, then check out the gift shop.
Stopped by to get lunch but ended up getting take away because we couldn't bring our dog up to the visitor centre to eat in the outdoor area
Great gardens and a good feed too. The tasting plate for one show cases the wonderful native bush flavours of our country.
What a lovely spot. Plenty of walks to suit all levels of mobility. Helpful signage to guide walkers and inform. Cafe a real treat. Recommend the tasting platter, with gluten free option. Two and a half hours disappeared. Recommended.
This place has a nice garden and scenery. Cafe is good but the pumpkin soup I had was lacking flavour. There is a gift shop that you can buy souvenirs and there is a plant nursery.
