Adelaide Festival Centre reviews
36 Bass ticket line long but quickly through. Given clear instructions for correct door. At door staff efficient and with a smile.
Seats wide soft and comfy. Enjoyed.
Aladdin was an absolutely beautiful screen play. Well done to the small cast and amazing stage scenes.
We watched Aladdin from the box seats and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very easily accessible, great location and neat theatre. Props were just unbelievable for Aladdin, just shows you what they're capable of.
Saw Aladdin here and aside from being blown away by the show, the theatre was spacious with easy access to/from the transport and taxi pick up points, good signage to get around with no idea where to go. Interesting exhibitions and art instalments scattered around the lobby.
Festival Centre itself was fantastic The Play I saw was Disney Aladdin The Play In Which The Part Of Aladdin/Prince Ali and Jasmine were played well and the music was played very well but I think the rest of it was playing for easy laughs.
I love the Festival Theatre. Always have since the day it opened. Would've given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the fact that those in wheelchairs, like my young son, have no option in seating. You could be a multi-millionaire but, if you're in a wheelchair, you're stuck in Row W of the Stalls. In this day and age, there should be removable seating in all access areas so that wheelchair users can pay for actual premium seating and sit in the premium areas. Just because you're in a wheelchair doesn't mean you want to see the show from the back.
Great show but should sell cocktails and have longer intermission.not enough time to even get to the loo!
Been here a couple of times to watch different performances. Food and drinks bar very expensive. But a nice small venue. No allocated seating so first in the line gets best seats in middle. Outside area a nice walk near Torrens River.
, The only downside, was that the doors were open about 5 minutes before the start of the show, too late and it was dark when let in. Hard to see the correct seats. Just guessed.
Fabulous show and talent Mamma Mia Id go again, vocalists as good as those in.the movies.brilliant performance and props and backdrops.costumes xxxx
A fairly tired venue not much changed in the last 40+ years. Acoustics is not good so don't see a modern band there as music 'shatters' and ricochets around the main auditorium. Construction underway until 2020 for casino hotel+extensions, so only one entrance around the back. Interesting for tourists to wander around but if you see a show there then know that it does not compare well with any other Australian Capital city.
This is now a cashless venue so make sure you have your credit or debit card. Chairs are looking a bit worn. Show was fantastic.
Went to see Moma Mia great show. Festival theatre will be great when all building that going on is finished.
Conservative programming. Lots of conferences held here. Next to the river. Near museums. And Tram. Big Renovation going on at the moment (Nov 2018)
Still a good theatre to see any production. Bars have improved by multiplying and fast and efficient service during breaks. Art work on surrounding wall is a feature worth exploring.
Excellent venue for shows. They could learn from the UK though and bring back preordered drinks as intermission is a nightmare.
