Historic 50m pool located northern end of fortitude valley. Can be quite busy before and after work with squad and casual swimmers. Has an on-site gym. Free access available when staying at nearby alpha mosaic hotel on Ann st.

Wonderful 50m swimming pool in the middle of Fortitude Valley in Brisbane. One of Australia's most famous pools, that over the years has seen many Olympic medallists and international swimmers use it as their training base. Recently, the Scottish Swimming team used this venue to prepare for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Venue is clean and has good surrounding space for sitting or sunbathing. Small coffee shop on site as well as a swim shop and fitness gym. Easily accessible on foot but probably difficult to find good nearby car parking space.

If your considering a membership at the Valley Pool have a look at February lane availablity. Closed an awful lot for carnivals and waterpolo. The parking is paid street parking with clear way zones in the morning from 7am. They put all the furniture away since January this year so unless you want to use the place early in the morning then consider paying per visit. Next week the pool is closed 6 out 7 days for carnivals and polo. When enquirered why they can’t put furniture back out visit it simply not possible but they use to do this previous years.so your weekly membership fee needs to be considered as it has a lot restrictions and closures that you don’t know about until you sign up. The pool is lovely, clean and 2 metres deep on either end. Lane swimming pool with around 9 lanes approx. The gym is in two parts which small room upstairs with two rowers, two bikes, two tread mills but there is three but that doesn’t work, and fan. The air con is limited to 21 degrees and it gets rather hot in this room. The weights room sits next to pool and is tiny and often to many people in the small room. It has weight set has rack free weight going up to approx 45 kilos. Cleaning is done by the staff which varied. Very busy in morning. They say the gym is open when carnivals are on but it’s difficult to park within 2kms of the place and getting in between all the people is very hard. Parents and kids for miles.
This pools services business market, gay community and locals looking for a pool. The upside is when is open it’s really nice but with waterpolo, carnivals and lane closure for swimming lessons it gets irritating when pay membership as seems like it’s always closed or being used by paid operators.
The above points need to be considered if you looking at the weekly membership or you pay per time for pool which is $5.20
Your choice of gyms in the area is very high and over 10 to choose from with 500 metres of the Valley pool. When you can use this place it’s a wonderful place.

Amazing facility that is never over crowded. Lovely, clean water and a very relaxed chilled vibe. Very reasonably priced and the staff are great.

Great pool, great temp, good for laps at 50 or 25m. Kiosk and swim gear available to purchase. Splash lanes also.

I’ve been coming to this pool for 30 years to swim laps. Management has come and gone over the years. This current team has taken The Valley Pool experience to a new level. Loving the new music - best it’s ever been - creates a groovy lounge bar vibe. Pool always clear and perfect temperature. Change rooms clean and spacious. Keep up the great work!
