I purchased some hair on scraps on line and was very disappointed I was expecting to receive the hide from Australian cattle, when it arrived it was nothing like any cattle that I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of cattle and have bred many, most ugly patterned as I believe it came from Lohani cattle which are from Pakistan, the smell of stale urine was utterly disgusting, as some of the processes used for tanning in some countries is using urine, it could not be kept indoors consequently it very rapidly finished up in the garbage can, I informed the Skin thing and they fully refunded me. I would never use again

I had to return an item back to Skin Thing due to a manufacturing defect. The unfortunate reality is that a lot of businesses don't stand behind their products or customers and I expected some push back. I was mightily surprised that it was not only a non-hassle, but an enjoyable experience to meet Anthony the Son of the former owner and have a good chat. It's great to see an iconic local business that deals in quality goods stay in the family and continue providing rare Aussie made goods on the Sunny Coast. It's also good to know that if by mischance something is not up to standard these guys don't hesitate to rectify it. Will not hesitate to go back or recommend.

I went in to pick up an Akubra hat that they had put aside for me. The gentleman who met me at the door wasn't the friendliest person I've met, but I was impressed with the skins they had in store. The Akubra was $100 cheaper than Hats By The Hundreds, but the quality wasn't. Pretty sure they're hats that didn't quite pass the QA test at Akubra.

Loads of sheep skin, cattle skin products. Ugg boots, hats, rugs plus. Excellent range and helpful staff. Easy access via back street.
