The Crystal Caves reviews
64Good for kids and adults, everything is reasonably priced and they have a kids area after you go through the museum so that kids can go fossicking for small gems of their own
The most amazing experience you can do for the whole family. So much to look at and there are gifts for anyone of any age. Highly recommend
Nice shop, but couldnt believe that all customers were wearing a face mask but not one staff member was during this period when they are mandatory by law. Very poor effort.
EDIT; What a BS response.are you telling me that all 6 staff members that day have the same medical condition? Or was it just a case of wanting the clients money but don't care about their health, especially considering you're dealing with travelers and tourists all day.
A must visit when you're visiting Port Douglas and Cairns! We've seen the owners collection of crystals, gems and even a real meteorite! Also the staff members are very welcoming and they are very happy to assist you in the store. Highly recommended.
Can always find something unique and lovely for gifts. Love the place a definite drawcard for Atherton and the Tablelands
Whilst I enjoyed visiting the caves I was really disappointed to see a packed store clearly in breach of all covid regulations ie no covid check in that we could find, not one staff member wearing a mask, no request for visitors to wear a mask or check in, at least 40 people in a store with no social distancing measures in place. What makes this store exempt? Really nerve racking experience. Beware! Visitors from everywhere and would be a minefield with no ability to contact trace covid exposure. QLD health need to be alerted!
Response to owner: You are hardly a retail store and don't know about QLD but in NSW Kmart and bunnings have check ins. Also why were visitors inside the store not asked to wear masks as per the QLD Health mandatory requirements. Lastly are you saying ALL your staff were exempt from wearing masks. I call BS.
Love this place worth the visit have a walk through the cave and see all the different gems and the giant geod. Have a chat with the staff they are lovely and can answer any questions you may have
Great tourist attraction or family day out.
110% recommend going on the tour.
Staff are always lovely
Absolutely incredible experience. My partner and I are both originally from the Atherton tablelands, now living in Townsville. We don’t often head up here anymore, as life gets in the way but this weekend we took the time to visit family and relish in our childhood memories. The crystal caves is a very nostalgic place for the two of us, and having been served by such a great team member made it all the better. Karen not only helped us and answered our questions, she was so friendly and was genuinely interested in what we had to say. From my stance, I could see that Karen had a strong liking for crystals/gems which made being served by her even greater.
Not only was the service incredible, seeing the caves is always an out of this world experience. It’s so great to learn about different types of stones, and where they come from. Each time we go, my crystal collection will get larger
I don’t know how long it will be before we are able to come back up to Atherton, but I will be sure to stop in again - hopefully Karen will be there!
Thanks for making this quick family trip that bit better ️
This is a stunning personal collection of unique crystals set in a well done man-made cave. Worth a visit for sure!
Beautiful place where you can learn more about gems and what they bring out. You are allowed to browse the shop for as long as you want and are able to take pictures. Did not do the tour as its quite steep in price.
Amazing. The staff are wonderfull the self guided tour is great, so many fantastic things to see.great for all ages.
Excellent n extra ordinary experience! Amazing collection of the precious stones. Must visit in Atherton.
An enjoyable experience, our kids had a great time, and the staff were quite friendly and supportive, including both the tour, and the Crack-a-Geode feature.
Great place for all ages. Only detraction was one of the kids left the geode they had cut on the counter. A quick call and they are posting it out but are charging us $10. We spent over $600 in total that morning.charging postage was a bit rich
Lots of pretty specimens to look at and the people are friendly. The prices are an enigma though. Some items were quite reasonable whilst others were over the top.
Well worth the visit though.
Absolutely amazing. Beautiful and well presented.
My kid loved this place too. We had to double back and look at multiple displays again. Still took ages to go through even once, because there is so much to see!
Staff were lovely and helpful too.
Top place. Must see! Highly recommended.
Awesome attraction. Recommend for locals and traveller's. Bring ur wallet! Do the tour and crack a geode. Kids love it!

The shop is fantastic, massive range with great affordable prices! And the staff are awesome and helpful!
If you're into crystal and gems, you will love this cave. It has a stunning collection of crystals of all shapes colours and sizes from all over the world.
The collection is beautifully laid out and labelled as well. I went on a self guided tour and took time to admire the fascinating display. Taking photos is allowed too.
The staff at the shop and reception are very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful shop with so many lovely items on display. It was a magical experience! A must do if you're in Atherton.
