Well where do I start.
Me and my wife decided to purchase Infinity London Scooter from the shop Thursday 12/02/2021.
Specifically asked for teal colour, which was available according to website in Northlakes shop.
Consultant showed us "The only only scooter" of that type shop had, which was a showroom model.
Despite of our request to check stock or look in storage, he never bothered to do so.
Ended up buying showroom model full price and not the color we wanted.
Box was not provided, and scooter did not look like new upon closer inspection later (dirty, loose bolts).
Quite frustrating experience.
It gets even better - literally few days later (14/02/21), we were passing shop again and they had teal scooter as a new showroom model. WHAT?

Cannot even return it to get color my wife wanted.

5 star service from Josh and staff
Rocked up at 3pm and Josh and the girl working helped me put together a board that suited me.
Josh stayed back until 430 on a Sunday so I could leave with my board fantastic service Josh only gave me what I asked about and a great deal I know nothing about skateboards

Great experience instore with Josh today who went above and beyond to assist my Son with a problem he had with his Scooter. Solid advice. Fantastic pricing and only recommended what my Son actually needed. Easy to talk to and always a great vibe instore. My Son would not go anywhere else and neither would I. Thanks Josh! Pretty solid selection of skate, scoot and apparel.
Not impressed with the counter staffs arrogant attitude though.
Check the website for online deals before going because website prices are cheaper than in-store labels.

Inexperienced staff reccomend wrong product. Owner won't return/exchange even with receipt because my child doesn't remember what staff member that served him. Poor form, we spent over $500 @ your store before Christmas and god knows what since our boys have been scooter riding. We'll be sure to buy elsewhere in future and support another store.

Took 10 & 12yr old boys to Skate Connection North Lakes this morning for some new parts. Josh (the manager) was amazing with the boys, showing them why certain parts would or would not work, what parts were better than others and for different reasons, how to service the scooter, change parts themselves, did a lot of things above and beyond that he didn't have to do! He spent SO MUCH TIME with the boys, it was awesome, he's very knowledgeable and the boys were stoked to spend some time with him! Thank u so much Josh, u have gained some very loyal customers!

Skate connection at north lakes is my local shop and I’m happy it is because they always have great service, they generally don’t ask if they can help in what you are looking for, but ask how your day has been and how you are before they ask what you are looking for. They always are very polite and generally are very cheap. One time, I was there just browsing and a teenager walked in and asked what the cheapest grip tape they had was.it was $7 and he only had $3, so one of the employees asked how much he needed it. He said he really needed a sheet, so the employee just gave him a sheet of the skate connection grip tape and all he asked for was a shout out on insta.

We took our son to the North Lakes store yesterday to purchase his birthday gift, a scooter.as we had previously had an amazing experience with his brother and the guy who we believed managed the store. Yesterday we were served by a woman who could not have been any ruder toward my family and I. She was blunt, sarcastic and plain rude. She treated us as though we were a complete inconvenience (We spent close to $400.inconvenient?). This was meant to be a positive experience! I'm so disappointed and cannot fathom why she felt it was appropriate to treat customers, let alone young children this way. I WISH I had taken my money elsewhere. For shame!

The team at skate connection could not have been more helpful. They answered all of our questions & stayed 20 minutes after closing to help us finalise our purchase. Will only be going to the North Lakes Skate Connection team for any skating needs. Could not recommend them enough.

Skate Connection is DISGUSTING! Spending your hard earned money and value good customer service? Want a guarantee that you’ll be taken care of when something goes wrong? Look ELSEWHERE! There are skate shops that will charge less, understand your worth as a customer and make sure your time isn’t utterly wasted!

I bought a pair of skates earlier in the year and they started falling apart. I took them back to the Helensvale store and the woman agreed that they were defective. But she completely ignored my request the first time around, as if I was stupid. I had to walk out of the store and embarrassingly inform my boyfriend of the outcome.or lack thereof, because nothing was actually done. Something about contacting the distributor (or was it another retailer?) then getting a replacement? In any case I wasn’t after that—I was after a refund as I’d decided to research better quality skates. These seemed almost as bad as “Chinese knockoffs” that the store so proudly claims to not sell in their advertising. It was a safety hazard. Anyone would have understood. Anyone, that is, except the folks at Skate Connection. Anyway, I walked back in with my partner and explained myself once again—with his assistance this time—and a store credit was issued in lieu of the refund we needed. Fine, we thought. Could’ve been worse… we were so wrong.

Shortly after, they had an online only sale. We went into Ashmore and requested the credit be used online. It took a whole day for them to get back to me with the frustrating news that it was only valid in-store. Since then, we’ve no longer any use for it, due to the uncomfortable looks we receive and awkward exchanges we’ve had with the staff every time we try to ask for some flexibility, and because it can’t be used on THEIR OWN site. So we decided we’d prefer a proper refund for the defective skates, as was within our rights back when we first approached them regarding the issue. As mentioned above, we were originally outright ignored and then refused this.

To quote the ACCC, “anything bought new from a store or business shouldn’t be defective … you can get a refund even if there’s a sign saying ‘no refund’. ”

On 04 Dec ‘18, I rang up and explained the situation to a female staff member who then relayed the information to her manager. She didn’t bother to put me on hold while explaining the situation lazily and even rudely said “I dunno, she’s yelling at me”. Completely untrue. I was trying to speak with clarity as I was in a busy shopping centre. When I informed the manager of her conduct I was told “oh she’s new here”. Being new isn’t an excuse! The follow up calls were rude, blunt and frustrating. No refund was offered. An online credit was FINALLY offered. No, we don’t want that anymore. We kindly asked for that in the past. Now that we’re taking this more seriously, they offer us scraps? At a loss, I even got my partner to ring up to see what the hell was going on.

I’ve contacted the ACCC and am in the process of communicating with Fair Trading QLD to review our options. We’re absolutely disgusted by the service we’ve received at this so called “skate shop”, especially having spent lots of money with them before (at least for us, lots—the owner (s) are obviously are doing VERY well, judging by how things have been handled so far). They’re not the kind you picture when you hear “skate shop”. You imagine people who give a damn and appreciate the business they get. The type who sort you out if things go a little bad. Nah, Skate Connection is the OPPOSITE. They may as well be CORPORATE!

So there you have it. They DO NOT value you as a customer. They have NO REGARD for the law. They WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY and KEEP IT even when it’s YOURS! They AREN’T your local skate shop that needs your support. Skate Connection are GREEDY, and they’ll be all smiles (they’ve gotta make those sales right?) until it comes to ACTUAL SERVICE!

If you’re ANY kind of skater or enthusiast, take your money to a shop where you don’t have to fight tooth and damn nail to get a simple refund for a defective product!

Just be aware, there are no refunds allowed! Even if the size written on the product (and recomended to you by staff) doesn't match actual shoe sizes. This product was even adjustable to 4 sizes! (She's size 1. THE SKATES WERE TO FIT SIZE 13- 3!) There was nothing else at all available that we could exchange for of any similar product. Will have to wait weeks for the next size which may or may not fit.this doesn't help my daughter at her skate party today. Well done skate connection.you're bullying policy ruined a little girl's birthday party. You need to make people aware at time of purchasethat there are definately no refunds. I would never have pirchased gift for someone else had I have known!

The guys at skate connection actually care, extremely professional, the shop looks absolutely fantastic as well. They dont just push for a sale and try to find out what you need the board for and take their time to provide you a customized solution perfectly suited 5o the customer.

Coming from someone who is a client relations and strategy manager, I am extremely impressed with the overall business and staff in general. Great job guys!

All in all the guys at the northlake store are absolutely fantastic, couldn't recommend this skate shop more.
