Such a wonderful experience here today! I had a stressful morning and was greeted by friendly receptionists, was made a lovely coffee and found a fabulous book to read my baby whilst we waited for my retainers to be created. I am so grateful for great service like this. It really makes a difference!

There is a belief that once quantity goes up - quality goes down. Unfortunately this calls true for Medlands Orthodontics.
I have been going through the process of straightening my teeth for almost 3 years now and I had a lot of dealings with various level of staff at this practice. And don’t get me wrong - your teeth will get straight - it’s just that when I pay such large sums of money for treatments - I kind of like to receive a very high level of customer service - that’s isn’t just smoke in mirrors in a view of a drink on arrival or a bottle of bubbly at the end of your treatment (which I had to remind them about - more about it later). It’s the other service that made me feel like a number in oppose to feeling like a valuable client.
1. When patients call you - I understand it is way easier and faster for you to find in database by DOB. But I am not my DOB - I have a name. And I hated feeling like a number when calling you.
2. When you say you going to schedule an appointment for someone at a later date - how about you make a call to do so instead of sending a matter of fact msg ‘you have an appt scheduled for tmrw (first time I would be hearing about it) please confirm or call the practice to reschedule’. How about you pick up the phone and call to see when it is suitable for me in the first place? It’s very poor practice to schedule an appointment for someone without confirming with them first that they are indeed able to attend on that day.
3. And then - when you do make an appointment and I schedule my life around it, the one that has been set for me behind my back without asking wether the date will be ok or not - don’t call me on the day and say ‘oh we made a mistake - we actually don’t need to see you! ’
4. This is generally what I have found with Medlands - they are too big for their own good. No one knows what’s happening, lots of mistakes, extremely poor communication, being told that something has been posted for you when it wasn’t, treatment process that I would need to remind them about, dealing with a different person each visit (even though it’s always the same things that would be done at appointments). They are good at greeting, smiling and offering you treats and coffees - but once you actually start dealing with them - they are likely to disappoint.
5. And at the end of it all - I HAD TO ASK for my bottle of sparkling and the song that they do to congratulate someone who finishes the treatment. It was an absolutely degrading experience to listen to the song that I had to remind them about. As mentioned before it’s been almost 3 years that I have been coming to this company for appointments and I got to know the process and I was somewhat looking forward to the celebratory wrap up and then I had to be the one to remind you guys to congratulate me? Wow! Just wow!

I wrote this post not to complaint - but in hope that management will take note and changes would take place. In the past I worked in a dental hospital with a multidisciplinary staff - and we have never had such disorganisation and miscommunication occur at our facility. I am sorry but it’s safe to say - no one knows what the hell is going on at Medlands! I almost felt discriminated against! I would not recommend Medlands to anyone.

Medland is a great orthodontics, except for when I finished my treatment and not being happy with my teeth after deciding not to go ahead due to financial and health reasons, after much consideration I called up, the lady on the phone towards the end of the call laughing said “Maybe you should start saying for veneers that’s the only way” I didn’t really like her tone when it’s not that I can’t afford veneers, I have other priorities due to my current health and have decided not to go forward. A little disappointed they apparently “can’t do anything for me” after I paid thousands. During my treatment it was lovely, just disappointed being told to just save for veneers as that was my first main goal and if I’m not being happy with the outcome I still need to go ahead with the original plan.

Dr Bill Medland, Kellie & all the staff that I dealt with during my appointment this week were both highly personable and professional. Thankyou for your time and expertise. I would give them more stars if I could.

Medland made my girlfriend jealous (with my Invisalign experience)

I lived on the Gold Coast, she lived in Brisbane and went with a different provider after I started my aligners

She came with me when I was finishing my aligners and kept telling me how jealous she was of the experience in comparison to her treatment:

- Everyone went out of their way to be extra helpful & friendly (without being too much)
- The environment & service are, for all purposes, perfect
- Medland never rushed and a took a much more "Let's go slow if we have to" approach

Medland is definitely my go-to recommendation, even if I have to take time from work to come from Brisbane (it's worth it, every time)

Thanks to everyone involved at Medland, I'm 100% happy with the treatment process & the outcome

Ok I gave a star in the middle. They are so much more expensive than other providers because you get your coffee and biscuits nibbles and they are selling my an item. I saved so much more going with someone else. Medland sounded to me like an American Carmody (however you spell that)

My son was made to feel comfortable during every step of the consultation and any concerns he had were addressed in a reassuring and positive manner. This has led to him now beginning his treatment with Medlands and Dr Nguyen.

I had my braces done here about 15 years ago and still my teeth look good and my retainer has remained in place while I've heard other people's retainers were poorly placed so broke off while eating etc. The service I received at the time was great on so many levels. I was young and nervous but everyone was so accommodating. I can't recommend this family operated orthodontics enough. Thank you so much for everything.
